With Patch OB48, Seris comes to Paladins (PC, PS4, Xbox One), the Oracle of Abyss. Maeve, Mal’Damba, and Bomb King receive new skins. This significantly raises the level of the skins. We have summarized the patch highlights.
In Paladins’ Patch OB 48, we get a new champion: Seris, the Oracle of Abyss. She is a healing support character with a mystical, dark aura. Moreover, OB 48 seems to be an announcement for a new level of skins. It has little to do with simple “recolors”. In the new co-op mode, you play “Cops and Robbers”.
Seris – The Oracle of Abyss – Destroy or Heal Souls
Seris is the new support character in Paladins. With her lantern, she seems to collect souls to use them in battle. Seris is surrounded by a dark aura, although she is considered a healing support. The Oracle even currently has the strongest healing on a single target in the entire game.
Seris fires “Soul Orbs” at her opponents, causing them to explode. The explosion deals damage and heals Seris herself. Her ultimate creates a rift in reality that pulls enemies in. When things get dicey, Seris envelops herself in a dark mist that puts her into stealth mode.

Paladins Patch OB48: New Skins for Maeve, Mal’Damba, and Bomb King
Until now, there haven’t been many special skins for Paladins. If you look at the skins of Hi-Rez’s MOBA “Smite”, it is actually surprising. The game is bursting with detailed and sometimes very quirky skins. Hi-Rez likely wants to continue this trend in Paladins now.
Paladins mainly offers “recolors”, meaning color variations of the default skin. With Patch OB 48, 3 skins come that provide plenty of detail and changes to the champ. Hopefully, this trend continues.
Alley Cat: Maeve Gets Adorable Cat Ears
Maeve is said to have grown up on the streets and developed her cunning and talents there. She is known as a cat and receives a new skin that reflects the appearance. With the “Street Cat” skin, Maeve gets cat ears and a bell collar. There is also a cat tail printed on the back of her coat.
Biz King: Bomb King Becomes a Pimp
His Majesty receives a skin that makes him look like a king of modern times. In a pinstripe suit and chunky jewelry, the “Biz King” causes explosions on a grand scale.
Chancellor: Mal’Damba Becomes Noble as Chancellor
Mal’Damba’s “Chancellor” skin comes with a voice pack. You receive this skin from a chest. Mal’Damba and his snake are given a golden coating, adding refinement. Especially Mal’Damba’s snake has received many striking details.
Paladins: New PvE Mode in Coop – Cops and Robbers
In the new PvE mode, you play a round of “Cops and Robbers” with Lex and Maeve. Your team faces off as 5 x Lex against 5 x Bot-Maeve. Maeve’s bots have enhanced features such as reduced cooldown times for skills.
Patch OB 48 Fixes Bugs, Adjusts Interface & Champs, Brings Voice Chat
- Interface: The interface of Paladins is being overhauled with OB48. Among other things, the descriptions of some maps have been improved. The champion selection is now clearer and the abilities of the heroes can now be viewed here.
- Voice Chat: You now have the ability to directly talk with your team. OB 48 brings voice chat to Paladins.
- Champions: Almost all champions have received an adjustment. Work on the troubled Inara continues. She is still considered too weak. This time, Hi-Rez is giving her an increase in the range at which she can use her spear. Inara fights at long range, unlike most tanks, which the studio is now addressing. As expected, Lex receives further nerfs. His damage will be slightly reduced.
- Bugs: Mainly bugs in maps and champions are being fixed.
