In DC Universe Online , you can extend your “Free2Play” exception for DLCs. They are free for another month.
The superhero and supervillain brawler DC Universe Online now receives a new episode with fresh content every month. That adds up to quite a bit. To play the new DLCs, you usually have to be a premium member or unlock them individually.
The developer Daybreak had suspended this until the end of 2016 in November. Now they are extending it for another month. Therefore, all DLCs except the brand new Amazon Fury Part III can be played for free until January 31.

Patrick’s recommendation from 01.01: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Counter-Strike Global Offensive is the latest installment in the Counter-Strike series. In the team-based shooter, it involves planting or defusing bombs or rescuing hostages. Compared to older installments like Counter-Strike 1.6 or Counter-Strike Source, the current version features new maps, weapons, and game modes. Additionally, the graphics have been improved and some maps visually updated.
The ranked mode is particularly popular, where you are placed in a league system based on your success. The best players regularly compete in large tournaments, which consistently attract high viewer ratings for live streams.
Whether alone or together with friends on a voice server, CS:GO is a great game for “A quick round in between” or also longer gaming sessions.
The health insurers are raising alarm. Are so many young people in Germany addicted to video games?
Since the advent of computer games, there has always been the accusation that the medium is particularly addictive. And while many supposed experts throw around a lot of bold theses to gain media attention, it has been high time in recent years to approach the topic with a more nuanced perspective.
According to a new study by the health insurer DAK, nearly 5.7% of all young people between 12 and 25 years old in Germany are affected by video game addiction. Among boys, the rate is 8.4%, while among girls it is only 2.9% – significantly lower.
The basis for this claim is a survey conducted by the Forsa Institute, which questioned over 1500 children and adolescents about their gaming habits. Using the “Internet Gaming Disorder Scale” (9 criteria regarding gaming and social interaction), it was evaluated how many of the participants have a serious problem with computer games. For instance, whether there have been disputes with parents, whether social contacts are neglected, and whether one feels bad when unable to play for a while.
The Federal Drug Commissioner finds the results “alarming” and plans consequences for video games. Adjustments to age restrictions are being considered. For instance, there should be no “From 0 Years” limit for a substance addictive in nature, as is currently the case for many games. Generally, however, a more open approach to the entire topic is necessary.
Cortyn says: The addiction to computer games is a quite interesting, yet also challenging topic. Finding a clear boundary between what constitutes “addicted” and what does not seems nearly impossible to me. Of course, extreme cases can be classified quickly, but especially in the “gray area” many cases are ambiguous. Are you addicted if you play for 6 hours every day, but otherwise manage your life? That can probably only be judged on a case-by-case basis. What a luxury it is if you can simply label 8 hours of gaming a day as “work”…
All jokes aside. I find the criteria and specifications for addiction quite challenging. That gaming behavior (e.g. “4 hours per day on weekends”) leads to disputes with parents is logical – but one must also ask: Would one have had a dispute over a 4-hour round of Pen & Paper? I often think that there is simply still a lack of understanding on the part of the parental generation – even though the “first core gamers” are slowly bringing their offspring into the world. An easy assessment, in my opinion, is not possible.
A new year begins in January and at least in the MMOs there is nothing to complain about. Because in World of Warcraft you can expect a new raid, Paragon shines as a completely new game and the good old War Thunder has finally officially launched after four years of beta.
January may not offer any fun events like at Christmas or Halloween, but the first month of the new year is by no means boring. Five games are particularly interesting in January, as they present new, long-awaited contents. Read here what’s new in WoW, Overwatch, or War Thunder.
World of Warcraft – Elves fight in the Night Fortress
On January 18, the next big raid in World of Warcraft: Legion finally releases. This time, it’s going to the mighty Night Fortress, the bastion of the nightborn in the region of Suramar. The fortress consists of four wings and contains a total of ten bosses. The raid is designed for heroes at level 110. For now, there will only be the normal and heroic variants. The trimmed raid finder version and the hardcore mythic variant are expected to come in the weeks after the release.
