The loot shooter The Division 2 must now take action against the rampant cheating in the game. The problem has now escalated to the point that the servers are suffering from massive XP exploitation.
Fans of the Division series currently have a tough time. The main series has been dormant since the release of the DLC Warlords of New York in 2020, there has been no information for months about the two offshoots “Resurgence” (Mobile) and “Heartland”, the realization of a planned movie is uncertain.
The main series with the current title The Division 2 at least runs in a kind of extended maintenance mode. There are occasionally new seasons that bring small content bites to the game. Season 11, for example, brought new equipment and a fresh bounty hunt.
However, some players are also actively dealing with rule violations in the game. It is said to be particularly about XP glitches. This has now reached such serious dimensions that the developers must intervene.

Servers affected by XP glitches
What’s currently going on with Division 2? The team behind The Division left the following post regarding the situation on Twitter:
Tweet translation: “We are monitoring players who circumvent the game mechanics and systems to collect excessive amounts of XP in a short period. This has led to high latency on our servers, making the game unstable and less fun. We are monitoring this behavior and players who exploit such exploits will receive a temporary ban (14 days) after the first offense. Repeated offenses will lead to a permanent ban.”
For a long time, little attention was paid to XP exploits in the game. A ban wave caused a stir in the community due to the DPS glitches and the zombie boss glitches.
XP glitches were never a big topic. But there are many weaknesses to circumvent the system and draw more XP than planned from an activity.
Now it seems a point has been reached where even the servers are suffering under the load of many XP distributions.
What the future holds for the main series of The Division remains unclear. Ubisoft declared the game a financial flop and identified, among other things, the proximity to its predecessor The Division 1 as a problem. A game that took a long time to flourish – and then came Division 2.
Now the latest DLC of Division 2 is three years old, the loot shooter attracts little attention. Perhaps those responsible already have a plan up their sleeve, but there are currently no indications of that.
