Pokémon that should actually be available as Shiny in Pokémon GO are simply nowhere to be found by trainers. Where are the shiny monsters?
What is new? Once Pokémon GO sends a Shiny into the wild, it should remain catchable as Shiny in the future. But currently, two monsters can no longer be caught as Shiny, even though they were already available as Shiny in the wild. Players are desperately searching for the shiny form of Magnetilo, but they simply cannot find it. Shiny-Traunfugil also seems to have disappeared. Or are they just extremely rare?
Where is Shiny Magnetilo and Traunfugil? Did they fall victim to a bug?
The background: Recently, there was a similar case as the current one. Shiny Krabby could no longer be found, even though it should have been available in the wild. On Reddit, the question about its disappearance received a lot of attention. For weeks, no one around the world could find a Shiny Krabby. The problem was quickly fixed – Shiny Krabby is back.
What’s happening now: A user on Reddit named TheSorites started a thread. He asked the members of TheSilphRoad which Shiny catches they can confirm. The goal was to create a list of currently catchable shiny Pokémon. It turned out that players haven’t caught a Shiny Magnetilo for weeks.
Since the first week of December 2018, no new wild catch of the shiny form of Magnetilo has been reported. There are nearly 390,000 members registered in the TheSilphRoad subreddit. Such surveys can be easily conducted there.
That’s why players believe in a bug: Some Shinys took longer to be confirmed. For example, Shiny Azurill or Knospi, which can only be obtained by hatching eggs. They were confirmed after a few hours. After almost 24 hours, there is still no report of a catch of the shiny form of Magnetilo. Shiny-Traunfugil has also been missing since the end of the Christmas event in Pokémon GO.
Players believe that Niantic accidentally disabled the Shiny forms, which is why they cannot be found in the game. Now they hope that report from players will reach the developers and that they can reactivate the Shiny forms.
Update: Shiny Magnetilo is back! Trainers are now reporting their first catches again on Reddit. The problem seems to be solved. Shiny Traunfugil has also now been caught again.
A player does not have to worry about the missing Shinys anymore as he has already caught them all. How he did that, you can find out here:
