Currently, you can secure rewards for Battlefield 6, but only if you play the unpopular predecessor. One player tried it out and found: He actually had fun.
What are these rewards? In Battlefield 2042, there is currently the free “Road to Battlefield” battle pass, where you can snag 30 exclusive rewards for Battlefield 6. However, the items are available at levels 8, 19, 30, 40, 49, and 60. This means: If you want to get everything, you have to invest a significant amount of time. According to a post on X, the campaign runs until October 7, 2025.
The cosmetic items are all inspired by previous titles in the series – such as Battlefield 1, V, Bad Company 2, 3, and 4.
Now a player is speaking out on Reddit who just wanted to quickly farm some rewards and was positively surprised.
After Battlefield 2042 disappointed fans, many planned not to pre-order the new installment in the series. But apparently, they forgot all about it in the hype:
What does the player say about Battlefield 2042? The user LuaAstar posted on Reddit two images of a crying Hulk, with the text: “Guys… I am having fun with 2042.” Originally, he explains, he only played because of the BF6 rewards.
But after a single day with 9 hours of playtime, he draws a different conclusion:
“In the beginning, I actually just wanted to play for the BF6 rewards from the battle pass, but after investing a whole 9 hours in a single day, I can say: The game feels really good right now. Not as strong as BF1 or BF4, but still a pretty solid game.“
Battlefield 2042 is a completely different game today than at launch
What do other players say about it? The top comment with over 3,500 upvotes from ImmolateSociety states: “It’s fair to say that the game is in a better state than at release.” And SatisfactionLimp5304 goes even further: “‘Better state’ is an understatement. It’s literally a completely different game than at launch.”
The user Sir_Caerulus adds: “I randomly put in about 100 hours a while ago, and it was not buggy at all, the gunplay felt good […]. It’s still not an S or A-tier Battlefield for me, but it has its moments and is definitely a different game than the disaster at launch.”
WolfhoundCid expresses a similar view: The game is now in a much better state. However, one cannot overlook the disastrous launch and the wasted first year. And melanko dryly compares it to “the last week at a job” – you can enjoy it because you know it will be over soon.
The user Maverick_Hiro even states: “In a way, Battlefield 2042’s failure was a necessary step to bring Battlefield back to a more grounded approach.” Today, you can appreciate this installment more, as you know it didn’t kill the franchise – BF6 looks promising.
In the comment, the post creator explains that he will likely stick around until the release of Battlefield 6. Other users seem to feel similarly. If you want to secure the rewards, you still have a few weeks left – almost until the release of the new installment.
