Wargaming and Sega, along with their development studio Creative Assembly, have recently announced a strategic collaboration. Under the name “Wargaming Alliance”, the first title to be released will be an online strategy game called Total War: Arena.
Wargaming – known for the online games World of Tanks and World of Warships – is further expanding its role as a publisher and has recently partnered with Sega and the studio Creative Assembly. The result of this partnership is a new label called “Wargaming Alliance”. Through this collaboration, Sega aims to benefit from Wargaming’s experience in the free-to-play sector, while Wargaming gains access to major brands such as the Total War series.
The first title set to be released under Wargaming Alliance has already been established: it is an online strategy game called “Total War: Arena”.
What is Total War: Arena?
But what exactly is Total War: Arena? According to Wargaming, the game will be a free-to-play title where 10 players compete against each other. Each player commands three units, which come from the typical ancient civilizations, such as Roman legionnaires or Spartan hoplites. Additionally, we have a particularly strong general along with a bodyguard. Each of our teammates commands a similar force, resulting in a considerable army.
However, how exactly online Total War plays is still uncertain at this point, and we also do not have any information about an alpha or beta date yet. The project sounds exciting. In a YouTube video by the channel Pixelated Apollo, we can already take a closer look at the gameplay from the first alpha version. We have embedded the video for you here, enjoy!

The developers of Pokémon GO view the game as an MMO and compare it to WoW. Does this comparison fit?
The augmented reality game Pokémon GO was the hit of the summer. Millions of players around the world have fallen for the hype of the game and took to the streets to catch the virtual monsters. The game has already been installed over 500 million times. Although the player numbers are currently not as high as shortly after the game’s release, the developers plan a similar lifespan to that of World of Warcraft.
Critical players are important for Pokémon GO
In an interview with Eurogamer, Mike Quigley, the Chief Marketing Officer of Niantic, spoke about the rocky start of Pokémon GO and the long-term goals of the game. He admitted that the developers were not prepared for such a positive launch of the game and thus were unprepared in many areas.
At the time of Pokémon GO’s release, Niantic had not hired a community manager for the game, which is why there was almost no communication from the official side in the beginning. Currently, there are 70 people working for Niantic. Next year they aim to double this number to work together on the key features of Pokémon GO.
Quigley says that fans are especially important. Through their honesty and criticism, the developers can continue to work on improving the game. Recently, they added daily bonuses to reward trainers more for catching Pokémon and visiting PokéStops. The Halloween event in Pokémon GO was also responsible for a significant increase in daily players. These examples show that there are many opportunities to maintain the fun of the game in the future.
“We are more an MMO than anything else”
Pokémon GO is not meant to be a game that makes a lot of money once and then disappears from the scene. Quigley compares Pokémon GO to a major MMO title: “I believe the lifespan differs from other free-to-play mobile games. It is more comparable to World of Warcraft. Monetization was never our focus.” To maintain long-term enjoyment, the developers at Niantic continue to work on core features that make third-party programs unnecessary and conserve server resources.
World of Warcraft has been around since 2005. New content is regularly added via patches to provide players with new tasks. With expansions, larger content and new worlds are unlocked, where players learn more about the game’s history. Regular events could also help maintain the fun of Pokémon GO over a longer period.
The developers of World of Warcraft are proud of Karazhan. The numbers speak for themselves.
Patch 7.1 “Return to Karazhan” was in many ways an experiment by the developers of World of Warcraft. After almost all instances were rather short and players could often rush through the various dungeons in 30 minutes (or less – depending on gear), Karazhan took a different direction. The 8 bosses often take 2 hours or more, especially for players visiting for the first time it can take even longer. But is such content well received by the community?
According to Ion Hazzikostas, the Game Director, definitely. Last week there were over 300,000 groups worldwide in the search tool looking for members for Karazhan – excluding those who manually assembled their group.
