In an exclusive interview with Mein-MMO.de, Hi-Rez’s CEO Todd Harris revealed that we can expect a beta release for the new mode Paladins: Battlegrounds soon. However, PS4 and Xbox One players will have to wait longer than PC players.
- For the newly announced 100-player mode Paladins: Battlegrounds, which is based on the battle royale principle, the Paladins chief mentioned a targeted release period.
- The studio Hi-Rez aims to release Paladins: Battlegrounds on PC in the first quarter of 2018. This will be in the form of a beta and not a full release.
- The beta release for consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will happen at a later date. The waiting period compared to the PC version will be at least one month.

Paladins: Battlegrounds – Release date on PC likely in the first quarter of 2018
Todd Harris confirmed that the release for Paladins: Battlegrounds on PC will be at the latest in March 2018. That is at least the goal that the team has set. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are scheduled for a later date. But why?
Todd Harris stated this to Mein-MMO: “This is related to two factors. On one hand, there are technical differences between consoles and PC. On the other hand, we want to receive feedback from players to refine Battlegrounds together with the community. Just testing with players on PC will take approximately a month.”
When exactly the release for PS4 and Xbox One is planned, Harris could not yet say.
