The Christmas event 2018 in Pokémon GO has been announced. This year you can look forward to new Pokémon like Shnebedeck and Mampfaxo – additionally, Shiny Botogel will be available for Christmas in Pokémon GO.
In 2018, Pokémon GO is hosting a Christmas event. You will receive bonuses and have the chance to catch new Pokémon throughout the holidays. During the Christmas season, one event follows another.
We will reveal what to expect and when the events will start
Christmas Event 2018 – What to Expect
When does the event start? From December 18 to January 2, trainers have the opportunity to receive great bonuses. These bonuses change every four days, and a new bonus awaits you. Here are the bonuses you can expect:
- December 18 to 22: You will receive double the amount of candies when catching and sending Pokémon
- December 22 to 26: You will receive double the amount of stardust when catching Pokémon
- December 26 to 30: You will receive double the amount of XP when catching Pokémon
- December 30 to January 2: You will hatch eggs twice as fast
At what time do the events start? If Niantic stays true to their style, the event will start on December 18 at 10 PM. Then the bonuses should change on December 22 at 10 PM. However, this is not confirmed yet, just speculation.
This is another bonus: During the entire event period, you will receive a free incubator each day that you can use once. You will receive it by spinning a PokéStop.
Which Pokémon will appear more frequently? In their announcement, Niantic mentioned the following Pokémon that will appear more frequently:
- Botogel
- Rossana
- Sniebel
- Seemops
- Quiekel
- Schneppke
- Pikachu with Christmas hat
- Shnebedeck (available for capture for the first time)
These Pokémon will hatch from eggs: In addition to all the Pokémon that spawn in the wild, you can get the following Pokémon from 7 km eggs:
- Azurill
- Kussilla
- Mampfaxo (available for the first time)
These Pokémon could additionally appear: In the image published in addition to the announcement, you can also see the Pokémon Klingplim and Glibunkel:
- Klingplim, the pre-evolution of Palimpalim, could be available exclusively in eggs.
- Glibunkel could also spawn in the wild.
The Pokémon have not been officially confirmed yet and are only visible in the image.
Are there new Shinies? Pokémon has already confirmed that Botogel will be catchable in its shiny form. Schneppke is also a Pokémon that can be shiny.
After Magby and Elekid are found as shiny variants in the 7 km eggs, one could also assume that Azurill and Kussilla will hatch as shiny from the eggs.
There will be new legendary Pokémon: The announcement image reveals something else: The legendary lake trio Mesprit, Uxie, and Azelf will soon be introduced in Pokémon GO. It can be assumed that the three legendary psychic Pokémon will replace the current raid boss Cresselia. This will disappear on December 18.