Revenge on Gul’dan!
But why should one play the Night Fortress? What’s so great about it? First of all, the new raid looks extremely cool, as Suramar and the city of the nightborn are among the most impressive regions in Legion. And fans of the complex story of World of Warcraft will get their money’s worth here, as the Night Fortress was once built as the last refuge of the night elves.
This refuge has now become a nightmare, as the leaders of the nightborn have pledged themselves to the Legion and personally invited Gul’dan as a guest of honor to their lair. Your heroes have some scores to settle with the ugly orc since the start of Legion, so it fits quite well that the grim warlock is waiting for our swords at the top of the highest tower of the fortress as the last boss.
So many bosses, so much loot!
Gul’dan is just one of a total of ten bosses. In the four wings of the fortress, which extend from the aqueducts to the “Royal Athenaeum” to the Tower of Nightspire, we can expect many more end bosses. Among them are also old acquaintances like the Dreadlord Tichondrius or the treacherous Grand Magistrix Elisande.
Each of these end bosses is a proper challenge (except in the upcoming LFR mode) and after each victory, you can look forward to substantial loot. This includes new items such as the powerful tier-19 set. The item level ranges from 870 to 880 in normal mode, starts at 885 in heroic mode, and ends at a hefty 895 points.
Those who have seen everything in World of Warcraft: Legion should mark January 18 on their calendar, as the Night Fortress is sure to be a blast for all raid fans. However, those who just want to see the story and aim to realign Gul’dan’s shabby orc jaw should also have fun with the LFR version. However, this will probably not happen until February or even March.
Blizzard grants a player 2 days of free gameplay so they can farm their WoW token.
Those who are active in the official forums of World of Warcraft will encounter plenty of complaints and a level of expression that doesn’t really deserve the name. The truly beautiful stories, however, can be found on Reddit. There, user dealy_98 shared their experience with Blizzard’s customer service. Instead of complaining, they politely asked customer service if they could grant their account 12 hours of gameplay. They would use this time to farm the WoW token in the game, which they would then use to extend their gameplay time.
To the surprise of most, there was a positive response from customer service. Dealy_98 was generously gifted 48 hours of gameplay “for free,” allowing them to then earn their WoW token to extend their account in the usual manner. It seems someone at Blizzard was feeling generous.
Here you can see the original dialogue between the player and customer service:
Cortyn says: It used to be normal for Blizzard to grant players a few days of free gameplay during long server downtimes or outages – which can still be seen in the account history today. Nowadays, this has become rare, although server outages have also become rare. In any case, it’s a nice gesture from customer service. I believe that such an offer is certainly at the discretion of the staff, as when a friend of mine wanted to regain access to his hacked account, he also received a few days of gameplay as a gift.
In Destiny, a Guardian shows how he achieves world record times in the Sparrow races.
A few days ago, we presented some pro tips for the SRL shared by the Guardian Fro99ywo99y1. He recently spoke on reddit and mentioned that he had received numerous requests to record his skills in videos and upload them to YouTube. For most Guardians, it is unimaginable how he achieved the listed best times on the tracks.
Therefore, he now shows in the video how a pro drives Sparrow races. He assumes that he can further improve these world record times by the end of the SRL.

For the upcoming game Revelation Online, an animated film is in production. We have a teaser trailer for you.
Revelation Online is currently still in closed beta, but the developers want to promote the game significantly at launch and appear in multimedia formats. To ensure Revelation Online reaches as many fans as possible – and also attracts new ones – NetEase has commissioned the animation studio Sparkly Key Animation to create an animated film based on the game.
Nothing is known yet about the exact story of the film, but the trailer already hints that it will be inspired by Japanese anime series, meaning: dramatically slow-moving villains, magical girls, and an adversary of epic proportions. Whether the final film will ever be released in English is still unknown.
Be sure to check out the trailer and see for yourself:

Since the baby Pokémon from eggs have been introduced in Pokémon GO, it seems that the numbers of Pikachu and Magmar from eggs have decreased.