The only problem for some players seems to be the long walks if they happen to die in the instance. Hazzikostas commented:
“We always take a close look at the walking distances. If it takes more than 90 seconds from spirit release to the corpse location, then we consider adding checkpoints or similar. We’ve long moved away from the 6-7 minutes walking times, like back in the day with C’thun in Ahn’Qiraj.”
Those who have not yet experienced Karazhan because they find the instance too long can rejoice. In a future patch, Karazhan will be split into two smaller instances, so players can also try “Mythic+” versions of the dungeon here. The original version of the dungeon will remain at its familiar size.
Cortyn states: I must also say that I thoroughly enjoyed Karazhan. The humor in many details and the nostalgia in many familiar yet fresh content pleased me quite a bit. Even though some players are already complaining that Medivh’s tower “steals way too much time from the evening”, I always enjoy visiting the tower. Just to experience the movement test with the final boss and wave at those who lose the staring contest with the final boss. I would love to see more of that.
The work on the “Realm vs Realm” MMORPG Camelot Unchained is progressing, and the latest version has received a graphics update.
The playtests have led to an increasing amount of feedback being gathered. This feedback not only concerns the mechanics, as players also want to see a beautiful game. The developers have now introduced bloom and light rays that fall through the foliage of trees. The screenshots released show very well how much this enhances the graphics of the MMO. The images depict an autumn forest with rich, vibrant colors. Different game areas will use different color palettes.
That looks really good
In addition, the adaptations of the human eye to the transitions from light to dark and vice versa will be simulated. Anyone stepping out of a cave into daylight will first be blinded. This will, of course, have tactical implications. Enemies may be lurking behind the cave exit, ready to ambush the temporarily blinded players. The materials for armor have also been visually revamped. They now appear more detailed and feature craters and dents, for example. Armor will also better reflect the colors of the environment.
The developers state that these graphical revisions are not yet finalized. They are continuing to optimize and want Camelot Unchained to look fantastic at release. The animations and weapons have also been revised by the team, and they have worked on performance. The developers are also currently working on optimizing abilities and network performance.
In the MMO shooter Destiny, we take a closer look at the Iron Banner fusion rifle “The Clever Dragon” – a fearsome beast.
Since “Rise of Iron,” “The Clever Dragon” has been the new Iron Banner fusion rifle in Destiny. Already in October, some Guardians obtained the dragon as a reward from a quest and praised it to the skies. Comparisons to the outstanding Grasp of Malok were quickly drawn.
Currently, the November Iron Banner is underway, in which this weapon by Efrideet is being offered. But what makes this weapon so powerful? How can you get it? And which perks make up the God Roll, the best possible roll? We will answer these questions below.
How to Get “The Clever Dragon”
You can only obtain The Clever Dragon when the Iron Banner, the monthly PvP event, is active. There are two possibilities, provided you have already completed the quest line with Efrideet:
The fusion rifle will be featured, as it was in November 2016. Then you can buy it from Efrideet with Iron Banner rank 5. Additionally, there is a chance that it drops randomly after an Iron Banner match.
During any Iron Banner, it can be randomly received as a reward for completing the Iron Banner bounties. However, the chances are low.
What Makes “The Clever Dragon” in Destiny
To not beat around the bush: This thing is powerful and is one of the best primary weapons in the game. The Clever Dragon belongs to the fusion rifle archetype with very low impact but high rate of fire. This also includes the Grasp of Malok and The Waltz, although the latter does not impress with its base stats.
The Grasp of Malok and The Clever Dragon stand out here, which has led to the community often reading: “The Clever Dragon is the new Grasp of Malok!” Let’s compare them briefly:
Both weapons have the identical rate of fire (77) and impact (4). The range is slightly lower for the Dragon at 31 compared to the Grasp (33), but stability is 58, which is 4 points higher. However, the Grasp of Malok has a higher reload speed (61 to 59) and a better aim assist (82 to 77). Overall, the “Grasp of Malok” has slightly better stats.
Here are the specific stats of “The Clever Dragon”:
Which Perks Make Up the God Roll?
