Players of Borderlands 4 are creating a mod to skip dialogues and save time. However, a developer warns against their use. They may potentially lead to mission states not being saved properly and not being recoverable.
What kind of mod is this? Some players of Borderlands 4 are frustrated that they cannot skip dialogues in the game. Especially for speedrunners or players who have already completed the game and thus already know the dialogues, the option to skip would be a relief.
For this reason, the community has now developed a mod that is gaining popularity. It is available on Nexusmods and can be downloaded by any player. With it, players have the options:
- to skip dialogues
- to completely disable dialogues
- to fast forward longer animations
On X, a post has called for the option to be officially integrated into the game. However, the suggestion received considerable backlash from one of the developers.
Developer cannot promise mod function for Borderlands 4
What does the developer warn about? In a post on X , the user lil_gasmask asks the developers of Borderlands 4 to officially incorporate this option into the game: “From casual gamers to hardcore challenge players / speedrunners – I believe I can say that most of us want this.”
The creative director Graeme Timmins responded to the post with a warning. He claims that using this mod could lead to missions being saved incorrectly and not being recoverable.
Regarding the demand to incorporate the option into the game, he further states: “This request is much more complex and risky than it appears at first glance, as the dialogues are integrated into our mission system. Don’t ask me how I know this.” (Source: X).
The mechanics in Borderlands 4 seem too complicated for such a function to be simply integrated into the game. It may therefore be that this option does not make it into the title at all.
