Niantic responded with a tweet stating that the project will be completed soon. Now the Pokémon GO team has clearly shown that they are keeping their promise from September. From now on, you can use your Apple Watch to collect important items, for example. We will show you what features are available.
Pokémon GO on the Apple Watch
You can now discover wild Pokémon or hatch the new baby monsters with the smart watch on your wrist. With the quick access buttons on the watch, you can discover Pokémon and collect items without having to take your iPhone out of your pocket. However, you will still need the iPhone to catch them. The catch function is not available on the Apple Watch.
You can enter your gameplay session as a workout in the Apple Watch app to count the steps taken to hatch the eggs. You will be able to use the following features with the Apple Watch:
- Log your gameplay session as a workout that counts towards your personal activity goals
- Receive notifications about nearby Pokémon
- Count steps to hatch the eggs and collect candies for your buddy Pokémon
- Receive notifications about nearby PokéStops and collect their items
- Notifications when eggs hatch
- Notifications when you receive medals
In the next few minutes or hours, the corresponding update for supporting the two devices should be available to you. You need to update the app to connect Pokémon GO with your Apple Watch.
