For a few hours, a new event has been running in Pokémon GO. For 24 hours, players have the opportunity to catch female Pokémon more frequently.
How long does the event last? The event runs until today, October 12, at 10 PM.
What bonuses are available? Female Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild. Additionally, trainers have the chance to encounter the female, shiny Nidoran family.
Shiny Nidoqueen in the Game
Shiny family: The biggest highlight of the short event is likely the new shinies. This is the first time female Nidoran, Nidorina, and Nidoqueen are available in their shiny forms in the game.
Which Pokémon belong to the event? The focus is mainly on their female forms, which appear more frequently.
- Luvdisc (also available in shiny form)
- Snubbull (also available in shiny form)
- Pikachu (also available in shiny form)
- Clefairy
- Jigglypuff
- Woingenau
- Female Nidoran, Nidorina & Nidoqueen (also available in shiny form)
- You can even find shiny Nidoqueen in the wild
No additional bonuses: Besides the increased spawns, there are no additional bonuses, such as new raid bosses.
Why this event focusing on female Pokémon? On October 11, it’s International Day of the Girl. Niantic likely wants to raise awareness with this event.
Some trainers express dissatisfaction
Wrong timing: For many players, this event has been activated at the wrong time. Currently, the Psychic event is still ongoing. Another event at this moment seems too much for many trainers.
As user Crabominibble writes on Reddit: “So they just throw an event into an event.”
Maybe trainers can expect the Halloween event that Niantic hinted at soon.