With Efrideet, The Clever Dragon in the November Iron Banner comes with a strong roll that some Guardians – including some from our community – have dubbed as God Roll. Thanks to Perfect Balance and Balance Adjustment, the weapon becomes extremely stable. These two perks are probably essential for the God Roll.
Which additional perk is necessary for the God Roll can now be debated. High Caliber Rounds is a strong perk for a rapid-firing fusion rifle. At Efrideet, Snapshot is also available, which isn’t bad either. But if you have Perfect Balance, Balance Adjustment, and High Caliber Rounds on The Clever Dragon, you can confidently claim it’s the God Roll.
Currently, many Guardians with this weapon are seen in the Crucible. It is extremely strong, which makes it an excellent option for the primary slot. And unless Bungie changes the meta soon, it will likely continue to be so for a while.
What do you think of the weapon? Which perks do you think make up the God Roll?

Currently, there is a science-fiction MMO in development called Orion (PC), referred to by the team as “Every Man’s Sky.”
“Everyone wants the ultimate space game. If you are disappointed with other space games or feel deceived, we are here to make it right!” With these grand words, the team at Tek Industries is promoting the science-fiction sandbox shooter MMO Orion on the Kickstarter website. The developers aim to create one of the “best games of all time.” They also promise players that Orion will definitely be released. The Kickstarter campaign is only meant to determine how quickly Tek Industries can publish it.
Sandbox shooter, space action PvP, racing game, survival, and more!
But what is Orion actually about? Imagine No Man’s Sky but add many players you can interact with. You live in a sandbox galaxy and can explore many planets and moons there. You encounter dinosaurs, robots, and other creatures, and can mine resources for crafting. Since PvP also plays an important role, you will also encounter hostile players, which can lead to intense shootouts. Together with friends, you build large cities, stations on moons, space command centers, or inhabit caves on the planets.
Although Orion is a sandbox, and you are essentially free to do what you want, there are occasionally tasks to complete. These will earn you credits for the optional in-game store (which is supposed to contain only cosmetic items) or boxes with surprise items. The developers place special emphasis on the battles, as during these you can literally tear your enemies apart. Intense splatter effects and blood are already planned. NPCs, merchants, pets, companions, and even the option to play cooperatively on a local network are part of the game. Of course, spaceships and space battles also play a significant role!
There are also space races, duels in arenas, and survival is another important game element. It seems that Tek Industries wants to create the ultimate all-in-one game! All that’s left is for Orion to manage to eliminate diseases and wars in the world…
Kickstarter or Early Access?
Are you interested in co-funding the game that the developers claim will be the best space game? Then you can either participate in the Kickstarter campaign or buy the game via Steam as an early access version and play immediately. However, it should be noted that this is still a very early and unfinished version. Through the Kickstarter campaign, at least $20,000 are to be raised by December 27.

Two titles that the Pro impressively upgrades are FIFA 17 and Battlefield 1. Both games from EA (Sports) utilize the Frostbite engine, which can achieve even better results with the Pro.
Virtual football has never looked so good
The tech experts from Digital Foundry examined both games and are impressed. In FIFA 17, the improvement in resolution is convincing: the football simulation runs on the PS4 Pro in native 4K. No upscaling is needed. The end result: a title that is already graphically strong – EA Sports used Frostbite for the first time in the FIFA series with FIFA 17 – becomes even better with the Pro and gets a significant boost.
Moreover, the level of detail increases: thanks to the higher resolution, more details on the field are visible, making the look “richer”, which also survives downscaling to 1080p. Top-down gameplay remains at a steady 60 FPS.
The war visually enhanced
Months before release, fans looked in disbelief at the graphics of Battlefield 1. In the trailers and gameplay videos, BF1 showed how impressive the future of the shooter genre can look. The PS4 Pro lifts the spectacle to a higher level.
The end result is fascinating. DICE brings a Pro mode that provides noticeable upgrades that shine on Ultra HD displays. However, some of the top-end improvements seen on the PC are not present. Therefore, one should not have too high expectations.
