Tanjiro Kamado is the protagonist of Demon Slayer. In search of a cure for his sister, he faces numerous demons. However, there are two characteristics that were actually not intended for the demon slayer from the beginning.
What characteristics are they? While Tanjiro stands out with his checkered outfit, that was not enough for the editor Tatsuhiko Katayama. He asked the manga’s creator (Koyoharu Gotouge) to revise Tanjiro to make him look less boring (via MANGA Plus).
Therefore, Gotouge added two traits that have become an important part of Tanjiro:
His sun earrings
His scar on the face
While the editor thought the earrings would make Tanjiro look a bit feminine, ultimately, the design was approved. For the anime, however, other elements had to be added to make it more appealing for viewers. Thanks to the editor, the protagonist received the appearance we recognize from both the manga and the anime.
The fourth season of the anime is simultaneously available in many countries:

Tanjiro’s scar and earrings have become important
Warning, spoilers: Here we delve into background information about demon slayers and Tanjiro’s breathing techniques, which are based on the state of the 3rd season of the anime.
What role do they play in the story? Tanjiro received his earrings from his father. They symbolize the sun breathing, which becomes increasingly important throughout the story. In the anime, only Tanjiro and his father are known to master this breathing technique so far.
It was the first breathing technique invented by Yoriichi Tsugikuni. All other breathing techniques are derived from it.
The scar has also taken on an essential role. It is actually a mark for demon slayers. Both Tanjiro and the creator of the sun breathing had such a mark on their faces. Over the course of the anime, the color and shape of the marking on Tanjiro’s face change, indicating that it is not just an ordinary scar.
Originally, the scar was explained as something Tanjiro got when he wanted to protect his brother from a kettle of hot water. However, this marking has now even awakened and grants Tanjiro special powers.
Today, the Spotlight Hour with Glibunkel starts in Pokémon GO. We summarize all the information for you.
What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is an event that takes place every Tuesday in Pokémon GO. During this event, there is a Pokémon that is in the spotlight and appears almost exclusively and in large numbers during the event. As the name suggests, the event lasts for 60 minutes.
In addition to the Pokémon, there is also a bonus during the Spotlight Hour that is active for the duration.
Today, you will find Glibunkel in the Spotlight Hour, a Pokémon with the types Poison and Fighting that comes from the 4th generation. It can evolve into Toxiquak.

Pokémon GO: This is what the new season ‘World full of Wonders’ looks like in the trailer
Spotlight Hour on April 9 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As usual, the event will start today at 6:00 PM and end at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are active? During the Spotlight Hour today, there will be an experience points bonus when you evolve Pokémon. You can look forward to double experience points.
Can you catch Shiny Glibunkel? Yes, Glibunkel can also appear in its Shiny form during the Spotlight Hour.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? Glibunkel and its evolution Toxiquak are not exactly among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. At least in the Ultra League, Toxiquak is an acceptable Pokémon. However, there are certainly better Pokémon if you’re active in this battle league.
If you are aiming for the Shiny variant of Glibunkel, this event might be worth it for you. Although the Shiny chance is not increased, the large number of Glibunkel spawns gives you a better chance to catch such a specimen.
The experience points bonus for evolving Pokémon might be interesting for you if you have plans to evolve a larger number of Pokémon anyway and are currently collecting experience points.
Are you looking forward to the Spotlight Hour? Are you interested in Glibunkel or the experience points bonus? Or will you not be participating in this Spotlight Hour? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments. We have also compiled information about other events in April 2024 in Pokémon GO.

Since the release of Dragon’s Dogma 2, MeinMMO author Christoph Waldboth is fascinated by one thing above all: the open world. He explains here why he considers it great and what makes it special to him.
A new morning begins. I stand at the edge of a cliff, looking down into the valley. On my left and right stand my pawns, accompanying me on my journey through the vast open world of Dragon’s Dogma 2.
We tear ourselves away from the view and pack our things. We follow the narrow path and encounter a group of nasty goblins. We take them down swiftly and suddenly I spot the entrance to a cave behind their camp. To my surprise, a boss enemy is waiting inside. I grab its treasures and eventually exit the cave through another exit.
In the distance, I spot a village. Should I head there next? Or better yet, to the hill in the east, where a large statue stands and a… a griffin?
But I could also follow the river and fight the dragon that sleeps on the shore. So many possibilities. What should I do? Oh, and the main quest is still waiting to be solved. Not to mention the side quests.
Yes, Dragon’s Dogma 2 gives me plenty to do. After numerous hours in the game, I see the open world as a clear highlight. I would even go so far as to say that Dragon’s Dogma 2 has the best open world since Elden Ring.
Start video
For the launch, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will receive a final trailer
An open world that is truly free
Dragon’s Dogma 2 throws me into a fascinating, open world. Especially in comparison to Elden Ring, it feels almost realistic, not unlike our forests, meadows, and barren deserts. Sure, the dragons, ogres, and cyclopes still make Dragon’s Dogma 2 a fantasy game.
But it is not nearly as crazy as Elden Ring when it comes to the design of the world and enemies. That did not bother me as a fan of From Software; on the contrary.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 feels very grounded to me. I can easily get lost in the world. The immersion is right. A good example of this is the night. When I see the sun setting, I become nervous. I need to find a campfire quickly to rest. Because at night, the enemies are much more dangerous.
My pawns and I sit together by the fire. In my mind, I am already planning the next day. I wanted to explore the valley next door, and I know it is usually worth it. I almost always find some exciting discovery.
Fast travel can be left behind
Because I have a notorious fear of missing something exciting, I explore every corner of the game world. This works well because I can reach almost all the places I see. On foot, of course. I want to use the much discussed fast travel only in the rarest cases.
Otherwise, I would miss out on so much cool stuff. I only reached the capital of Vermund, Vernworth, after about seven hours of gameplay. I could have taken an ox cart relatively early on and fast-traveled there.
Instead, I made my way on foot and got quickly distracted. The game world is designed to suck me in. It wants to be discovered. The microtransactions from Capcom, which aim to undermine this important part of the gaming experience by allowing the purchase of fast travel items, feel very out of place.
Eventually, I ended up back at the main quest. At first, it led me repeatedly into the same narrow castle. But I wanted to be out in the open world, I thought. And then I did just that.
Once again, I forgot that I am the Awakened one. Instead, I preferred to butcher my way through groups of enemies, find cool loot, and climb the ranks. I combined ingredients and ensured a supply of provisions. I organized my inventory and made sure I wasn’t overburdened.
My pawns often showed me the way to hidden places. They also blended organically into the open world and brought it to life. In short: I became a part of the game world and was not just a guest.
All of that made and still makes me have so much fun that I concluded: The open world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is so good that it actually doesn’t need quests.
The quests are so open that I can’t avoid exploring. The solutions to the quests are rarely lying around; they need to be found. There are no thousand quest markers that I mindlessly run through, completely blind to the world around me. I have to look closely, observe my surroundings, and only then do I realize how beautifully and organically it is designed.
I like such things, but I understand if others are annoyed by it.
The journey will continue
Sure, eventually, the fascination with the game world will wear off when there are no new areas to discover and I am just running in circles. Then I will use ox carts and sometimes also a travel stone. And yes, the enemies already repeat themselves too often.
Overall, however, the impression is very positive. Other players feel the same way as I do. On Reddit, users like SnickleSauce write about how much they, too, have lost themselves in the world.
Similar to Elden Ring, Dragon’s Dogma 2 manages to create a sense of freedom with its open world that is unparalleled. The world feels authentic and believable. In contrast, titles like Skyrim or my personal ESO favorite Oblivion, where a quest giver sits at every corner, feel almost constructed and artificial. Of course, this is nitpicking at a high level.
I’ll spend many more hours in the open world of Dragon’s Dogma 2. How do you feel about it? Do you like the game’s open world? Or do you long for more guidance for players? Let us know in the comments! You can find various guides to Dragon’s Dogma 2 on MeinMMO.

