Path of Exile will receive the new Incursion Challenge League with update 3.3.0 on June 1st. Here you travel back in time to build your ideal dungeon full of loot. The expansion will also add new skills and revise other abilities. Incursion will remain in the game for approximately 3 months.
In Incursion, the explorer Alva Valai transports you back in time. Here you will locate the ancient Vaal Treasure Temple of Atzoatl and change its structure for the future. You will open doors to new rooms with keys you find or upgrade the rooms to enhance the loot in the future.
You can enter and change the temple a total of 11 times in the past. After that, you will visit it again in the present. Therefore, you should have opened and improved as many rooms as possible in the past to ultimately receive the best loot. The more monsters (Vaal Architects) you kill in the past, the more time you have in the dungeon to make changes.
You have 10 seconds to explore a room
If you have already played the Breach Challenge League, you know the general flow for this type of event. You have 10 seconds to explore a room. When you kill monsters, in this case the Vaal, the 10 seconds are extended. However, that’s not so easy, because you also want to discover as much as possible and open new rooms.
When looting, you have as much time as you want: In the Breach Challenge League, players complained that they didn’t have enough time to think about their loot. After all, there is limited space in the inventory and you have to decide what to keep and what to discard.
The developers at Grinding Gear Games have come up with a solution for this. At the end, there is now a room where you can spend as much time as you want. Here you can take a close look at each item and think about its stats before you travel back to the present.
Release is on June 1st – then there will also be new skills, items, and adjustments
The content update 3.3.0 will also bring you:
- 12 new gems – These are the gems you insert into your gear to gain new abilities.
- Approximately 20 revised skills, that adjust effects, mechanics, and balance.
- 28 new items and 20 new prophecy cards
The Incursion update starts on June 1st on PC and on June 4th on Xbox. After approximately 3 months, the challenge will disappear.