BF1 does not achieve a full 4K resolution. It lies between 1080p and 4K. Nevertheless, a massive boost in picture quality is observable when comparing the standard PS4 and PS4 Pro on a 4K TV. A clear visual upgrade.
Additionally, the higher GPU power is used not only to display a few more pixels but also to increase framerates and make the game run smoother. Moreover, textures and terrain are supposed to appear of higher quality.
Conclusion: In FIFA 17 and Battlefield 1, all PS4 Pro owners receive a significant upgrade – regardless of whether they have a 4K TV in their living room or not.
The current patch of World of Warcraft, numbered 7.1, has only been live for a few weeks, but as the developers announced at BlizzCon, the next update is already in development. As Ion Hazzikostas indicated a few days ago in the Q&A stream, the “development” is already quite advanced, allowing the patch to possibly be deployed to the PTR as early as next Wednesday (November 16, 2016).
Features of patch 7.1.5 include the Timewalking dungeons from the expansion “Mists of Pandaria”, the revival of the Brawler’s Guild with familiar and new battles, as well as several “huge” challenges for multiple players.
Some patches have a “smaller” name – then no one complains about lack of content.
Additionally, there are some changes to the classes, particularly unpopular or overly dominant talents will be revised and the value of secondary attributes (Haste, Critical Strike Rating, Mastery) will be addressed.
Lastly, there are mini-holidays, which only last a single day and offer no lasting rewards, but aim to enhance the “flair” of the game.
Cortyn says: The pace that Blizzard is currently maintaining is remarkable. It is obvious that they have learned from years of unsustainable promises and now want to provide players with new content more frequently. It would certainly be interesting to see if this strategy pays off – but since Blizzard no longer publishes subscription numbers, it will likely be quite difficult to prove.
In The Division, the PTS phase of the Survival DLC and Update 1.5 ends today, November 14th. Additionally, a concrete release date has emerged.
Suddenly, everything is happening very fast. Last night, Massive announced that today, the public test servers for 1.5 and Survival will be shut down. These have been live for a week, allowing PC agents to extensively test the upcoming changes, especially the Survival Mode, and for Massive to respond to the feedback.
The PTS will go down today at 10 AM our time.
The developers thank you for your cooperation and assistance.
Possible release date for Update 1.5 and Survival has emerged
Now that the PTS phase is coming to an end, the question arises: When will the big DLC be released? The “Xbox Live” website already has an answer to this. Here is a screenshot of it:
According to this, Survival and Update 1.5 will be released on November 22nd for PC and Xbox One. So already next week Tuesday.
A confirmation from Massive is still pending, but this leak can be considered credible. After all, the developers stated that the next DLC should be released one month after Update 1.4, which could either be November 22nd or November 29th. Major updates are always released on Tuesdays. And since the PTS are now being concluded quickly, it is likely that Update 1.5 along with the Survival expansion will also be released swiftly.
Attention: While Update 1.5 will be released simultaneously on all platforms, Survival will arrive on Xbox One and PC about a month before the PS4. If November 22nd turns out to be the launch date, then December 20th or December 27th would be possible release dates for Sony’s console.
Back in June, it was said that Survival would be released sooner than expected. That was before the major plans for Update 1.4. However, this shows that the development was already far advanced at that time, which is why it is not surprising that it is now comparatively quick.
In Destiny a key voice actor has reportedly confirmed their involvement in Destiny 2.
He was the star of “The Taken King” and breathed life, charisma, and mischief into a somewhat sterile game: Cayde-6, who in the base game was merely the contact for Hunters, shone in “King of the Taken” and became a fan favorite with some memorable scenes. Notably, the chemistry between the laid-back Cayde-6 and the mysterious Eris Morn was spot on.
The secret: Cayde acted as a kind of surrogate for those players who, despite an epic and menacing story, simply could not wipe the smile off their faces. It was well received.

In English, Cayde-6 is voiced by TV star Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly).
According to a fan report on reddit, a Destiny player met Nathan Fillion at a signing event. Others in line, the redditor writes, were there to get Firefly stuff signed. The Guardian, however, had Cayde’s “book” with them – a bonus from the TTK Collector’s Edition.
