Paladins welcomes the new Champion Lex in OB46. He belongs to the Flanker class and fights with Magnum pistols. We present his abilities and maps.
Lex is called “The Hand of Justice” and fights for the good in the world with his two Magnum pistols. As heavy as his weapons are, so is the responsibility that Lex has imposed on himself. He stands for justice and wants to protect the weak. At least that is what his teaser video suggests.
Overview of Lex’s Abilities
Lex will belong to the Flanker class and spreads justice with his two Magnum pistols. His complete skill set is based on his weapons. Lex stands for justice and executes it confidently with his Magnums. The pistols are huge compared to Lex and weigh as heavy as the law itself.
Lex’s abilities may seem quite simple at first. He has two weapons, he shoots with the two weapons. He has abilities that enhance his weapons and a mobility ability that allows him to glide forward quickly.
The most interesting ability that Lex possesses may be “Retribution.” Retribution randomly selects an opposing champion as a target. If you take down this opponent, you gain extra credits. With credits, you can buy items during the match. Once you are near your target, it becomes revealed to you. You can see it through all walls, similar to Cassie’s ultimate ability.

Flanker Lex’s Abilities in Detail
- [LMB] Magnums: Two Magnums that deal 700 damage every 0.7s.
- [RMB] Haste: Shoot with your Magnums extremely quickly and accurately at your next target.
- [Q] Retribution: A target for retribution is revealed when you are nearby. If you kill the target, you receive extra credits if it had a kill streak. When retribution is activated, a new target is randomly selected.
- [F] Combat Slide: Slide quickly in the direction you are facing.
- [E] The Law: Issue an infallible verdict that executes targets with 65% health or less. Targets with over 65% health take 600 damage and are slowed for 1s.

Leya says: When I first saw Lex, my enthusiasm was limited. He seemed rather boring and simple to me at first glance. But then I looked at his abilities more closely and realized how crazy “Retribution” is. This ability adds a bounty on kills, which brings a completely new level to the game.
I can already see myself playing with two blinders on. Only hunting for my prey for the extra credits! Regardless of whether it would make more sense to take out the opposing support. I’m not particularly keen on Lex’s other abilities. Perhaps “Combat Slide” will be fun to experiment with. A cooldown of 3 seconds is simply ridiculous. I still have mixed feelings about Lex and will get back to you after I’ve tried him out.
What do you think of Lex? How do you think he will perform on the tier list?