The former biggest streamer on German Twitch, Antonia “Reved” Staab, has been on a streaming break for more than half a year. However, she has now returned for a YouTube video.
Now Reved celebrated a kind of streaming comeback – but hardly anyone saw it.
Start video
Whether on Madeira or at the mixing console – These are 5 of the biggest German Twitch streamers
Fans eagerly await Reved’s return
What’s the deal with the comeback? In March, Reved secretly returned to Twitch. Under the name “echtereved,” she streamed for an hour. This happened for a YouTube video, which was released on April 7, 2024.
The streamer wanted to find out how many followers she could reach with a completely new channel in one hour, without promoting it on her known social media accounts. The real streaming comeback will probably take a while longer.
How did the experiment go? At first, it did not go well at all: For the streamer who streamed to an average of 7,200 fans in 2023, it was noticeably unusual to have no viewers. She came up with all sorts of ideas to boost the viewer count: from provocative statements to self-promotion with friendly streamers to bribery attempts, Reved really tried everything.
After a few viewers who actually knew Reved stumbled into the stream, she reached up to 77 viewers and 64 followers – she also received a ban for self-promotion from her Twitch colleague Fibii. But Reved was quite satisfied with the result.
How was it received? Although the streaming return was probably only a one-time thing, some of Reved’s fans were happy to see her back on Twitch again. Many praised the idea for the video, but also expressed disappointment at not being present:
manjago: “I’m still mad that you didn’t let us know, poor Offchat.”
soufleurs: “Missing a stream from Toni is the worst thing that has happened to me this year.”
winssi3287: “Banger video and so great that you streamed again. There’s a whole different energy with you when you film a video in stream than when you film it without streaming.”
Reved clearly still has an active community that supports her and eagerly awaits her return to Twitch. This is interesting because many Twitch streamers are reluctant to take a long streaming break: viewers might find another content creator in the meantime.
This leads to a kind of culture of self-exploitation on Twitch: if you want to succeed, you have to keep “grinding,” ideally streaming daily for many hours. Perhaps the feedback that Reved receives from her loyal fans encourages some streamers to take a break as well.
A new cooperative game will be released in May on Steam. Even with the demo, it has already convinced some players. You can find out what to expect here.
What game is this about? Abiotic Factor is a cooperative survival game that is set to start Early Access on Steam on May 2, 2024. It is being developed by the studio Deep Field Games.
In Abiotic Factor, you take on the role of scientists who must take care of their own survival alongside their research. Every day they are threatened by various creatures, aliens, and nasty robots.
In the trailer, you can take a look at the gameplay, which is styled like the 90s and thus has a certain charm:

Abiotic Factor already reminds at first glance of Half-Life
The game tests and the latest demo version have been received so well by players that the developers decided to expand it. On Steam, they announced the release date for Abiotic Factor on January 25. Soon, all other players will also be able to convince themselves of the game in the Early Access version.
What can I expect? At first glance, it is clear that Abiotic Factor seems to be inspired by the first Half-Life. The characters and the environment deep underground strongly remind one of the classic game.
In Abiotic Factor, you can play with up to 6 players. As scientists and employees of a secret organization, you venture into a research laboratory plagued by anomalies and paranormal beings. With your research, you aim to find explanations for the occurrences.
Due to a catastrophic incident, these beings are now roaming free and turning your workplace into a battleground for survival. All isolation measures have failed, leaving you alone in the depths.
The following features are promised by Abiotic Factor:
You create your own character along with appearance and gear.
You choose a doctorate that grants you various skills and talents. This way, you can find the right role for you as a plant geneticist, defense analyst, or construction engineer.
You explore a large underground complex full of artifacts and failed scientific experiments.
Since your characters are not born fighters, you need to craft the right tools, weapons, and equipment to help you in combat.
You gather resources from offices, labs, and old vending machines.
You can design your base yourself and move it to another location within the research complex at any time.
A developer who was significantly involved in the development of Diablo 3 has long been engrossed in Last Epoch. Now, the former Blizzard employee talks about what distinguishes the two games – and why Blizzard could never have created something like Last Epoch.
Who is the developer?
Andrew Chambers was employed at Blizzard between 2011 and 2014 and from 2015 to 2020.
Chambers has been in the industry since at least 1999 and has in his portfolio works like Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War and Space Marine, as well as positions at Relic, Klei Entertainment, and Netflix. Today, he mainly works independently as a content creator.