Fillion, as the happy fan recounts, was thrilled to shake his hand, sign the book, and asked the Guardian if he would be back in Destiny 2. Fillion confirmed that he would be. He is in Destiny 2.
Looks like fans can look forward to more “Get your Rock off my Map” moments.
Admittedly, this is not official. We only have the redditor’s report and this picture of the signed book as evidence – but … that all sounds quite plausible and the thread on reddit brings a lot of joy to fans.
Cayde-6 has a special appearance in this fan comic:
Recently, PR candles from Activision have been summarizing as: Destiny 2 is going to be seriously awesome. Experience shows that Bungie will likely withhold most of the information until summer 2017, assuming they stick to a Fall release pattern for new Destiny titles.

Controlling Genji from Overwatch with a sword? It can be done with a Wii controller.
In recent weeks and months, we have seen players wanting to be especially close to their characters. This goes as far as using special controllers to be as “close” to their hero as possible. In the past, there was a player who controlled Winston with bananas and another who controlled Lúcio with a real turntable.
What is still missing from the list of strange input devices? Right, a sword for Genji!

Louis, a young game developer from Texas, connected a Wii remote to the PC, shaped it like a sword, and configured it with some additional software to be compatible with Overwatch. The result is that he can now represent the sword fighter “in real life” as well. At least during the 8 seconds of the ultimate.
The opinions of fans are divided on Diablo 3 – but the negative voices prevail. How satisfied are you with the Diablo 1 remake, which can already be tested on the PTR?
During this year’s BlizzCon, the developers presented a Diablo 1 remake that players can play within Diablo 3. In an event that takes place once a year, players can defeat the old bosses in a 16-level dungeon. There’s also a pixel filter intended to evoke a sense of nostalgia. After some players have already tested the event on the PTR servers, opinions on “The Darkening Of Tristram” are divided.
The dungeon is currently in the testing phase, and according to some players, the event needs more work before it should be released on the live servers of Diablo 3. It is said that while the basic idea of the Diablo 1 remake is good, the execution has not met the expectations of many players for a major BlizzCon announcement.
“The potential is there, but …”
As mentioned, there are both positive and negative opinions about the Diablo 1 remake in Diablo 3. In our comments, we read that “remake” is a clear misrepresentation, as it only involves “half-hearted dungeons built in the Diablo 3 editor with a pixel filter and messed-up controls.” On Reddit, Sithlord715 mentions that Blizzard had cool and nostalgic ideas for The Darkening Of Tristram, which, however, feel underdeveloped. For example, investing more effort in designing the different levels could enhance the gaming experience. For instance, the Hall of Agony was used for the hell setting in the dungeon, which some users on Reddit find “confusing” and “disappointing.”
Kripparrian: “RIP Diablo”
Kripparrian, known as a streamer and player of Diablo 3 within the community, has created a video on this topic. He says the graphics of the dungeon are pretty cool, but essentially, it’s just a large Nephalem portal with little loot. The reward is the worst gem in the entire game, and the event is only available in one of twelve months. For Kripparrian, the changes are a complete disaster and he bids farewell with a “Rest in Peace, Diablo.”
Positive feedback about The Darkening Of Tristram is rarely seen. On Reddit, _BaronScarpia_ states that he likes the changes. He believes this is mainly due to the music and notes that Diablo 1 has one of the best soundtracks. Although the pixel filter is somewhat “over the top,” the absence of lighting effects is another positive aspect.
If you want to see The Darkening of Tristram for yourself, you can currently do so on the PTR. We also link a gameplay video where you can see the event. Be warned of a strong spoiler alert, as the video also shows parts of the narrative of the update.

The placements of the ranked games in LoL must currently be enjoyed with a lot of humor. See for yourself how “interesting” the Flex Queue is.
