In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, it’s about asserting yourself against your opponents and being the last one standing. However, you can also win by doing practically nothing for most of the round and sitting in a broken car.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a battle royale MMO shooter where 100 players desperately search for weapons and gear. In a constantly shrinking game world, a harder battle for survival takes place until only one player is left at the end.
This all sounds like proper action and stress, but you can also win way more chill, as two friends proved recently.
The Revenge of the Sneaky Car Campers
But what exactly happened? The player Sir Lance and his buddy were playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds together and found a car. They raced through the foliage looking for enemies and gear. However, since PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is not fully finished yet and is currently only available in Early Access, there was a fateful bug accident.
Due to a programming error, a small bump in the ground caused the boys’ car to ascend vertically into the air and then come to a stop on its roof. However, the two occupants survived the accident and thought: “Let’s just stay in the car!”

So they did. The two players calmly sat in the car for over 30 minutes while the other players around them diligently killed each other. Occasionally, an enemy came near them, but the overturned car was not perceived as a threat by anyone.
Sir Lance and his friend, on the other hand, had a clear line of sight and could take down a few enemies unnoticed and steal their gear. They then proceeded just before the end – when the level limit threatened their hiding spot. The handful of clueless opponents that were still left were taken by surprise and eliminated after a few brief firefights.
“Did we really win like this?!”
In the end, the guys were astonished by their own success: “I can’t believe we won, even though we sat in the car the whole game,” Sir Lance remarked. However, it can be doubted whether their trick will work as well again. We have embedded a condensed video of the action here.
As Pc Gamer reports, the video has already caused a “copycat wave.” Other players have also tried this strategy, but… others are now aware of the trick and are reacting to it.
