Path of Exile is actually a very extensive action role-playing game. However, the player tie23he managed to complete all ten acts in just two hours.
Who is tie23he? The player has already made a name for himself at this year’s ExileCon. He won first place in the epic Race Final at the convention.
Furthermore, he streams on Twitch, playing PoE and is quite successful at it. He has also done some speedruns in PoE before.
A New Record Thanks to OP Skill
What has the player accomplished? tie23he wanted to complete the campaign of Path of Exile as quickly as possible. He aimed to break the current record, which was set by Havoc, one of the best players in the world. He was among the first to reach level 100 in the history of PoE. Havoc managed to complete all ten acts of the game in two hours and nine minutes.
tie23he has now surpassed this. He completed Path of Exile in just two hours and 58 seconds.
How did he do it? tie23he plays a witch with the Orb of Storms. This orb is generally considered somewhat overpowered in the community, and in his two-hour run, tie23he shows why. In the lower levels, enemies pose no challenge for him thanks to the orb. The orb does most of the work, and the player just races through the levels.
The orb deals damage every second and has a cooldown of just 0.5 seconds. The mana cost is also not too high. Additional lightning skills increase the effectiveness of the orb.
The video clearly shows how the player basically just runs through the levels, and the enemies around him fall due to the damage from the orb. He repeatedly summons the orb when it has dissipated. The further tie23he advances, the higher his character levels up, and the better the gems used become, the more powerful the Orb of Storms becomes. Even larger groups of more powerful enemies no longer pose a significant problem.
Thus, he does not have to deal with all the hordes of regular enemies and can focus on the essentials.
The Record Will Be Hard to Beat
What has happened now? After tie23he set his world record, the developer studio Grinding Gear Games nerfed the Orb of Storms. This is now supposed to be less powerful, especially in the lower levels. Later on, however, it still will be.
The developers stated as a justification that this skill allowed a new character to level up too quickly and become too powerful too fast.
Balancing issues occur from time to time, including for example, with the Necromancer.
What does this mean? It will now be difficult for other PoE players to break tie23he’s record. At least with this build. Nevertheless, some will surely try.