After the 6th season of League of Legends ended, you can now already use the Flex Queue. However, there are some problems that cause frustration and mockery. It is quite possible that as a Bronze 5 player you have to face a Challenger player. Previously, Riot already stated that one would be “placed deeply” after their placement games. But they did not mention that you also have to compete against Challengers. A current bug makes playing particularly difficult right now.
LoL Ranking Bug / Incorrect Placements
At the end of the 6th season, Riot informed its players through an in-game popup that they would start in a lower league than usual in the new ranking. This is reasonable and also in the spirit of the ranking system. One should earn a good position and not be handed one. It is said that after the placement games you could end up in the Platinum league at most. A higher rank must be earned through games following the placement matches. However, some professional players were surprised by the results of this system. For example, Alex “Xpecial” Chu was astonished when he received the following ranking with 7 wins and 3 losses in the Flex Queue:

In the comments under Xpecial’s tweet, LoLZirene, a “League of Legends” caster, mentioned that a friend of his received a similarly confusing ranking. Normally, the friend plays in the Diamond league and recorded 5 wins and lost 5 games in his placement matches. Due to these results, he was only placed in the Bronze 4 league.
Bronze against Challenger in LoL – How is that possible?
Currently, players have a hard time in the placement games of League of Legends. Not only is your subsequent ranking and league placement incorrect, but the search for teammates also has “small” issues. Reddit user shadowalien13 has experienced these problems himself. He played the placement games and was not pleased when he saw the ranks of his opponents. Not only did he have to play against Gold and Diamond players, but a Challenger also made it onto the opposing team.
What does Riot say about the ranked issues in LoL?
In the forum, Riot Socrates stated that they are aware of the issues with game quality and placement errors. A short-term fix is supposed to resolve the issues for some, but not all players. To completely resolve the problem, a server downtime is to be expected. More details will follow from Riot in the coming days.

In Destiny, a Guardian shows what lies outside a PvP map. He overcomes the boundaries set by the game.
In the Crucible, the PvP area of Destiny, Guardians rush around various maps and mercilessly shoot each other down. These maps have fixed boundaries – after all, Guardians are supposed to fight each other, not get lost in the vastness of the Destiny universe.
These limitations often occur in the form of walls that cannot be crossed. If you cross a boundary in an open area, you receive a friendly reminder to turn back immediately, or else you will die. You have a few seconds to do so.
The YouTuber occur shows how extensive the PvP maps actually are if you can outsmart this “turn back” reminder. Check it out:

The Guardian uses a sword and the Titan subclass’s Super to reach these places. He also cautions that such antics should only be done in private matches. In public PvP matches, such behavior could lead to a ban.
Within a few hours, the video has generated thousands of views. It can probably be filed under: useless, but interesting to know.
What do you think about it?

In The Division we take a look at the new weapons coming to the game with Update 1.5.
Even those who cannot currently access the PTS themselves have already learned through the Patch Notes for 1.5 that new weapons are on the way. A total of 12 new guns and 4 named weapons are listed.
The YouTuber WOBO is known for his detailed and illustrative weapon analyses in The Division. He has now reviewed all unnamed weapons from 1.5. How powerful are they compared to other weapons? We present the results.
FAMAS – Assault Rifle
With 1.5, the FAMAS assault rifles come into play. They have a rate of fire of 900, a magazine size of 30, and an optimal range of 28. On top of that, they possess a unique talent:
Uncomplicated: Damage is increased by 15%, but precision and stability mods reduce this bonus.
By the way: If you have precision bonuses on the gear sets, the increased damage of 15% is not diminished. Only through mods.
The rate of fire is high, but the base damage is low. Compared to other assault rifles, the FAMAS performs as follows (white):
Notice: The increase of the line shows how much damage the weapon deals with a full magazine over what time. The horizontal line indicates the reload time.
MG5 – Light Machine Gun
This weapon comes in various variants and was accidentally leaked before Update 1.4. It is a strong gun with a rate of fire of 800, magazine size of 50, and range of 30m.
Compared to other LMGs, the MG5 makes a good impression (white):
As the weapon deals a lot of damage in a short time, it will probably be the new beast in PvP, unless it is nerfed before the release of 1.5.
