One of the activities in Anthem is strongholds. A player has now shared on Reddit why dealing too much damage to the bosses in strongholds should be avoided.
What did the players do? In the Anthem subreddit, a player uploaded a video of the stronghold “Heart of Rage”. The description states that if you deal enough damage to the Monitor to defeat it in the first phase of the boss fight, the game will encounter a softlock.
Softlock means that Anthem will continue to run, but the players have no way to progress further.
What does the video show? The video shows players dealing enormous damage to the Monitor – and that in the first phase. The fight against the Monitor normally has three phases. Once the group has dealt a certain amount of damage to the opponent, it retreats and the next phase begins.
That the players are dealing so much damage in the first phase is actually not intended. It seems that the game no longer knows how to proceed. The final boss does not take any further damage, and the stronghold cannot be completed.
How did the player do this? The player has not further commented on the video. However, readers in the Anthem subreddit assume that the group has good gear and that the fight is taking place on one of the lower difficulty levels.

Some players take on the strongholds at a lower level to complete the daily tasks as quickly as possible. Some level the factions to unlock the challenge “Champion of Tarsis”.
To deal regular higher damage to the Monitor, players on Reddit give another tip: In the third phase of the fight, glowing orbs appear through which players deal higher damage when they stand in them. Some players were not aware that these are “good” orbs and have been avoiding them since the launch of Anthem.