This is what Chambers says: In a video on YouTube, Chambers compares the recently released Last Epoch with the Diablo series – specifically with Diablo 3, which he participated in. Last Epoch had captivated him for a long time.
He states in his video: Blizzard would have never been able to create something like Last Epoch. The main reason for this is the skills. They are much more complex and extensive in Last Epoch than in Diablo 3, but that seems to be exactly what action RPG players desire:
Although [the skill system] of Last Epoch is ridiculously complicated, I think that’s exactly what players want. You have your passives that you choose while leveling, a subclass that you level up, and then more and more skills that you unlock by selecting passives. […] That’s insane; it allows you to tailor a very specific class for yourself.
We couldn’t do something like that in Diablo 3. […] We didn’t have a stat system that would have allowed such complexity. The stat system is the heart of everything else related to it. If it’s fundamentally simple, then you are limited in what else you can do. […] With a broad stat system, you can make items, skills, and passives more complex or detailed.
In the meantime, there was even a system that was similarly complex to that of Last Epoch – with runes that needed to be used in skills and had specific affixes. However, that was discarded because it would have led to too much chaos. Chambers regrets that decision today.
In the end, Diablo decided to be less complex to appeal to more players: “We targeted a larger audience than just Diablo players. We didn’t want to just win over the Diablo audience; we wanted to expand it.” For that, systems needed to be more accessible.
We have already talked live with the heads about the future of Diablo 4:

Diablo still does some things better than Last Epoch
Chambers goes on to discuss features like the trading system of Last Epoch, which he believes every ARPG developer should take a look at. The two guilds that complement your playstyle are precisely what such a game needs. It caters to every type of player: those who prefer to go solo or with friends and those who enjoy trading.
Here, Blizzard made a huge mistake. The controversial real-money auction house of Diablo 3 and the opportunity to trade and resell items led to chaos and made it feel like there was no sense in actually earning an item:
The gear never felt like it was yours. There was no story behind it. It was more like: “Hey, I’m borrowing the best monk in the game and skipping the whole journey there.” That is not satisfying; that is the definition of cheating.
Nevertheless, Last Epoch is not simply the better game. Chambers emphasizes that he does not want to speak ill of Diablo. It has even spoiled all other action RPGs for him, as he says. He lists several features:
The game feel and gameplay in Diablo: using skills feels simply better in Diablo 3. The chaining and use of skills are excellent.
Diablo 3 has a deeper story than Last Epoch; you build a real connection with the characters. This was also a focus of the team, for which the endgame was neglected.
Cinematics – this is still something that no one can match Blizzard on.
Enemies and, especially, enemy families that allow for the creation of various enemies within thematic coherence in a corresponding area.
Paradox Interactive has announced that it will be discontinuing the development of Star Trek: Infinite. Only 6 months after the release, there will be no more updates, and expansions will also not be released. Fans are drawing their Bat’leths, unlocking the photon torpedoes, and unleashing a full barrage of hate on the Steam reviews.
What kind of game is this? It was actually a sure thing:
The strategy specialists from Paradox have been developing and refining the brilliant sci-fi epic “Stellaris” since 2016, for which there is already a good Star Trek mod.
Now they wanted to basically create an accessible Stellaris with a Star Trek skin to attract the fans. They commissioned a South American studio to implement it.
The interest in the game and the anticipation were high because there hadn’t been a 4x game in the Star Trek universe for 25 years, since Star Trek: Birth of the Federation.
The game was released on October 12, 2023, but success eluded it, and now fans are facing a harsh awakening.

Star Trek Infinite – Game features and pre-sale bonuses

Steam Reviews Drop to “Very Negative”
This is the reaction: The reactions are devastating: People are venting their frustration through negative reviews on Steam. The ratings have now dropped to a dark red “Very Negative” over the last 30 days. People are writing:
“That’s how you can blacklist yourself as a developer”
“Absolute disgrace”
“How can you ruin such a license?”
How did Star Trek Infinite perform? Poorly. At launch, the game peaked at only 5,526 players. Now there are about 120 online at peak.
Not even a month after release, Star Trek Infinite had already dropped below 1,000 players and could not recover from it.
And is that why they are discontinuing it? As GameStar speculates, issues with the developer Nimble Giant might also have contributed to the decision to halt development. The South American studio belongs to the struggling gaming giant Embracer Group, which has already cut jobs and laid off employees from the studio twice in recent months.
Perhaps they can no longer continue the development, and Paradox can or wants not to provide a replacement.
Buyers Feel Paradox is Breaking the Deal, Feel Betrayed
What is the problem? Star Trek: Infinite simply wasn’t good at release. Any “word of mouth” or hype fell through due to reviews. The reactions were rather lukewarm to restrained, discouraging purchases.
In any case, the enthusiasm for the game was not as great as Paradox had hoped, especially since Stellaris already had a fan-made Star Trek mod that many were satisfied with.
After the mediocre launch of Star Trek Infinite, players hoped that Paradox would at least continue to develop the game, just like the big other franchises that get better over time.
The fact that they are now giving up the title so early is seen as a breach of this deal.
Especially since Paradox is already under criticism for the botched release of Cities Skylines 2 and the end of Imperator: Rome.
Why wasn’t Star Trek Infinite good? The concept of Stellaris prescribes that you slowly build up in a secluded part of the galaxy and can spread and colonize new planets until you encounter the first aliens you deal with.
In Star Trek Infinite, you encounter the alien races right at the beginning of the game, but each of the 4 races (Federation, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians) has a vast hinterland behind them that they can colonize endlessly, leading to a crude gameplay experience.
Star Trek: Infinite was clearly inferior to Stellaris in its basic concept and simply did not ignite.
In EA FC 24 there are now brand new retro jerseys, and one of them has left the well-known streamer GamerBrother speechless.
One of the most famous German streamers for EA FC 24 and host of the soccer show At Broski, GamerBrother, discovered the new retro jersey of RB Leipzig during one of his streams and spontaneously expressed his opinion about it.
This is the jersey in question: As part of the current Golazo event, EA has released some retro jerseys for Ultimate Team, which can be purchased for 40,000 coins. Among them are kits from Borussia Dortmund from the 1975/76 season, Sporting Lisbon with a jersey from 1924, and Liverpool FC with its 95/96 jersey.
But the double DFB-Pokal winner RB Leipzig is also in the mix, with a jersey from the previous season 2022/2023.
In this jersey, RB Leipzig won the DFB-Pokal.
“I can’t handle this right now”
This is what GamerBrother says about the retro jersey of RB Leipzig: In his stream, GamerBrother was urged by his viewers to buy the jersey. In disbelief, he says, before he discovers the jersey in the shop: “I’ve read that a few times in the chat, but this can’t be true, right?”
Shortly after, GamerBrother sees the jersey, jumps up from his chair, and cannot believe what he sees on the screen. In his nearly two-minute rant, he says, visibly annoyed:
“You have 56 professional clubs in the Bundesliga and you give a retro jersey to RB Leipzig?”
“A retro jersey to RB Leipzig. What’s allowed in satire?”
“I can’t handle this right now.”
And also a: “Are you kidding me?” crosses the streamer’s lips. If you want to see the full reaction, watch the video from minute 16:33.

