The first Diablo with open world and a mount is also included. However, PC gamers benefit much more from the loyal companion in Diablo 4, with a trick they are significantly faster than players on PlayStation and Xbox.
Can PC players ride faster? Yes, indeed, you can ride faster on PC. However, this is not directly due to the PC, but to the input devices. One should rather say that players with mouse and keyboard can ride faster than controller players.
Since you cannot use mouse & keyboard on PlayStation and Xbox, only PC players can benefit from the boost.
How does it work? The riding speed on PC apparently depends in part on the position of the mouse cursor. The further away the cursor is from the character, the faster you progress on the horse.
However, the advantage lies with the boost on the horse. The speed increases on PC when you use the boost repeatedly in succession. On consoles, the speed remains the same. If you ride side by side without a boost, there is no difference in speed.
The trick has been circulating in the community for some time. However, a thread on Reddit has revisited the topic, and it shows: Many players are unaware of it. The thread creator initially received many downvotes because he did not provide evidence for his “tip” on an older thread.

Colleague Benedict plays on PC, I play on PS5. We tested this directly and started a small race.
Due to the high speed at the beginning, I had no chance. There was a cliff on the track where we had to dismount briefly. After that, Benedict had full boost again and could ride ahead further.
If you want to ride slower on PC, the trick works as well. If you bring the cursor closer to your character, you can trot leisurely through the area. Another trick for Diablo 4 is available in the short video:
Whether this is a bug and which input device works correctly is currently unclear. However, PC players can currently overcome shorter distances faster, especially. This is very likely not to remain the case.
