In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds you don’t need a bulletproof vest if you want to protect yourself from gunfire. A cast iron frying pan will do!
The developers of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds have created an exciting battle royale survival shooter game where it’s all about bare survival. Every means is fair game for the 100 players per match to go home as the last survivor.
In the game, there are all sorts of useful items, from weapons to Kevlar vests to vehicles. But the ultimate protective object is the small, humble frying pan!
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Frying pans are the new Kevlar!
Frying pans have been around since the release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The cast iron kitchen utensils were previously rather modest melee weapons, with which you could only troll your teammates if you actually managed to kill them from ambush with the pan. But since the recently released monthly update of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the pan has taken on an entirely different value.
As players discovered by chance, the frying pan serves as an excellent bullet trap due to its robust construction! But watch out! Anyone who now thinks they can casually swat away bullets with the pan in hand like a kitchen Jedi or frying Genji is mistaken.
Rather, the pan acts as armor for your butt! Because when you equip the frying pan as a melee weapon but do NOT actively hold it in your hand, it will be displayed live on your character – like all equipment items.

The pan is then placed right above your butt. But it’s not just a fashionable accessory; it serves as a massive obstacle for all bullets. So anyone who tries to cowardly shoot you in the butt will instead get a spark-shooting ricochet. It looks funny and literally saves your ass!
Of course, this is of little help against targeted headshots, but who knows, one day such protection on the backside in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds might still save you the win!