On December 12, 2016, Niantic announced that there are new Pokémon in the game. The baby Pokémon Pichu, Togepi, Magby, Elekid, Swablu, Cleffa, and Igglybuff can hatch from different types of eggs in the game. Since this announcement, the catch numbers of Pikachu or Electabuzz have however decreased. Can the evolutions of the baby monsters still hatch from eggs in Pokémon GO, or have they been replaced by the babies?
Evolutions from eggs have become rare
Some trainers from TheSilphRoad have taken a closer look at this phenomenon. Since the introduction of the new Pokémon on December 12, there have been few reports from players claiming to have received evolutions of baby Pokémon from eggs. However, the results from TheSilphRoad tell a different story.
From 1621 collected eggs, not a single evolution of a baby Pokémon (Jigglypuff, Magmar, Electabuzz, etc.) hatched after December 12. Although one trainer hatched a Pikachu, this trainer is not quite sure if it might have been an egg from an earlier period.
If one trusts this data, there are currently no evolutions of baby Pokémon in the eggs.
Additionally, there are changes regarding region-dependent Pokémon.
No more region Pokémon from eggs?
During the test in which they were on the lookout for evolutions of baby Pokémon, the testers noticed four other Pokémon that are missing. The region-dependent monsters that normally hatch from the specific regions’ eggs were not found in this test. These are Tauros, Mr. Mime, Farfetch’d, and Kangaskhan.
There has been no official confirmation from the developers that this report is true. During the test, the trainers from TheSilphRoad found plenty of other Pokémon, but no region Pokémon. Reports that these Pokémon hatched from eggs have significantly decreased since the end of summer.
Because region-dependent Pokémon often occur in their respective regions, they were often a disappointment when they hatched from the egg. Maybe that was a reason for this possible change.
Keep in mind that this is a test from trainers and not official reports from the developers. When was the last time you got your Mr. Mime from an egg?
In Destiny we look back at the year 2016. What were the highlights of the MMO shooter?
With Destiny, we are concluding our series of game-specific year-in-review articles today. Since December 24th, we have been presenting daily the best news and most important events of our strongest games in 2016. Bungie’s MMO shooter represents the crowning conclusion, which is still the most significant game on Mein-MMO.de.
The most important events in Destiny in 2016
Destiny went through a difficult year in 2016, marked by a drought of content and many rumors about its future. According to several anonymous sources, the decision-makers behind the scenes had to restructure and fully reboot the sequel “Destiny 2” as a result. In 2016, “temporary solutions” had to be found to keep the Guardians occupied throughout the year.
Oryx – The Taken King
The last major expansion “The Taken King” was released in September 2015. Many players had already completed all the challenges multiple times, reached the maximum Light level, and obtained the best items. The motivation and curiosity had long faded by early 2016.
In February, a small event started, the “Crimson Week,” which was intended only for PvP friends: In two-person fireteams, players could prove teamwork and friendship in the “Crimson Doubles” and earn new shaders, emblems, and two ghost shells. The event only lasted a week. The hoped-for change continued to be delayed.
During Crimson Week, the Tower was completely covered in red
The April Update brought significantly more content: The Light level was raised to 335, the Prison was reactivated with the challenge of the Elders as an endgame activity, a new and a revised strike came, along with some additional items. With Chromatin, Guardians were given the ability to make items glow. This idea of personalization was continued with the Ornaments in the fall.
However, in April, the peak of The Division had many Guardians roaming New York as agents instead. A Prison of Elders with a new look could not bring countless Guardians back into the Destiny universe. As problems in The Division continued to escalate, Destiny received more love from players again.
The challenge of the Elders – The Taken look also came for the Guardians
It was not until the fall expansion “Rise of Iron” that the great interest in Bungie’s MMO shooter returned. There were initial leaks about it already in May, and in the following months, more information was officially released.
“Rise of Iron” brought on September 20 a Light level increase to 400, a new raid called “Wrath of the Machine”, new and revised strikes, story missions (where we all became Iron Lords), new items, and fundamental innovations in PvP: The supremacy mode, new maps, and Private Matches. Private matches were a feature long requested by the community. We from Mein-MMO directly hosted the first tournament.