Why is a retro jersey for Leipzig so controversial? Due to its lack of tradition and a comparatively late foundation in 2009, Leipzig has a tough time with fans in the Bundesliga.
Bundesliga supporters view the financial support of RB Leipzig’s main sponsor as particularly critical.

Users often resort to everyday household items, which, in combination with their graphics card, lead to funny images.
One player has taken this to the extreme. He opted for a small firearm to give his 1,400 Euro graphics card the needed stable support.

Why a pistol as support? Deltarho describes himself as a collector and states that he has several versions of this weapon in his possession. However, the model used in his gaming PC is only a display piece that can serve as an original support due to its suitable dimensions.
I found that my Beretta 21A Bobcat is the perfect height to use as a temporary anti-sag support.

The strategy game “Imperator: Rome” has received 97% positive reviews on Steam in the last 30 days, even though the developers, Paradox Interactive, actually abandoned the game back in 2021. But fans and an active modding scene simply won’t let it die. After 3 years with fewer than 1,000 average players on Steam, it surpassed the 1,000 mark again in March 2024.
What kind of game is it?
Imperator: Rome takes place from 304 to 27 BC. This is the time when the Roman Empire was expanding. In 27 BC, Augustus, the heir of Caesar, was crowned the first Roman Emperor.
It is a large 4x strategy game where you can choose from countless factions: from the powerful Rome itself, which at the start of the game consists of a few provinces around Rome, to Carthage, Egypt, or Sparta, it’s all included. You can also play as a tiny tribe in Ireland.
You guide the fate of your country, decide on your army, the development of your cities, society, and the many different peoples that make up your empire: Should only Romans have power and all privileges, or do you grant the Etruscans and Corsicans the same rights?
Imperator: Rome is a mix of role-playing and strategy game, as every character in the game, every politician, every general and their families are simulated, having values and traits. Once you defeat a people, you can recruit their leading figures into your ranks, sell them into slavery, make them fight in gladiator battles for the entertainment of the people, or simply kill them.

Imperator: Rome – Announcement Trailer
The game sells well, gets good reviews – remains somewhat unloved
Why did Imperator: Rome flop? It didn’t really flop. The ratings at launch were okay at 76% on Metacritic, and sales were better than expected.
But: fan support was lacking at launch. Imperator: Rome had weak user scores and wasn’t received as well by fans as Paradox had hoped.
The reasons were many little things, as can be read in forum threads from 2021 (via paradox):
You cannot control the characters directly, but only have indirect influence over them
Players expected too much micromanagement. You quickly end up with many provinces, and the game became confusing
The vanilla version suffered from too many bugs and was difficult
The individual factions did not differ enough from one another (via paradox) – there was a lack of details and little things that distinguished each people from one another
Overall, the impression was that the launch was botched, and Imperator: Rome fell short of player expectations.
Many liked the idea of playing a strategy game in this epoch and following in Caesar’s footsteps, but compared to the long-established Europa Universalis or Crusader Kings games, Imperator: Rome fell too short.
That was Paradox’s decision: The developers at Paradox gave up on Imperator: Rome after just 2 years:
In 2021, development stopped, and the last of four expansions, “Heirs of Alexander,” was released
In June 2022, it was officially stated that development would be halted unless the game was taken over by another studio or there was “sudden renewed interest in the game”
The mind behind the game, Johan Anderson, left the project: For some Paradox fans, Anderson is somewhat of an antichrist. Whenever he leaves a project, it suddenly performs better (via reddit)
Fans react to the end of development with defiance and Steam reviews
What happened next? Starting in 2022, a strange development emerged for Imperator: Rome. The developers’ announcement that they would only continue developing the game if interest in it reignited triggered a kind of defiance reaction.
Now, the remaining fans of Imperator: Rome desperately wanted Paradox to see what a gem they were overlooking and treating so poorly.
They shared their opinions with Paradox through reviews on Steam or in posts on social media.
Patch, a great mod, and suddenly players are back on Steam
Did that work? At least a little. They got the developers to work on a new patch 2.0.4 in April 2023, a year after the game was supposed to be dead. However, it wasn’t a real victory. The developers said something curt: while they were releasing a new patch, they remained firm in their decision not to continue developing the game.
However, this new patch served as a foundation for the modders behind the very good Invictus mod to revive the game.
This is the current state: Currently, the reviews on Steam present a particularly strange picture:
Thanks to a surge of positive reviews, Imperator: Rome currently stands at “97 positive reviews” in the last 30 days
Many of the reviews say things like: “Revive the game, you cowards” or Bring it back!
And in March 2024, Imperator: Rome had more than 1,000 average players online on Steam again for the first time in 3 years (via steamcharts).
And is the game continuing now? No, they are still far from the renewed interest that Paradox called for in 2022. Instead of 1,000 players on Steam, they would need about 4,000 again.
However, on April 1st, someone played a cruel April Fool’s joke: Patch 2.1 was finally coming.
The joke was somewhat cruel, as even former game director Johan Anderson remarked.

