A Pokémon player found an old game while cleaning up. And of course, he immediately tested whether it still works.
Many Pokémon trainers are very attached to their monsters and progress. Losing a game with all Pokémon can be a heavy blow.
A player on Reddit reports that he lost his version of Pokémon Sun several years ago. Now, he has rediscovered the version, by chance. And gained an astonishing insight.

More than 6 years in the wild
Where did he lose the game? As the player reports on Reddit, he lost his game in the garden more than 6 years ago. After realizing this, he started searching for it – to no avail. So he decided to get a copy of Pokémon Ultra Sun instead.
During recent cleaning activities in the garden, he finally found the long-lost game again. Externally, the game has suffered greatly from environmental influences. As can be clearly seen in the pictures he posted on Reddit, the game is discolored.
Nevertheless, he took the chance: he inserted the game into his Nintendo 3DS, started the console, and tried to start the game – successfully.

What did he discover in the game? As the player reports, the game started without any issues. Upon starting the game, he discovered that the save file was last saved on November 7, 2018.
From this, he concludes that the game was not only lost for more than 6 years, but also stayed outside all that time – and still worked. Despite the wind and weather.
The player fittingly writes: “These things are indestructible.”
Another commenter writes in the post: “See, these things are why I find Joy-Con drift so unforgivable. Nintendo used to make technology that was DURABLE.”
Joy-Con drift refers to a problem with the controllers of the Nintendo Switch, the so-called Joy-Cons. Here, the analog sticks of the console register inputs that are not made by the player after prolonged use, making the use of the controllers unbearable.
