Those who want to upgrade their gear in Diablo 4 need not only gold but also various materials. If anything, it’s the rarer items that are missing for the upgrades. However, fans are currently complaining that they don’t even have the simplest materials available.
What are players missing? Mainly the most common items needed to upgrade gear. This includes raw leather and iron chunks. On Reddit, the user Slow_Ad_2261 complained that no one can expect him to farm these materials in the endgame. You need hundreds, if not thousands, of them to upgrade items, while rarer items work with much less cost.
The current situation does not look good for the demon slayers. Known activities like the legions provided players with 600 to 800 examples of these common resources, now there are only 6 – 8 pieces. With 1,295 upvotes, Slow_Ad_2261 was not the only one with this opinion, and many share his pain of resource scarcity. However, Blizzard has noticed the outcry and has responded directly with an upcoming patch.
Fans despair, but Blizzard responds directly
What has changed now? Yesterday, on October 15, 2024, Blizzard responded with the patch notes for the upcoming update 2.0.3 scheduled for October 17. This will fix various issues, including the problem with the common materials.
The patch notes state: “A problem has been fixed where less automatically granted crafting materials were received in higher difficulty levels than intended.” Adam Fletcher, the Global Director of Community for Diablo, specified in his tweet on X.com that this refers to the fix for raw leather. Iron chunks were not mentioned, but it’s highly likely that this material was included as well.
What else will be fixed? Patch 2.0.3 will also fix various issues related to the classes. Talents in combination with aspects have sometimes not worked as they should. Additionally, there will be fixes for the party finder, the user interface, and events.
