With the weekly update of the MOBA Paragon, Early Access players have a new hero duo named Iggy & Scorch available since today. This also marks the beginning of the first official Hero Race. What it is about and why you should not AFK constantly will be explained below.
Iggy & Scorch
A little eccentric gnome with a penchant for pyromania riding a two-legged dinosaur – that’s one way to describe a character from the Borderlands series. But this infernal duo is Iggy & Scorch, which debuts today in Epic Games’ MOBA Paragon.
This fiery character joins the casters and is capable of controlling large areas. For instance, he can place turrets to set fire under the backs of minions and enemies or protect himself from gankers.
Additionally, he has two more abilities at his disposal, the oil slick and the oil trail, which can quickly bring him into the action or out of a sticky situation, allowing him to set the world ablaze.
The ultimate ability is triggered with Scorch, who bites a Molotov cocktail and thus transforms into a mobile fire-breathing character. This ends with a belch that pushes your crispy flame-grilled opponent away from you. You can see how all this looks in action here:
Hero Race
All those who are enthusiastic about the new hero and enjoy a challenge, or simply have too much free time, can look forward to the first official Hero Race.
In this, the developer Epic Games rewards the first three players who reach rank 10 with Iggy & Scorch and thus unlock the Master Skin. This race will occur with each new character introduced in the Early Access phase. What exactly you need to do to participate can be found on the official Paragon page.
Watch Out, Absent Players!
To be among the first, you should play as many games as possible and not be one of those people who starts a match and then heads straight to the nearest fast food restaurant, leaving their teammates hanging.
Those who repeatedly think they can rely on their teammates for undeserved XP will soon face the banhammer.
Epic Games addresses the frequent complaints from players and is taking initial steps to create a better community.
Of course, the developers are aware of the issue that there can also be unwanted game disconnections. However, they assure that they are keeping a close eye on this to avoid punishing the innocent.
But if you notice teammates who are constantly staying in base or leaving the game and not returning, Epic recommends reporting them to player support.
The imposed penalties, by the way, are divided into three levels. Starting with a warning, if a player remains resistant to learning, a ban of 1 or 3 days will be imposed depending on the severity and frequency. If that is still not enough to change their behavior, a ban of at least 7 days threatens, but in the worst case, a permanent exclusion.
So stay fair and don’t ruin the game for your 4 other teammates by admiring the beautiful scenery of Agora.
