In Path of Exile 2, the new season has brought many features that fans have been waiting for. Since the release, the developers have continuously released patches to address current issues. Now the developers are announcing a major update intended to resolve many remaining problems, but fans are reluctant to give up a particular bug.
What is going on with Path of Exile 2 right now? In Path of Exile 2, on Friday, August 29, the new season “The Third Edict” launched. It brings many improvements alongside the new season mechanics and moves the early access forward.
Since the release of the update, the developers have been busy fixing many bugs and issues with hotfix patches. A total of 13 such patches have already been released. Instead of releasing the 14th hotfix, the developers are now taking time until the end of the week to develop a larger, more extensive patch intended to solve many of the existing problems. However, players are unwilling to give up one thing.
Placeholder for Boss Arenas
Which bug are players reluctant to give up? Those who have reached the endgame in the new update have likely noticed some boss arenas without any boss present. Instead, a pack of elite enemies occupies the space and essentially warms the spot for the boss who is currently absent.
However, the developers want to ensure with the major update that such areas disappear and simply do not spawn boss arenas when no boss is present. The reasoning is likely that players can get trapped in arenas and cannot escape without a boss to defeat.
It’s a shame for the players, as they found this option amusing. SnooSquirrels1250 writes on Reddit: “This was one of the funnier spots in this patch for me when I imagined the boss not being home and for some reason a random minion has to guard the place.”
What else are the developers changing? Besides the placeholders, the developers have released a long list of changes. The most important ones include:
- Abyssal monsters can now be summoned as Spectres.
- The teleport strike from Kulemak’s Vessel can no longer be avoided, and the damage it inflicts has been reduced.
- The map modifier “Area is Overrun by Abyssal” now distributes pits over a larger area.
- The Spear Thrust of the Strider of the Pit now has a global cooldown, and they stop chasing you with their “Storm” skill when you are far enough away.
- The damage from the Crystal Wall used by Abyssal Stranglers has been reduced.
- The movement speed of the Shepherd of the Pit has been reduced, as well as the damage caused by its ground effect.
- The visual effect of invulnerability for the Faceless Murena has been improved. The ignition probability and damage from the explosion of its shadow form have also been reduced.
- Abyssal monsters now gradually introduce some of their abilities during the first three acts, instead of being able to use all their abilities from Act 1.
- The motion blur effect that was played when closing Abyssal pits has been removed.
All the changes and dozens of bug fixes that are to come with patch 0.3.0b at the end of the week can be found on PathofExile.com.
