The developers of Path of Exile 2 have released a new video that is really well received by fans. Even before the release of their new class, they show what it can look like in the endgame.
Which class is it about? During the Game Awards, the developers of Path of Exile 2 uploaded a six-minute video showcasing their new class, the Druid, in the endgame. The video already reached over 200,000 views on YouTube within the first 5 hours.
The Druid is a special class in the game, as he can transform into various beast forms, gaining not only new stats but also abilities. It is also said that you can play the Druid as a combination of different forms, which makes him versatile.
What does this have to do with the Game Awards? The Game Awards ran almost parallel to the trailer’s release. Anyone wanting to showcase their game there has to pay quite a hefty fee. According to Kotaku, it is said to cost around $450,000 (approximately €383,700) to show a one-minute trailer at the show. If the trailer is three minutes long, the costs reportedly rise to over $1 million (approximately €852,800).
The video of Path of Exile lasts a full six minutes and would likely reach millions if it had been shown at the Game Awards.

Fans love the video
What exactly does the video show? In the video, developer Iben from Grinding Gear Games presents various endgame builds of the Druid from Path of Exile 2. He discusses the different beast forms the Druid can transform into.
He showcases a Shaman who relies entirely on the power of the elements, creating massive tornadoes that absorb all elemental effects and deal damage to enemies. He rarely transforms into a beast.
The second build in the video showcases a build for the Wyvern that revolves around the ability “breath of flames.” This is actually something like the ultimate of the beast form, but it has been modified in the build to be used more frequently and serves as a main ability.
There is also a gardener build presented by the developer in the video. This one is about letting as many plants grow automatically, defeating enemies by themselves. Against bosses, additional vines come in to deal extra damage.
The dog is known to be man’s best friend, and accordingly, there is a build in the video that makes the character the leader of their own wolf pack.
Finally, the developer shows a build for the bear, where it becomes a monstrous, furious fire monster that can trample enemies for up to 20 seconds.

Why is the video so well received? That we receive a video showcasing the class in the endgame even before its release has never happened with Path of Exile 2 before. With the new video, the developers have likely met the community’s desires exactly. Players write on YouTube:
- @gabrielhbcs: “Damn, you should do this for every new class announcement, I love it.”
- @exileblayde: “How to shake up the Game Awards. GGG: Yes.”
- @Axemania21: “I think it’s great that the tornado actually looks like a real tornado and not like a tiny funnel cloud.”
- @yukmoutb5885: “The demon bear looks more like Diablo than anything Diablo has produced since part 2.”
Players praise the content the developers have shown not only for the content itself but also because the format of showing what is possible even before release can be very useful as a decision-making tool. Criticism is hard to find here; the mood in the community is full of anticipation for the update.
Path of Exile 2 fulfills a major player wish with its update on December 12 by introducing the Druid. However, the release of the new expansion is not without controversy. Some believe that the developers have forgotten the endgame: Players cheer that the Druid is finally coming to Path of Exile 2, but what about the endgame?