Does the game deserve the great reviews? I spent 43 hours in the last few days with Imperator: Rome, also with the current Invictus mod, and say: No, the current 97% positive reviews are more of a defiant reaction that Paradox “abandoned its best game.”
Imperator: Rome is significantly better now with the current mod and the patch than at release, but still suffers from many of the original problems.
It somehow feels fleshless and colorless. The games tend to choke on micromanagement.
A major issue remains the missions, which feel repetitive and force players into a kind of corset: when one starts a mission tree, the game often feels passive and as if one is following a boring plan that mainly consists of waiting for timers to run out.
So, provinces must be developed and one must wait many game months to have the required resources.
Aggressive expansion faces numerous gameplay hurdles that also force you to wait: first, you have to wait for the penalty for aggressive expansion to decrease, then wait for stability to increase, otherwise, you will have to deal with rebellious governors and the Roman Empire breaks apart easily.
Great idea, but the roots of the game are too twisted
Fundamentally, Imperator: Rome is an intriguing mix of interesting ideas and plays in a fascinating era, but despite all the fan protests and efforts, the roots of the game are so flawed that neither Paradox nor a magical wonder mod can fix it anymore.
No matter how much fans wish from Paradox: “Revive it again, you cowards.”
Ultimately, Imperator: Rome remains the wrong horse – Paradox switched to the right one, Crusader Kings 3, 3 years ago. That was probably the right decision, as bitter as it may be for old Romans.
The streamer reports an update and says there was a misunderstanding between the Baller League and him. The current status is that “they are looking to see if maybe something can be done,” but the planning is quite last minute for him and his team now.
It is important to him that they do not plan anything “half-baked.”

The stream for the final of the Baller League is taking place
When is the stream taking place? The final of the Baller League takes place today, on 08.04.2024. In a recently posted story on his Instagram channel, HandOfBlood once again confirms that the stream will take place.
The stream will start around 6 PM on HandOfBlood’s Twitch channel. Eintracht Spandau is playing at 8:30 PM. However, the streamer hasn’t revealed exactly what is planned for the stream. We do know that he will, of course, also be there in his popular role as President Knabe.
What is the Baller League about? The Baller League, initiated by football stars Mats Hummels and Lukas Podolski, started on January 22. In a former hangar of the Cologne Motorworld, twelve teams play in a closed arena on a pitch measuring 50 × 29 meters without boards.
The teams, consisting of six players, compete against each other in 15-minute halves. A lucky wheel adds extra excitement to the game. The season includes 66 matches over eleven match days, and the Final Four takes place in a Bundesliga stadium, where the top 4 in the table determine the champion.
If you want to learn more about the Baller League, you can read about it here:
In Helldivers 2, humanity has won the battle against the robots, but just a week earlier, they surprised even the developers.
How were the developers surprised? Just a few weeks ago, hardly any player wanted to fight against the robots. Most players preferred to focus on the bugs and didn’t pay much attention to the general commands from the high command right at the start of the game.
But at one point, the behavior of the players changed. Suddenly, 70 % of the Helldivers fought against the robots and followed the general command.
This even surprised the developers; community manager “Spitz” wrote about it on the Helldivers Discord: “We actually expected that many fewer players would switch to the Automaton front, 70 % is huge.”
Soon, a new war bond will be released, here you can watch the trailer for the “Democratic Detonation” war bond.
How did so many players come about? After the beginnings of Helldivers were made, more and more players became interested in the general commands and the roleplay behind Helldivers 2. By the end of March, the peak was reached when 70 % of the player base decided to fight against the robots.
The players of Helldivers 2 are organized in many different communities that are interconnected. On Reddit, plans are regularly shared about which planets are next to attack. The players and their plans became better and better, and thus the final victory over the robots could also be achieved.
Do the players’ plans work? The players’ plans mostly work, but not always. This has already led to much discussion in the Helldivers 2 community. The “Bugdivers,” i.e., the players who only want to fight bugs, have been strongly attacked by the other players.
So much so that community manager “Spitz” had to intervene. He wrote on Discord: “70 % of the players fought against bots, and we brought Ubanea to 96 % before Draupnir fell. I would say people have no problem fighting where the general command sends them.”
Now that the robots have been defeated, only the bugs remain as enemies of the Helldiver. Currently, you can no longer fight against the robots, even if you don’t like the bugs. However, players want to have found that another faction is already involved: Players find evidence in Helldivers 2 that a new enemy faction is already involved

In Pokémon GO, there was recently an exclusive Pokémon available for real money only. We asked you for your opinion on this – here are the results.
Recently, the Blühende Wunder event took place in Pokémon GO. Part of the event was a ticket that you could only purchase for real money. The most interesting part of the ticket was the encounter with Zarude, a Pokémon that has not been seen in Pokémon GO for several years.
We asked you for your opinion on this. After you voted diligently, we now present you with the results.

Pokémon GO: This is what the new season ‘World full of Wonders’ looks like in the trailer
Almost a third of you are willing to spend real money for certain Pokémon
What was that survey about? In the survey, we wanted to know if you are willing to invest money in Pokémon GO for exclusive Pokémon or not. As of April 8, 2024, at 12:44 PM, 1018 people voted. The results are as follows:
No, I generally do not use real money in Pokémon GO with 421 votes, corresponding to about 41%
No, I only spend real money on items and other things with 292 votes, corresponding to about 29%
Yes, if they are rare or strong Pokémon with 199 votes, corresponding to about 20%
Yes, but only if I really like the Pokémon with 106 votes, corresponding to about 10%
While 70% of you are not willing to spend money on exclusive Pokémon, and even a whole 41% report that they do not spend any real money on Pokémon GO, nearly a third, at 30%, are indeed willing to spend money for the right exclusive Pokémon, provided the Pokémon are rare, strong, or of personal interest.
It remains to be seen whether Niantic will make exclusive Pokémon available for real money more frequently in the future. In the past, there have already been encounters with shiny Pokémon for real money.
Did you participate in the survey? How did you vote? And what reasons do you have for your decision? Feel free to share your thoughts and comments on this in the comments and exchange views with other trainers on the topic. We also have an overview of the upcoming events in April 2024 in Pokémon GO for you.