M700 – Sniper Rifles
This sniper comes as M700 Carbon, M700 Tactical, and Model 700. It is quite similar to the SRS sniper rifles, but the M700 are more powerful, have a higher rate of fire, and can be reloaded much faster – which likely makes the SRS a weapon of the past.
The M700 has a unique talent:
Elevated: Damage is increased by 10% if you are at least 1.2 meters above your target.
For example, stand on a car to gain the bonus. 1.2 meters is not much. Here’s how the weapon performs in comparison:
93R and Rhino – Two New Pistols
The 93R pistols come with a rate of fire of 1100, magazine size of 20, and range of 16m. Rhino has a rate of fire of 350, 6 rounds in the magazine, and an optimal range of 18 meters.
The 93R shoots in three-round bursts and therefore has relatively low base damage per bullet. Rhino, on the other hand, deals significant damage per bullet:
UMP – Submachine Gun
The UMP SMGs have a rate of fire of 600, a magazine size of 30, and a range of 14 meters. The USC is also part of the UMP SMGs, but it has a magazine size of only 20, with a rate of fire of 650. In most cases, the UMP-45 submachine guns are the better choice.
They come with a unique talent:
Ambusher: Damage against enemies in cover is 10% higher.
Here you can see the comparison with other submachine guns:
Note: The strengths and weaknesses of these weapons can still change before the release of Update 1.5. We will report on that then.

Legendary items in WoW become even more legendary. We tell you why Blizzard is increasing item levels.
A few days ago, the community manager “Lore” had another opportunity for a long conversation with the game director of World of Warcraft, Ion Hazzikostas. In addition to many questions that were already answered at BlizzCon, there were also some news. The most exciting change is coming our way next Wednesday. With the upcoming server maintenance from Tuesday to Wednesday, a fresh hotfix will increase the item level of some items.
All items from the new raid “Trial of Valor” will be increased by 5 item levels. This means that items with an item level of 860 will now drop even on the “normal” difficulty. Helya on mythic will then leave behind items of item level 895 – the current maximum.
Helya’s loot will get even better.
Another change is coming to all legendary items that are already in the game:
All legendary items will be raised to item level 910.
The reason for this is that legendary items should still be considered “the best” loot available. By having nearly 15 points more than any comparable armor, their importance should remain high.
Furthermore, legendary items will be further upgraded with the opening of the Night Fortress, sometime in January. How exactly this will happen is not yet known.
Cortyn says: Since I am in the comfortable position of already wearing two legendary items, this change is clearly an improvement for me, which I will likely also notice in the damage numbers starting Wednesday. But also quite objectively, I find the improvement of these items sensible, so that they really remain “legendary” and are not exchanged for the next best epic with better secondary stats.
This is not always the case, as numerous users and the experts at Digital Foundry lament in a report. They criticize performance issues in some games on the Pro, which manifest as lower frame rates than on the standard PS4.
However, it should be noted that these disruptions occur only with some games that have “PS4 Pro” updates and only in certain situations. Nonetheless, such weaknesses should not occur on Sony’s Pro console – especially since they also appear in top titles.
Problems are reported to Sony
Not only smaller titles, such as Mantis Burn Racing, are affected. Even major Sony games, like The Last of Us Remastered, are on the list. One of the biggest titles in October, Skyrim: Special Edition, also suffers from the problems.
It seems that the enhancements from the Pro mode partially overwhelm the hardware. The problems occur in particularly demanding scenes. However, you usually do not have the option to run the game in “normal” mode, which means you cannot bypass the issues on the Pro.
At the end of the detailed report, which you can find in our sources, Digital Foundry shares that they reported their findings to Sony and received the following response from Sony: “We are aware of the issue and are currently investigating it.”
The following games are being investigated:
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Sombra hacks not only BlizzCon but also the PTR of Overwatch. There, she causes amusing glitches.
