No doubt, Borderlands 3 has been THE topic in the gaming community in recent days. An enthusiastic Apex Legends player has now created an intro in the Borderlands style featuring scenes from Respawn’s battle royale.
What kind of video is this? Reddit user McArctico showed the community a 2-minute clip. In it, legends from Apex Legends elegantly eliminate enemies.
They use their skills and finishers in time with the music. The song “Ain’t no rest for the wicked” plays in the background, which Borderlands fans should already know from the trailer for Borderlands 1.
A large part of the intro is inspired by the iconic scenes from Borderlands 1. Even though it doesn’t match 100%, players are very happy about the clip and the associated nostalgia.
Here’s why Borderlands and Apex Legends go together: When the intro for Borderlands 1 (watch here on YouTube) was released, it was a special video for a shooter. Instead of bland characters, the characters were presented as personalities.
This also fits well with Apex Legends, as the playable legends are unmistakable.
In the clips, the creator uses colorful graphics and overlays that remind of the Borderlands style. This is well received by the community in the Apex Legends subreddit. Both games share their shooter character. Thus, there are overlaps in the target audience.
