Today, on January 8th, District 69 and Esports Burrito are going into the grand final of the HRX Invitational. There, they will be competing for a prize pool of 150,000 dollars at the Hi-rez EXPO 2017. Paladins is a promising eSports title.
This is what happened in yesterday’s semi-final
Thanks to a tree, things got heated in the first game (District 69 vs Abyss), while the second game (Esports Burrito vs Matchpoint) was rather straightforward.
District 69 vs Abyss
In the semi-final, District 69 faced off against Abyss, and it was exciting from the start. In the first game of the “Best of 7,” District 69 swept their opponents off the field, and it seemed like it would be a boring competition. But then came game 2 and the tree. Abyss chose the support champion Grover, who turned out to be a damage machine and became a hyper-carry. Team Abyss turned the game completely around with Grover and pushed Team District 69 into a corner, winning this match for themselves.
District 69, previously undefeated, was completely overwhelmed by the situation, as they lacked experience with losing games. In the third match, the tree was powerful again, and District 69 took a break – visibly nervous – to discuss a strategy. They managed to regroup, and they were able to turn the match in their favor – District 69 won the spot in the final.
Esports Burrito vs Matchpoint
Esports Burrito showed yesterday that nothing can come in their way too quickly. They swept Matchpoint away in a 4-0.