After the launch of RoI, the Halloween event “Festival of the Lost”, the raid challenges, and the “The Dawning” event were the next notable milestones offered to the Guardians. Currently, The Dawning is still ongoing, lasting until January 3rd.
Lord Saladin with his Wolves
Our most successful articles on Destiny
Our articles with the most views show: The great interest in Destiny in 2016 returned only with “Rise of Iron”. The articles before that performed far less strong.
Just behind at second place is our detailed guide to the Outbreak Prime. This exotic pulse rifle is tied to an extensive raid puzzle. When the way to the Outbreak Prime was known, the community was in an uproar.
Bungie will not be back from winter break until mid-January, during which they already announced that the January Iron Banner will continue. Other than that, nothing is known so far. According to statements from Activision, 2017 will be the year of the Destiny sequel, of a “Destiny 2.” This MMO shooter is supposed to provide a steady stream of fresh content – a content drought like in 2016 should not happen again. However, there are still no concrete details.
Ttime says:
I remember a statement from Bungie in the summer that they want to be more transparent about future content. Therefore, they had already indicated before the launch of RoI: In October there would be a Halloween event and in December a larger event around the SRL. And that is how it happened.
How things will continue in 2017 is anything but transparent. We Guardians are steering toward an uncertain year, in which somewhere a “Destiny 2” is supposed to wait for us. But what do we have to do until then? The fan theory is high on the agenda, that the old raids will be reactivated, to revive nostalgia in the Glass Chamber or with Crota as we slowly approach the sequel.
No matter what the future holds for Destiny – Schuhmann and I will stay on top of it for you on Mein-MMO.de.
After the flop of the MMO shooter Battleborn, the studio Gearbox lands on the death list of a tech blog.
Ars Technica publishes a “death list” every year of tech companies that they believe are on the brink of collapse, facing descent into technological, economic, or cultural irrelevance. The shooter flop “Battleborn” has earned Gearbox a spot on the list this year.
Publisher 2K Games needed a successful shooter badly after the 2015 flop “Evolve“, says Ars Technica. However, Battleborn sold even worse than Evolve, especially since it was overshadowed by a significantly better team shooter.

After the high-budget project Battleborn has failed, Gearbox needs a new strong game in 2017, but there doesn’t seem to be anything in the pipeline that really promises success. There is nothing heard from the incredibly profitable “Borderlands” series. Therefore, Ars Technica fears that publisher 2K Games might cut the umbilical cord to Gearbox, with fatal consequences.
Battleborn is considered a flop. “Undeserved”, many say, including our author Jürgen Stöffel:
We present to you our top games today that you can get in the current Steam Winter Sale 2016.
Until January 2nd, you have the chance to buy games at low prices in the “Steam Winter Sale”. During the event, there are great discounts in various game genres. This includes racing games, MMOs, survival simulations, strategy games, and games with “Virtual Reality” support.
Fallout 4 combines a deep story with a huge open world. The game comes from Bethesda Game Studios, which are responsible for Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. In Fallout 4, you play in a world that has been devastated by nuclear war. Accordingly, many places and situations with other “creatures” in this world are quite dark.
In Fallout 4, you can choose whether to play in first-person or third-person perspective. It also features an interesting targeting system that slows down time and allows you to execute attacks precisely.
With the large skill system, you can customize your character according to your wishes. Whether as a melee fighter, a soldier, or a charismatic type whose strength lies in communication – you have the choice of how to shape your adventure. You can join different factions for which you fight and complete quests. There are various endings that you can influence yourself.

Our author Schuhmann looks back on his MMO year 2016. Between Black Desert, The Division, and Hearthstone, he realizes: Help, I’m a casual.
2016 feels at least like three years, rather like four. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older or because of Cortyn. Quite surely, it’s because of Cortyn. Since I met her, I count in dog years. And since I snatched the review copy of Overwatch from her… but we’ll get to that later.
