In Path of Exile 2, the director discussed exclusive skins during a press preview for the new season. We’ll reveal whether these will also come to the West.
Which skins are involved? Path of Exile 2 is being produced for the West and is only familiar to most players in this version. However, the game is too dark and off-putting for the Chinese market, which is why the developers are creating a standalone version for the many players there that differs in several aspects from the “normal” version.
There are skins tailored specifically to that market, such as anime characters as companions or cute dogs and cats that players can own. Some players have expressed in the past that they wish these skins could also come to the West. MeinMMO asked the director, Jonathan Rogers, about the chances of this happening.

Nothing is excluded
Will the skins also come to the West? During a press preview for the new season of Path of Exile 2, MeinMMO asked Game Director Jonathan Rogers whether the skins from China would also come to the West.
Rogers initially explained that the skins are not created by the developer Grinding Gear Games themselves, but by the publisher Tencent specifically for the Chinese market. However, he did not rule out the possibility that some of the skins would make it into the global version.
He explained that they are looking at the skins, and those that align with the developers’ vision for the “normal” version may eventually be released. Therefore, it is not expected that anime characters and puppy dogs will soon fight skeletons and monsters in the Western version.
What about the skins from Path of Exile 1? Since the release of Path of Exile (1), the developers have continually introduced new skins into the game through dozens of supporter packs. Therefore, MeinMMO asked the director during the press preview whether new players would eventually be given the opportunity to purchase these.
However, Jonathan Rogers clarified that this will not happen. They promised the supporters that the skins would be exclusive and do not want to break that promise. Instead, the developers are offering new packs that new players can use to build their wardrobe.
