The Egg Festival at Pokémon GO now also shows changes in 5KM and 10KM eggs. During the Egg Spectacle, Pokémon that were not previously available in the eggs will now hatch.
The Easter event at Pokémon GO has started and rewards trainers with double experience points for a week. Additionally, in line with the festival, there are changes to the eggs. Niantic announced that there would be a “greater variety” of monsters in the 2KM eggs. However, they did not mention that there are also changes to the 5KM and 10KM variants. As trainers have now discovered, there are also different monsters in them.
Egg Spectacle: Chikorita, Totodile and Cyndaquil now from 5KM eggs
Trainers around the world are currently participating in the Egg Spectacle in Pokémon GO . They are pushing their trainer level and diligently walking many kilometers to obtain the new and rare Pokémon from the 2KM eggs. We show you which Pokémon now hatch from the 2 Kilometer eggs in this list.
In this event, however, the developers have additional changed content for you that was not mentioned in the patch notes. Many of our readers were surprised on Facebook and our website when they found out that the starter Pokémon from the 2nd generation can now also be obtained from eggs.
Until now, these starters had not hatched from eggs at all. It was suspected that they would hatch from 2KM eggs when activated in eggs.
Currently, however, they are hatching from the 5KM eggs. Niantic has not yet made an official announcement regarding this.
It is expected that this change will only be active during the Easter event and will be deactivated on April 20th, with the end of the event. Until then, you will receive Chikorita, Totodile and Cyndaquil from the 5KM eggs that you have collected after the start of the event.
10KM Egg – What’s Porygon doing there?
Another new find of the event is related to Porygon, which no longer hatches from 5KM eggs. Trainers from the TheSilphRoad community have now discovered that Porygon has “moved up” in the egg category and now requires a 10KM distance.
So if you are looking for a Porygon, you should also give 10KM eggs a chance during the event. It is still unclear how long this change will remain in the game. Currently, one should assume that it only lasts until the end of the event.
