Player buys strange PC case for only 7 euros, not knowing how it works – Finds out it is worth 360 euros

A player bought a PC case for 7 euros. Officially, the case costs at least 400 euros in Germany. And for every player, the case is definitely not suitable.

What did the player buy? A player found a strange PC case at the used goods store Goodwill. He reports on Reddit that he paid only 8 US dollars for the case. That is about 7 euros. In another post on Reddit, he explains that he has no idea how this case works, but he bought it nonetheless.

At least financially, it was worth it for him. He shares a screenshot of how much the case officially costs, which is around 400 US dollars. In Germany, you pay at least 400 euros for the model.

What kind of case is this? The case is the Antec Torque. It is a midi tower. These are medium-sized cases that offer enough space for powerful hardware.

It is also an open-air case: The installed hardware is not surrounded by the case, but is exposed. This means that dirt can get to the components relatively quickly, and soundproofing is also limited.

The reviews for the Antec Torque are very mixed:

• The English-language magazine Techpowerup gives a clear recommendation, praising the high-quality craftsmanship and the many cooling options that are theoretically possible. Criticism is mainly directed at the rather complicated assembly and that there is little space for storage media.
• The English-language magazine TomsHardware, on the other hand, advises against purchasing and gives only 2.5 out of a maximum of 5 stars. The testers criticize primarily that the case gets dirty quickly and also many functions are missing that are common in most high-end cases. For the high price, this case is hardly recommendable.

In Germany, prices start at Geizhals.de at a minimum of 400 euros. That is quite a lot for a PC case. Most PC cases with higher quality features, like Fractal Design Terra or various showcases from Lian Li DAN, cost between 100 and 150 euros. And in most cases, a case for around 100 euros should already be sufficient.
