The Community Day in October for Pokémon GO has been announced. This does not exactly inspire cheers in the community.
What kind of event is this? A Community Day is a monthly event where a specific Pokémon is featured and appears in high numbers with an increased shiny chance.
In October, Strawickl will be the focus. This Pokémon is from the 5th generation and has the types Bug and Plant. It can evolve into Folikon and then into Matrifol.
When does the event take place? The Community Day will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
All Bonuses for the Community Day with Strawickl
During the time from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the following bonuses will be active:
- Double the amount of candy when catching Pokémon
- Eggs will hatch four times faster when placed in an incubator during the event
- Double chance for XL candy when catching Pokémon (starting from Trainer Level 31)
- Lures and incense last for 3 hours when activated during the event
- Snapshot surprises
Additionally, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, these bonuses will be active:
- An additional special trade
- 50% less Stardust cost when trading
- Matrifol learns the fast move “Dark Claw” when you evolve it
Further content of the Community Day: During this Community Day, there will also be a chance to complete 4*-raids from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. If you defeat a Folikon, then additional Strawickl will appear around the gym for 30 minutes. The raid cannot be completed remotely.
In line with the event, you can also complete field research to obtain encounters with Strawickl, Stardust, ultra balls, and other rewards.
The PokéStop showcases will also be active. Here you can participate with Strawickl. Be sure to check the recent changes to PokéStop showcases.
Additionally, a special research will be available for $1 (around €1). There will also be a hyper box with various items as well as 2 event boxes during the event.
What does the community say about it? The community on Reddit is disappointed with the choice of Pokémon. Many would have preferred a Pokémon that fits better with Halloween.
