Yesterday, on January 8, the Hi-Rez EXPO concluded, where Paladins held its largest eSports event to date: the HRX Invitational. Paladins Season 1 Start
According to Hi-Rez Studio, the first competitive season for Paladins will start shortly after the Hi-Rez EXPO 2017. The exact start date for Season 1 is not yet known. The first season will initially launch only on PC. However, console players who are curious about Paladins can also look forward to it: Hi-Rez promised a beta start for PlayStation 4 and Xbox within the first quarter of this year.
Despite the competitive season starting, the hero shooter will remain in beta. The Hi-Rez EXPO ended yesterday, so Season 1 shouldn’t be too far away.
New Skins for Ying and Victor
With the first season, new content will be added to Paladins. This includes a skin for Ying in an oriental style, which turns the support into a genie. Viktor will receive a new skin that makes him look like a green soldier toy.
Ying-Genie-Skin
The Ying-Genie skin will come with four different head decorations and two weapons that match the oriental style. The skin was released with a short video and received only moderate feedback in the Twitch live chat.
Visually, the skin would be appealing, but most didn’t like the voice. In fact, something seems to have gone wrong during the voice line recordings. When the voice actress raises her voice, the microphone distorts.
Green-Code-Viktor-Skin
The Green-Code skin for Viktor also comes with a variety of different skin parts. You can assemble the skin from four different bodies, heads, and weapons. With these, Viktor looks like a green plastic soldier that you might find in game rooms.

New Map “Stone Keep” resembles a fairy-tale castle
The new map “Stone Keep” will also be released with the start of the first season. The map features a castle and a cathedral that fit Paladins’ fantasy style and appear fairy-tale romantic. The map will also promote corridor gameplay.
