In Battlefield 5, a cosmetic is currently in focus. For $5, you can buy dirt on your character’s face. Many players are already making jokes and calling it “epic dirt.”
This is the cosmetic in question: Customizing your character works seamlessly in Battlefield 5. Now, some savvy players have stumbled upon a somewhat pointless cosmetic.
For $5, you can buy protection on your face. Particularly intriguing: There is a similar cosmetic that simply shows a bit less dirt on the face, for Company Coins. So you don’t have to spend real money on it.
You can invest $5 in a dirty face or just use Company Coins for almost the same cosmetic, which simply shows less dirt. This is not the first case in Battlefield 5 where a cosmetic causes a stir.
This is how the community reacts to the cosmetic
How did it come to light? On Reddit, a thread has already received nearly 5,000 upvotes. There, the user “tjoppie_FTW” shows the comparison of both cosmetics.
One can barely see any differences between the two cosmetics. Only the price differs here.
What do players say about it? The thread creator himself writes ironically: “Yes, I will pay $5 for a bit of dirt on my character’s chin!”
Under the thread, ironic comments continue almost endlessly. Here are some highlights:
- SirFappington007: “It’s not just any old dirt, it’s epic dirt!”
- magnoxxx: “Don’t dare to belittle the art required to create this! For one, it’s just dirt, but for the artist, it was a whole lifetime that led to the creation of THIS PIECE!”
- muzza798: “This is no ordinary dirt; this is first-class, naturally grown French dirt.”
- DylanHD34: “I can buy a 10-liter bag of dirt for $3.50 at my local hardware store.”
What do you think about this cosmetic? Would it be worth $5 to you, or do you find it just as ridiculous as other players?
DICE does not only make such things. They have also fulfilled a major wish for the players:
