In Once Human there may currently be a devastating bug preventing players from logging in. Fans feel betrayed that they have invested a lot of money. They are now demanding refunds.
Why do players want their money back? Players are reporting issues with their login on Steam. They cannot log in, cannot get past the loading screen, or have temporarily lost their characters.
In a thread regarding server and character issues on Steam, several fans report the same issue, despite having invested a lot of money into the game. Season 2 is supposed to launch soon, and for many, that would have been a reason to dive back into the survival game.
Unfortunately, discontent is high due to the issue, and some players now want the money back that they spent in the in-game shop. Others demand that the launch of Season 2 be postponed to make it fair for everyone.
Bug or a Ban?
What is behind the problem? Our colleagues at jeuxvideo.com have looked closely at the issue, and according to them, there was an exploit that allowed players to cheat their way into getting double the amount of real money currency.
However, the joy did not last long, as the developers quickly patched the exploit and punished those who had the double amount of currency. They were stripped of the additional currency, and players who had spent it received a negative balance.
According to the developers’ terms of service, accounts with a negative balance are penalized and even prevented from playing until their account is back in the positive. This could be one of the reasons why some players cannot play.
Once Human has many bugs: Aside from the cheaters in the community, however, Once Human is a game with many issues. Performance and bugs in the game cause problems for the fans. It is therefore also quite possible that this is a devastating bug preventing players from playing.
