In the past few days, there have been over 80 new monsters from the 2nd generation in Pokémon GO. This means that many trainers now have to get used to these new Pokémon and find out which are strong and which are rather weak. In this overview, we show you the 15 strongest Pokémon, measured by their CP values.
The Max-CP of the 2nd generation
CP values are the calling card of many trainers and their favorite Pokémon. These values roughly indicate how strong a monster is or how much potential it has. For a Pokémon to be considered “strong”, it is also important which attacks it knows and how high its IV values are.
According to Rankedboost, these are the 15 highest CP values of Pokémon from the 2nd generation:
- Ho-Oh – 4650 CP (Not yet in the game)
- Despotar – 3670 CP
- Lugia – 3598 CP (Not yet in the game)
- Entei – 3412 CP (Not yet in the game)
- Raikou – 3349 CP (Not yet in the game)
- Heiteira – 3219 CP
- Celebi – 3090 CP (Not yet in the game)
- Donphan – 3022 CP
- Psiana – 3000 CP
- Skaraborn – 2938 CP
- Suicune – 2823 CP (Not yet in the game)
- Scherox – 2801 CP
- Ursaring – 2760 CP
- Impergator – 2721 CP
- Ampharos – 2695 CP
If we only consider Pokémon that are already in the game, we still need to add a few to reach 15:

However, there are also monsters from the Johto region whose Max-CP is extremely low. The three Pokémon with the lowest CP from the 2nd generation are:

- Rabauz – 404 CP
