A new event has been announced in Pokémon GO. This brings some Shiny Pokémon with increased chances – and a completely new one.
What kind of event is this? The event is called “High Voltage.” It starts on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM and ends on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
As the name suggests, this event will feature several Electric Pokémon. In addition to a high number of Shiny Pokémon that you can more easily catch and a Shiny debut, there are also strong bonuses that come with the event.
The wilderness will become a Shiny paradise!
Which Shiny is new? In the event, you can encounter Morpeko for the first time, the Pokémon with a special trait in battles, in its Shiny variant. You can get it through field research, in a collector challenge, in snapshot surprises, and in a paid limited research.
You can also receive it as a reward in the Battle League.
Which Shiny Pokémon have an increased chance? The event brings you 3 Pokémon with increased Shiny chances. These are Emolga, Dedenne, and Togedemaru. All 3 Pokémon can be encountered in the wild during the event.
Since all 3 Pokémon are also supposed to appear more frequently in the wild, the event could bring you one or the other Shiny Pokémon while you are out in the wild in the game.
What bonuses are there in the event? Additionally, you can expect the following bonuses in the event:
- double the amount of XP for nice, great, or excellent throws
- double the amount of Stardust for catching Pokémon
- Sheinux* can appear in the wild
- Collector challenge where you can earn XP, Stardust, and a Morpeko
- Event field research
Sheinux can also appear as a Shiny. However, it does not have an increased chance of appearing as a Shiny.
Paid research: For $4.99 (or about €5.49), you can purchase a limited research. In this, you will receive 2 premium battle passes, 1 elite charge TM, as well as encounters with Emolga, Dedenne, Togedemaru, and Morpeko.
