Pokémon GO brings a new raid boss. The legendary Pokémon Heatran takes over as a Level 5 raid.
It will be hot in December! The lava Pokémon Heatran heats up the cold fingers of the trainers in Pokémon GO. As Niantic announced on Twitter, Heatran will be the new legendary raid boss, after Cresselia disappears.

Heatran as the new raid boss in Pokémon GO
When does Heatran arrive? Heatran appears starting at 10 PM German time from today, December 18, in the raid battles. It directly replaces Cresselia, which has been guarding the gyms until then.
German players will be able to challenge Heatran from tomorrow morning, as no raids will take place after 10 PM.
Until January 15, you will be able to challenge the Pokémon. After that, it will disappear from the raids and make room for the next legendary Pokémon.
How good is Heatran? Heatran is a legendary Pokémon of type Fire and Steel. Its stats are quite good, and it will be one of the best fire attackers in the game. Its stats are as follows:

- Defense Value: 213
- HP Value: 209
- Max CP: 3754
Its stats are the best of all fire Pokémon. Its attack value is as high as that of Moltres, but it can take significantly more damage than the legendary bird. In terms of CP, only Ho-Oh is higher than Heatran. However, Ho-Oh does not have a fire-type quick attack and is therefore useless as a fire attacker.
Heatran’s disadvantage: The Pokémon has catastrophic moves. With Overheat and Fire Blast, its moves are significantly worse than those of Moltres. Moltres knows Fire Spin. This attack is much better than Fire Blast, which is why Moltres is the better fire Pokémon.
What are the best counters? Since it is of type Fire and Steel, types Ground, Water, and Fighting are very effective. It has a double weakness against Ground attacks, which is why these Pokémon are the best suited.
How many people do you need? You don’t need many people to defeat Heatran. Three good players should be enough to take down the legendary Pokémon.
