The MOBA Paragon (PC, PS4) gives an outlook on 2017 and announces a variety of new heroes.
The F2P-MOBA Paragon is quite satisfied with itself. In a letter to fans, they summarize:
We have 5.7 million registered players
In 2016, 25 new heroes were added
And we have deployed 132 patches since March
As a turning point, Epic highlights the Monolith update in November. Since it came, they have greatly increased the number of active players. In November before Monolith, there were only 182,000, but in January, there were 832,000 active players.
A new hero every three weeks in Paragon
In 2017, this pace is expected to continue. Every three weeks, a new hero will be released – except for around Christmas or when significant patches are pending. This should amount to about 15 new heroes in Paragon.
Recently, however, they have had too many melee fighters, so they now want to introduce more ranged characters.
Co-op mode and ranked play are coming
Further planned for 2017:
New game modes – two are already in development, a PvP mode that focuses on fast matches, and a co-op mode against the computer
Matchmaking will be completely renewed
Balancing and older heroes will be revised
With skins and loot boxes, Paragon should become more diverse
There will also be ranked games
