A dataminer has found new types of lures in Pokémon GO. These modules are said to specifically attract certain types and raise hopes for new Pokémon.
What are these modules? This form of lures is specifically for different types. In total, there are three different kinds that have been found. They are meant to attract Pokémon that like the following things:
- Pokémon that love the cold
- Pokémon that possess a magnetic field
- Pokémon that love moss
Overall, the new modules would bring fresh air to the items. We will show you the exact findings of the dataminer.
What the dataminer found about the new lures
These excerpts were found: The dataminer Chrales posted three long excerpts on his Twitter page that he found about the lures. There are three types that can each attract different Pokémon.

Which Pokémon could be attracted? Of course, there is no exact list of possible Pokémon. However, one can already make assumptions:
- icy lure
- Ice-type Pokémon, such as Quiekel, Schneppke, or Shnebedeck
- magnetic lure
- Pokémon like Magnetilo or Magneton
- mossy lure
- Grass-type Pokémon, such as Myrapla, Paras, or Hoppspross
This is also how the modules can be used: Chrales also wrote that the modules can be used for evolutions. This could indicate new Pokémon, players suspect on Reddit.
People hope for the Eevee evolutions Glaceon and Leafeon. They would fit with the icy and mossy lures. The magnetic lure would suit Magnezone. The evolution of Magneton is not yet in the game.
Also, the evolution of Nasgnet would fit with the magnetic module. In the console games, this Pokémon evolves only at special locations into Voluminas. Since Voluminas is a Steel-type, it could also be related to the magnetic module.
When will the items come into play? So far, this is just a find in the code. It is not known whether the items will actually make it into the game. However, it is to be expected, as Niantic often hides new features in the code before release.
If Niantic releases the new items, it could be soon. Such finds have indicated a release in the following days in the past.
One can only hope that Niantic fixes these bugs with a new update:
