Diablo 4 now has several features that are intended to make the game more enjoyable and simplify the flow of gameplay. This includes the ability to salvage items without having to do so individually. However, this can inadvertently destroy important items that you actually want to keep, as the description may not be very clear.
What kind of click is this?
- You have the option to salvage all items at the blacksmith with one click to obtain materials. The same applies to the jeweler with gemstones and to the occultist with seals.
- However, you need to be careful specifically at the occultist: Here not only Nightmare seals are salvaged, but also compasses for the Hell Hordes and tributes for the Under city of Kurast.
- A click on “Salvage All Seals” destroys all of these items, even though they are not labeled as seals by name – unlike Nightmare seals.
How can I prevent this? This has already happened to some players on Reddit. Although the tributes and compasses are described as seals, some users assumed that only Nightmare seals are destroyed.
However, there are two simple ways to prevent accidentally salvaging items you want to keep:
- Simply place the corresponding items in your chest before you go to salvage.
- Mark them as favorites beforehand if you don’t want to go to the chest.
- Or you can salvage everything manually – which is likely to take the longest.
Since you can level glyphs in the pit, Nightmare dungeons mainly serve as a farming spot for Obsidian, although there are alternatives. Until Season 6, glyphs were the reason players traveled to Nightmare dungeons.
This is what a wing of the Under city of Kurast looks like:
Tributes are important for the new feature in Vessel of Hatred
Accidentally destroying tributes is likely to annoy many players. You need the tributes to customize the new solo dungeon “Under city of Kurast”. The dungeon is a race against time.
You must kill enough enemies within a limited time and collect “Tuning” to ultimately defeat a boss. Depending on the amount of Tuning, you will receive more or less loot. It roughly works like Greater Rifts from Diablo 3.
With tributes, you can define how you upgrade the corresponding rewards. However, doing so also makes the dungeon harder. The tributes are intended to adjust the challenge and provide you with better and targeted items. Accordingly, it is frustrating if you lose them.
If you are looking for new items that you want to specifically farm, you don’t necessarily have to rely on the Under city. It may be better to farm events and collect Obolus.
