Palworld is currently enjoying a lot of attention: Over 100,000 players were back on Steam hunting monsters. What is the occasion?
This is how the numbers of Palworld are developing: Most will probably still remember the incredibly successful launch of Palworld. At its peak, over 2 million people were playing the game.
In the meantime, things have calmed down a bit and Palworld usually sees between 30,000 to 50,000 players. But now and then, there’s a spike – like last weekend.
Just last Wednesday, it went up to over 80,000, continued to rise, and on Sunday there was a peak of 122,512 players. That is the highest player count since January 2025.
And the reason? It probably lies in the collaboration with another very popular game.
Palworld and Terraria collaborate – apparently with success
On the platform “Bluesky“, the Communications Director “Bucky” from Pocketpair shared a message with Terraria creator Redigit. There, they expressed that they are simply big fans of Terraria and wanted to ask if a crossover would be possible. There are many Terraria fans: To this day, the game from 2011 is rated “Overwhelmingly Positive” on Steam, with 97% positive reviews since its release.
What started as a simple message turned into a major update for Palworld.
It includes content such as:
- A suitable dungeon
- New weapons
- New armor
- A new raid boss, the “Moon Lord”
- New Pals, new buildings, islands, and additional content
- Enemies build bases
- There are treasure maps
- And much more
In short: There’s a lot changing in Palworld. And that probably attracts both Palworld and Terraria fans.
By the way: Terraria is also set to receive a new update, featuring Palworld elements. It will be exciting to see how player counts in Palworld continue to develop.
