In Pokémon GO there is a legendary raid hour again this evening, on August 14th. This time it is all about Rayquaza. We will give you info about the time, the counters, and the process.
What is the raid hour? This event series takes place regularly on a Wednesday. During this time, there are legendary raids everywhere for one hour if there are no raids currently happening at the gym or an EX Raid has not been triggered there.
This event will now take place again with Rayquaza, after the legendary raid hour already took place last week. So you have a good chance of encountering many Rayquaza.
Raid Hour with Rayquaza – All Info
When does it start? This evening, on August 14th, at 6 PM German time it starts. 20 minutes beforehand, legendary eggs will appear at all possible gyms. They will hatch 20 minutes later.
The event will last for one hour, during which the raids will also run for one hour and not, as usual, 45 minutes.
What should I consider when fighting? Rayquaza is vulnerable to Ice, Rock, Dragon, and Fairy types. The best counters against the legendary Pokémon are Mamoswine, Glaceon, and Snorunt.
You can already defeat Rayquaza easily with just two players and do this at level 25. The right counters are crucial here.
Is the raid hour still worth it? This is already the 2nd raid hour for Rayquaza and the legendary Pokémon has been in the game for several days. Many trainers should already have some specimens.
Nevertheless, a Rayquaza raid is always worthwhile. It is considered the best Pokémon in the game, and a team of six with good IVs is definitely not bad. Additionally, you can always hope for a good shiny.
Coinciding with the raid hour, the stardust event is also running. If you manage to complete 10 raids within one hour, you will quickly earn 45,000 stardust with a star piece. So it’s worth it then as well.
How to quickly collect stardust is explained in our comprehensive guide to the event:
