PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been worsened in the last update and is now struggling with some unpleasant lags and FPS crashes. While players are raging on Reddit, the team around Brendan Greene is working on a solution. However, it will take some time.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is still in Early Access and therefore far from finished or error-free. This has become painfully apparent again after the last update. Instead of running better, the battle royale shooting game suddenly ran worse, had more lags, and some players experienced FPS drops.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Solution is coming, but not immediately
This development was understandably not well received, and on Reddit many players expressed their frustration and predicted the end of the game. Masses of players could not play properly anymore and would soon leave in droves.
However, anyone who knows the previous work of Bluehole Studios knows that the developers around Brendan Greene are anything but idle. According to a Twitter message, they are already working on a partial solution that somewhat alleviates the problem. However, a complete fix of the misery is not to be expected before the next big monthly update in June. This usually should be released in the last third of the month.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Developers hope for assistance against FPS drops
To quickly resolve the FPS drop issue, the developers are asking affected players to submit their hardware specs. If enough information is gathered, a solution could likely be found quickly. Depending on how diligently you send in your data, a hotfix should be available soon.