Faker apologized after a loss of his team T1, which was also the first time in his eleven-year career.
What did Faker apologize for? Faker, a long-time professional in League of Legends, apologized after a loss of his team – this was the first time in his eleven-year career that he made such a gesture.
After T1’s defeat to Hanwha Life in the LCK Spring Split, Faker stepped before the press to comment on the situation. He took responsibility for his team’s performance and regretted the outcome.
The cause of the team’s poor performance, Faker attributed to external factors, particularly that normal training for the players had not been possible for weeks.

The Life of Faker – Why He is a Living Legend
Cyber attacks on T1 make training difficult
Why couldn’t the team train properly? The players of T1 have long complained about internet issues caused by ongoing cyber attacks that affect the players’ normal training. Despite these challenges, the team tries to make the best of the remaining time and prepare for upcoming matches.
However, this issue is not new, as the LCK itself was already affected by cyber attacks earlier this year. Now, the efforts of the hackers seem to specifically target Faker’s team.
If the problem cannot be resolved, it could even affect qualification for this year’s World Championship, which would pose a serious challenge for the team.
Reactions from the community: The community seems to agree in a thread on Reddit that the fault does not lie with T1, let alone with Faker. Even eSports fans who are not fans of the team seem to see no blame on the team itself.
Some users write:
Migster257 writes: Lol to the people who call this a T1 apology. Faker has lost a hell of a lot in the last 8 years and has never made an excuse like this.
PistonsFan89 comments: It’s crazy that Riot hasn’t done anything for months.
C_lown notes: I’m not a T1 fan. My favorite player is TheShy, and he was just blown away by T1 last year. Even I can see this isn’t in T1’s hands and the situation was definitely not “fair”.
If you want to know why fans claim Faker has become Ryze, you can read about it here:
Michael “MckyTV” Doleys (31) received a lot of criticism for his plan to say goodbye with a Subathon from Twitch. Now he is backing down. What the future holds for the content creator, you can find out at MeinMMO.
What is the situation regarding MckyTV?
Mcky was one of the larger streamers on German Twitch for a long time, streaming an average of 5 to 6 days a week for 7 hours over the last 4 years (via TwitchTracker)
Many viewers and other content creators criticized Mcky’s plan, claiming he was emotionally blackmailing his audience – Gronkh called the plan “disgusting”
What is the new development now? On Saturday, April 6, Mcky released a statement on YouTube. In it, he explained that he would not be disappearing completely from Twitch and that no one should feel pressured to financially support the Subathon.
In a stream the next day, Mcky then canceled the Subathon entirely, instead there will now be a big farewell event.
Criticism from Gronkh will likely sting, as the streamer is seen as somewhat of a “big brother” of the internet for many.

XXL Event instead of Subathon
What is Mcky’s statement? In the nearly five-minute video, the streamer explains that he has taken the criticism following his announcement to heart and does not want to ignore it. Now he wants to reassure his fans: According to Mcky, no one has to pay for the Subathon to continue watching him.
Because the streamer has been running the non-monetized second channel Michilurk since 2021, where gaming is done at will. On this channel, he wants to continue streaming even after his departure – but in a completely relaxed manner and no longer as a full-time content creator.
The Subathon was still supposed to mark the end of Mcky’s streaming career: after that, he would no longer be a Twitch streamer and would only occasionally make an appearance. The project was supposed to run indefinitely, and any support was completely voluntary. “I don’t want to put anyone under pressure,” Mcky said.
However, the reactions apparently did not turn out as Mcky had hoped. In a stream, he addressed comments under the video, eventually stating that the Subathon would not take place as planned after all. Otherwise, it would leave a bad aftertaste, the streamer explained. If subs came in, he would always have the criticism in the back of his mind.
What should the farewell look like now? Instead of a Subathon, where the completed subscriptions from viewers would extend the duration of the streams, there should now be a big event. The “XXL Event” is supposed to run over a set, longer period, possibly until the end of the year.
Content-wise, not much should change from the planned Subathon: Mcky wants to invite streaming colleagues to his house in Madeira, produce content together with them, and provide entertainment around the clock. For example, there will be a LAN win challenge, cooking streams, and cool projects.
Similar to the original plan, fans should have the opportunity to financially support the event if they wish to do so. Mcky explains that the event would cost him a lot of money since he would be flying in friendly streamers and setting up equipment for them. The Subathon had originally been planned to cover these costs.
The entire announcement can be found on Mcky’s Twitch channel.
Finally, Mcky reiterates that he can certainly understand the criticism of his announcement. He has thought about it a lot in recent days and is taking suggestions into account in his planning.
A new role-playing game for the PS5 lets you become the notorious pirate. Although the first trailer does not show much gameplay, it can already convince players.
What game is it about? Flint – Treasure of Oblivion is a new role-playing game by the indie developer Savage Level, which is scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2024. However, a precise release date is still unknown.
The game will be released on the PS5, Xbox, and Steam.
In this turn-based RPG, you take on the role of a notorious pirate and plunge into a richly detailed world:

Flint – Treasure of Oblivion: New pirate RPG convinces with first trailer
What can you expect? The trailer does not show much actual gameplay yet. The short clips you get to see remind one of a mix between Baldur’s Gate 3 and XCOM.
At least at first glance, it looks quite interesting and might fit well into the recent hits of turn-based RPGs.
Flint – Treasure of Oblivion also promises several features that belong to a good turn-based role-playing game:
Prepare for challenges and battles by assembling a crew of various members with unique talents
Trigger skills and attributes with dice
Upgrade your crew with new abilities and increase your dice luck for greater success
Explore the game world created with Unreal Engine 5, stretching from the French city of Saint Malo to Central America
With a dynamic comic book style, the role-playing game aims to narrate your journey vividly and uniquely. In the game, you will regularly see small comic excerpts summarizing your journey narratively.
What does the community say? Even though there is not much to see yet of Flint – Treasure of Oblivion, players are already enthusiastic. This is evident in their comments under the trailer (via YouTube).
For example, the user BigDiamondGames asks in his comment: “An ARPG pirate game? Is that the game of the year or something?” The user gri22lybear seems to share a similar sentiment, writing in his comment that indie developers know what people want.
In another comment, a user writes: “Looks like a decent, fun, turn-based RPG with pirates; if there’s any magic involved, I’m 100% in. I’m 100% in even if it’s not, but why not.”
Other users express in their comments the suspicion that certainly some people who have no idea about good video games will criticize the graphics.
Starting on April 18, Abyss Online will launch a new MMORPG on Steam. The online role-playing game has already undergone a turbulent development, initially taking a dark path with NFTs and cryptocurrency, but it has reversed course and now aims to impress with PvP and sandbox elements. They see themselves as “EVE Online in medieval times, but with tasty changes for casuals.”
This is what the developers themselves say about Abyss Online:
The developers, Old World Labs, describe Abyss Online as an “epic MMORPG” featuring magic in an open fantasy world.
They emphasize their dynamic combat system with classless battles and a variety of weapons and magical abilities.
They promise quests that can be solved together with other players and intense PvP battles. There will be skills ranging from 1 to 100, but they will only be for PvE; in PvP, everyone is expected to use the same base.

Abyss Online shows pre-alpha gameplay in the trailer
However, they moved away from that idea. It was said that NFTs had not developed in reality as wonderfully as one had theorized. And a growing skepticism against crypto gaming had emerged due to so many scams and cash grabs.
The studio’s CEO even stated: No real gamer would play a crypto game. Thus, they abandoned that approach.
“Like EVE Online … in medieval times and better for casuals”
What do the developers say now? The site mmoingame conducted an interview with the developers:
Abyss Online is being developed by 2 developers in Thailand – both are “lifelong fans of the MMORPG genre.” The game is being developed with the Unreal Engine 5.
However, they have 70 additional freelancers worldwide working on Abyss Online.
Abyss Online will not have classes; instead, player abilities depend on the equipment.
The developers state: They are “extremely disappointed” with current MMORPGs and have now developed Abyss Online instead of waiting for better new games. They were inspired by the MOBA-like combat of Albion Online and have developed it further. They also see influences from For Honor and Mortal Online 2 in the combat system.
The developers describe their MMORPG as a “medieval version of EVE Online, but toned down a bit to make it more palatable for casual gamers.”
What will it cost? The game is expected to cost about $25 in Early Access, which starts on April 18 on Steam.
The eternal narrative of new indie MMORPGs
What’s behind it: The statements “We are disappointed with the MMORPG market and wanted to create our own game” and “It’s like EVE Online mixed with something else” are two sentences that one frequently hears from developers of new indie MMORPGs.
People who are not really game developers often say they are so disappointed with the MMORPG market that they now want to release their own game. This was mentioned by Steven Sharif at Ashes of Creation many years ago.
Even the later flop “Crowfall” was described by developers as “EVE Online meets the Sopranos.” EVE Online emanates a fascination as a sandbox MMORPG that many developers of new MMORPGs strive for.
The narrative of all these projects is: Before WoW, there were two types of MMORPGs:
Classic theme park MMORPGs like Everquest
Chaotic sandbox MMORPGs like Ultima Online
Due to the immense success of WoW around 2008, theme park MMORPGs have won and only WoW clones have been developed, which has led MMORPGs into a dead end.
Therefore, the goal with a new sandbox MMORPG is to bring back the fascination of MMORPGs and orient oneself again towards the freedom of Ultima Online or Star Wars Galaxies.
However, it must be said that smaller developers have no choice but to develop a sandbox MMORPG since theme park MMORPGs are huge projects that can only be undertaken by AAA studios and require many years of development and cost tens of millions of US dollars.
It’s certainly great that developers set such a big goal as an “MMORPG,” but before someone spends €25 on an Early Access title on Steam, they might want to wait for the initial reactions and the general vibe.
In the One Piece anime, Luffy really ramps things up again. In episode 1,100, we see for the second time how Luffy transforms into his Gear-5 form. This time, we can even see him fully transform. But this is not the only transformation in the episode.
Warning, there are spoilers here! In the following article, we will discuss the events from episode 1,100. The episode takes place during the Egghead Arc. If you haven’t reached that point yet and are afraid of spoilers, you can return later.
Why is the episode so good? In the episode, Luffy must face Rob Lucci. He is an agent of CP0, a secret organization of the World Government. Since the Devil Fruit user is a serious opponent, Luffy transforms back into his Gear-5 form.
This is the first time we see how it happens: Luffy drums on his chest, and we can hear drumming. His chest swells, and he begins to turn white from his hair. A ring of clouds grows around him, as is typical for the awakened powers of a Devil Fruit.
You can see his transformation in the following clip from newworldartur on Twitter, which I have already watched multiple times:

Luffy then receives his comic animations, as we know them from the fight against Kaido. He bounces around on the ground as if he is made of rubber. He can also change his size at will, and his eyes can pop out.
But he can also be serious: In the next moment, we suddenly see Luffy’s serious gaze reflected in Rob Lucci’s eyes. Then Lucci is sent flying with a massive blow against a wall.
The events are currently taking place on Egghead Island. You can tune into the storyline with the opening:

One Piece – The 26th Opening for the Egghead Island Arc has been released
Rob Lucci also has an awakened Devil Fruit
What about his opponent? But that’s not all: There is a second Devil Fruit that is awakened. We see for the first time how Luffy’s opponent also uses his awakened powers. The transformation is truly a visual delight:
Rob Lucci’s teeth turn into a terrifying set of fangs
He gets a leopard’s fur with massive claws
His hair turns into black flames
He gets the typical arc around the head that users of awakened Devil Fruit powers have
The animations are at a very special level, and the sound is bombastic. Especially the part where Lucci transforms within the smoke cloud looks just epic. For these reasons, I have already watched the clip multiple times.
Since the animator has just received his visa for Japan (via Vincent Chansard on X), he is now allowed to work in Japan. It could be that we will see even more of his brilliant animations in the future.
The current Japanese series “House of Ninjas” on Netflix has captivated our series expert Schuhmann. The series launched globally on the streaming service in February 2024 and is a global success: It reminds him of Star Wars.
What kind of series is it? “House of Ninjas” follows a family of Shinobi who have withdrawn from active duty after the death of their oldest son. The family tries to lead a normal life. But the Tawaras cannot succeed:
Father Soichi has transformed from the most powerful ninja to the bland owner of a failed distillery. He wants to live normally but cannot even drink the sake he distills himself: As a Shinobi, he is forbidden from doing so.
Mother Yoko wards off boredom by shoplifting.
Son Haru fills vending machines and eats meat as a form of protest – which is also forbidden for a Shinobi. Although he is a trained fighter, he cannot even approach the sweet woman at the snack bar.
Daughter Nagi loves the life of a ninja too much to give it up. She uses her acrobatic talent for spectacular art thefts but dutifully returns the loot.

House of Ninjas is coming to Netflix
The conflict between duty and free will is reminiscent of Star Wars
What does this have to do with Star Wars? The Shinobi live by a strict code: No meat, no alcohol, no romantic love – they also must never reveal their identity. A revealed Shinobi faces immediate death.
In the series, the rogue ninjas are regulated by a crude ministry called the “Ninja Management Office” that seems to monitor their every step and to which they must obey.
The Shinobi follow a strict regime and constantly struggle with the dictates of the code that is so deeply ingrained in them that they cannot break it, even if they long to be “normal” at last.
The Taware family, “the Jedi”, faces an organization of competing ninjas called Fuma. They make their own rules, are proud to make free decisions, and aim to destroy the prevailing order.
Like the Sith in Star Wars, they are driven by ideology, cruel rituals, and a will to power, unafraid to engage in internal power struggles and intrigue.
The parallels to Star Wars are evident in the character constellation and the central conflict of whether one should submit to strict rules or pursue one’s own goals. At some points, you can almost hear the villain say: “Come to the dark side. Here you can be happy.”
Is there a Yoda? The grandmother of the family takes on this mystical mentor role. She often laughs seemingly for no reason, murmurs wisdom to herself, and would actually be an excellent fighter if her back didn’t hurt immediately when she moves.
Who is Darth Vader? There actually is a character who fits this description, but they are deeply hidden in the plot.
The villains in House of Ninjas are well-drawn and understandable. Especially the main antagonist, the Nineteenth, exudes an allure of evil.
There is also the classic, slightly deranged and wicked killer woman as a side character.
Engaging entertainment for fans of martial arts and quirky families
This is what makes the series appealing: “House of Ninjas” is a quick watch with 8 episodes and a fast-paced story, but it takes the time to outline the characters’ conflicts and how they cope with the trauma of losing their oldest son.
At its core, it is a feel-good family series that mixes with an action thriller and offers spectacular fight scenes. Meanwhile, House of Ninjas is pleasantly soft in its drawing and quite clever.
The series assumes that the viewer is familiar with all the classic “ninja clichés” and playfully mocks them in many places: After all, “ninja” is only said by people who have no idea.
“House of Ninjas” is not a “typical Japanese series”; it does not feel foreign at all but is clearly produced with Netflix and the Western market in mind. The director is American but specializes in Asian materials.
The musical accompaniment particularly stands out: Here they use well-known English-language songs: The catchiest is Our House, originally by Crosby, Stills and Nash – in the series by Tomo Nakayama.
For me, House of Ninjas is definitely recommended. Those who enjoy martial arts and a somewhat different family and have about 6 hours to spare can certainly treat themselves to this well-made, solid series.
Is the series self-contained? Season 1 of House of Ninjas can stand alone. Although it is hinted in the storyline that the series will continue, Season 1 is self-contained.
Season 1 was very successful – thus, a Season 2 is likely, but not yet confirmed at the moment.

Stealthily climbs to first place among the most desired games
Especially fans of the genre have been keeping an eye on this title for a while. However, Manor Lords has now even sneaked to the first place on the most desired games on Steam. It has now surpassed titles like Hades 2, Black Myth: Wukong, and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
What makes Manor Lords so good? It’s quickly evident why the new strategy game has reached the top place among the most desired games and why it has become a significant hope, especially for fans of the genre, when you take a closer look at the gameplay.
Our colleague, streamer, and strategy expert Maurice Weber has had a chance to take a closer look at the game. His impressions: Manor Lords offers a satisfying experience, especially in the design of cities, where you can create an exceptionally organic urban landscape.
The game’s combat system is also highly praised by Maurice. He finds it to be better than in most strategy games and even compares it a bit to Total War.

Even in the construction of cities, Manor Lords impresses with its mechanics and possibilities. Since there are no fixed grids, you can freely place and rotate paths and buildings, giving you a lot of creative freedom in the design.
However, there are a few challenges you must master and conditions you should keep an eye on:
Trade routes are crucial for the prosperity and development of the individual regions
Seasons affect and determine harvest yields, hunting areas need to be allocated and cultivated, and production chains arise
You need to maintain the balance between import and export and impose taxes for services
You must carefully manage the population, assign them the right tasks, and keep an eye on resources and needs
The battles in Manor Lords are also intended to become a complex yet interesting task. They take place in real-time and require you to engage in tactical maneuvers. You don’t just send your fighters at the enemy but instead consider the formation in which you do this best.
You choose the best battleground, hire mercenaries, monitor the well-being and morale of your fighters, and pay attention to the environment and the weather. Because all these factors can lead to victory or defeat in battle.
You also determine the stance that your fighters take. You can have them approach aggressively and steadfastly, or you can decide that they should retreat slowly. For example, you can provide your archers with the opportunity for a deadly attack.
However, you should always keep an eye on your city besides the battles, as it might be under attack simultaneously. Losses in this way should be avoided. You should also consider that the losses from a battle can always bring significant economic damage afterward.
For this reason, you should also establish some diplomatic relations in Manor Lords that can ensure progress as well as fewer losses.