Although Sombra causes relatively few problems on the PTR of Overwatch overall, there are still some things that do not go completely according to plan. The “main actor” in this glitch is her “Translocator,” which she can throw to teleport to its position within 15 seconds. This alone is already a powerful tool to cause potential issues, but it is heightened in a private match where all cooldowns can be turned off.
Boop!
This allows Sombra to teleport to the Translocator while it is still in flight and throw it again…and again and again. This enables players to bypass the actual limitations of a map and ascend into the sky so high that even Pharah and Mercy can no longer follow. What you see in this is certainly not intended by the developers.
Many details that appear in the distance of a map are just simple facades and not “fully” designed. Since this is hardly noticeable during normal gameplay, it can probably be tolerated. Just check out the “Skydiving” video by the YouTuber Hoshizora who added some beauty to this glitch.

Cortyn says: In any case, it is cool to see the entire backdrop of a map and to realize “how much” and “how little” of a map is really designed. However, I strongly assume that Blizzard will soon introduce a change for Sombra so that she cannot throw her Teleporter further than the map boundaries. Nevertheless, this is again an interesting thing that Blizzard apparently did not consider in their planning. But that’s exactly what a PTR is for – to iron out errors.

In Destiny, the developers are pleased with the new Iron Banner and how players are responding to it. They are clearly more generous than before – this is appreciated.
In the Weekly Update, Jeremiah Pieschl, a Crucible designer, spoke about the new Iron Banner that was introduced with the DLC/add-on Rise of Iron . There were no significant changes, but they have adjusted the settings of the Iron Banner, tweaking the details so that the event now offers significantly more rewards, takes less time, and is fairer and more transparent.
Bungie has also removed the “Hardened” bonus. Previously, this ensured that players received more reputation when they joined the Iron Banner late in the week. Now it doesn’t matter; every day, players receive the same reputation.
Intentional losses to stay at a low rank were an issue
There have also been subtle changes to how ranks relate to the “After Match” rewards in Destiny. In the old system, some players wanted to intentionally stay at a lower rank to increase their chances of certain items because the pool of possible rewards was smaller.
Now, in the new system, you no longer need to reach rank 5 to unlock all items that can be given after the match. Every Guardian has a chance of getting all items. This alleviates the pressure on players to reach rank 5 and prevents scenarios like “No, I’d rather stay at rank 3 and lose intentionally”.
Four times as many legendary items from rewards as before in the Iron Banner of Destiny
Overall, the Iron Banner has been made significantly more generous. There are more rewards for completed Bounties – overall, players should receive four times as many legendary items outside of “After Match” rewards as before.
The feedback on all the changes to the Iron Banner, Pieschl says, is positive. They have achieved the goals they set out to achieve with the changes and will continue to look into it and improve the Iron Banner in the future.
What do you think of the changes to the Iron Banner – was it better before? Is it now too easy, too casual? Or do the changes work for you?
More about the current Iron Banner in November, which is definitely worth it now, can be found in this article:
Hero Shooter Battleborn (PC, PS4, Xbox One) has introduced a new hero, Beatrix – a kind of wicked nurse.
Together with the DLC “Toby’s Friendship Raid”, Gearbox also introduced Beatrix, a hero that will join what is commonly referred to as “hero” in Battleborn over the coming months.
Beatrix was once a scientist, and now she has developed a great interest, almost an obsession with hygiene and precision – and with inflicting life-threatening debuffs and diseases from her prosthetic arm. Sounds like a princess. She is expected to cost 47,500 credits once she makes her way to Battleborn. It can only be a matter of months.
Will likely be at the center of a new story mode: Oscar Mike.
New Content Planned: Oscar Mike vs. Battle School
As new content, they are planning a story mode called “Oscar Mike vs. Battle School” – but they are not revealing any specifics yet.
Three more story modes are promised as DLC – for fans of the MOBA mode, they are also planning something: a new “competitive” mode is set to arrive. Competitive – that’s the term used in modern language when players shoot each other down or infect each other with deadly diseases. And for that, as we just learned, Beatrix will hopefully be ready.
