A player has come up with something very special for the climax of her playthrough in Baldur’s Gate 3 . She collected all the explosives she could get her hands on during the game and made the final boss – and nearly her gaming PC – go up in flames.
What did the player come up with? The player shared on Reddit under the name “MissQueeney” a picture of her solo playthrough on the brutal Tactician difficulty. Along the way, she collected every piece of explosive she could find and saved everything for the grand finale.
In the fight against the final boss, she detonated all her explosives at once.
You can check out how it all looked here. To avoid spoilers, she deliberately chose a picture that is actually hard to understand due to all the numbers and status effects. Nevertheless, be warned that it could theoretically be a spoiler for Act 3 in Baldur’s Gate.
Not even a “monster PC” can keep up
How did the player manage that? If you also want to stage a massive fireworks display in Baldur’s Gate 3, MissQueeney has a few tips for you. She built her collection by sending all explosives to her stash with a right-click and stored them in a separate chest.
When it was finally time for the big fight, she made sure she could carry enough weight to lug the heaviest item around and transferred all explosives into a bag that was already in her inventory.
The way to the boss was said to be the hardest part because she was so overloaded: Instead of being able to use ladders or jump, she had to rely on flying.
The next problem was igniting the bomb. Because by throwing and striking, the bag just wouldn’t explode. Instead, in the first round, MissQueeney simply placed all her explosives – hundreds of barrels, bombs, fireworks, detonators – on the ground and retreated to a distant corner.
From there, she threw a fireball and enjoyed the show. Her character miraculously survived the showdown, the player reveals.
Some D&D players shudder in the comments at the thought of having to roll for so much damage and so many effects by hand. However, her “monster PC” also struggled, as MissQueeney reveals in a comment.
She only got down to 5 frames in 20 seconds, the player says. Before the game – or her system – could completely crash, the cutscene started. She then gave her PC a little break. For her next playthrough, MissQueeney apparently plans an even crazier action, but what exactly that will be, she does not reveal yet.
This kind of “creative problem-solving” is what makes Baldur’s Gate stand out in the eyes of many players. A Twitch streamer also proved to have creativity when it came to taking down a boss and even impressed the boss himself:
