Battleborn – The Battle for the Last Star

Outrageous, flashy, Battleborn. That’s how one could aptly summarize the shooter from Gearbox. Thematically, it revolves around the last remaining shining star in the galaxy, which attracts all sorts of quirky characters who want to claim this world for themselves.

Although there are numerous PvE missions in which you can hack your way through the enemies of the galaxy with some friends, the heart of Battleborn is also a comprehensive PvP mode. In this “Incursion” mode, MOBA elements are clearly mixed with a shooter. Players can place sentry turrets on the maps, recruit different mercenary camps, and must “push lanes” to achieve victory.

During the match, characters can gain experience and specialize and strengthen themselves through a rudimentary skill tree.

Unique features: Campaign and story DLCs

Unlike other representatives of the genre, Battleborn focuses on an exciting campaign. The battle for the last remaining shining star in the galaxy has begun, and various races are rushing to claim a new place to live. As with the Borderlands games, the campaign can be played cooperatively with several friends, providing many hours of entertainment and laughter on Teamspeak.

However, the campaign does not end with the last mission: for the future, there are more side missions planned, which will be released through paid DLCs. If these chapters have a quality similar to that of Borderlands, the game promises fun for a long time.

DLCs – What is there after the launch?

As with the Borderlands games, Battleborn plans to release a massive amount of DLCs featuring new maps and game modes. Players can already secure a season pass, which includes a total of 5 expansions, all of which are supposed to tell some side stories.

In addition, there are at least 5 more heroes that will be unlocked without a season pass or corresponding paid DLCs – they are completely free if you have purchased the base game.