Game of the Year: The Division
At first, I didn’t warm to The Division, then a little bit, afterward I found it really dumb and now I think it’s great again.
At the release, I was quite curious how the game would perform, whether it would really be “Destiny for PC” or “Diablo 3 as a shooter”: an exciting loot shooter that would bind me forever.
When I actually played it, however, I had the impression of running a mediocre game strictly following the Ubisoft formula. RPG elements and loot factor I found only in tiny doses.
However, what I already found great while leveling up was the story and atmosphere of the game. The little story snippets, the collectibles – I liked listening to them and following the downfall of New York in anecdotes.
With level 30 and the endgame, however, The Division was done for me; I had absolutely no desire to collect items with that system. The story and thus The Division were over for me at that point. Just like two years earlier with The Elder Scrolls Online: Boss dead, max level achieved, game over.

During the year, I checked into The Division every now and then, but I could never find my footing. That only changed this December after all the changes.
I started again, suddenly found The Division motivating and exciting, leveled up to a gear score of 256 in a few evenings, and now I check in regularly to assemble the sets and find better weapons. Now the fights give me the adrenaline kick that I missed at the beginning of the year.
The Division is an example of why MMOs are so great. You can check back in after half a year and find a completely different, usually much better game.
My game that is actually good, but I can’t get into: Overwatch
With Overwatch I just couldn’t warm up. This may be because my colleague Cortyn insulted me as “dirty casual” about 400 times after I received a review copy (and she didn’t because she couldn’t wait and bought a game for herself). But probably it’s just because this type of game doesn’t really suit me.
I’m not a shooter player. While others played Counterstrike and Call of Duty, I was busy with Crusader Kings thinking about succession or dusting off Baldur’s Gate to play through it again. During my military service, I was a completely miserable shooter – that was enough for me.
Overwatch probably does everything right as a shooter, but I lack any progress system beyond merely collecting skins and emotes. I was already full early on. I didn’t make it past a single-digit level, which was brought up time and again by dear colleague Cortyn.
During the time when everyone was crazy about Overwatch, I played through Battleborn . It had its flaws but at least made me laugh with insane spider robots. With Overwatch, I only chuckle about the drama surrounding the game. I find this whole waifu and sex craze hilarious.
My game that would ruin my life if I weren’t too casual for it: Black Desert
The game I would have spent every free minute on ten years ago was definitely Black Desert.
The problem: I realized that if I wanted to play Black Desert ambitiously – and I do with these games, especially because there are leaderboards – then I need to engage with it, at least check in every two hours and do something. I need to keep Black Desert running all day on my computer, read guides and tips about it, and mentally deal with the game.
And that simply doesn’t work with the job I have. I noticed in the first few days that my boss got on my nerves when he wrote to me and wanted something from me so that I no longer felt like looking at “other” news about MMOs, and that the tasks I had suffered because I just found Black Desert so great.
The ambition to play Black Desert the “right” way could not be reconciled with my ambition to do the “job” properly. Because the job here – this is certainly an advantage and a disadvantage – is not as clearly separated from “personal life” as a traditional office job would be, but the transitions are fluid. Some may imagine this very well: “Play all day and get paid for it”, but in reality, it requires self-discipline and motivation.
This is not a problem with games like The Division at all. There I only have a desire for two hours in the evening, and otherwise, I don’t think about my agent, his equipment, and how to swap it all day. With Black Desert, it was different. To play such an endless game “on the side”, I somehow lack the gene. Surely after a while, after weeks or months, a routine would have developed and it would have gone “on the side”. But I didn’t want to take that risk.
http://youtu.be/mS75XlHmA2o
Then I checked back into Black Desert after months – like with The Division – but I was so out of the loop that everything about Black Desert, even just sorting the mail, totally overwhelmed me.
5 games I still have something to say about, and WoW, about which I have nothing to say
Besides that, due to my job, I have at least played a lot of MMOs and MMORPGs. A few remarks:
Armored Warfare performed well in 2016. Too bad that the game is going under against World of Tanks. It’s truly a surprise hit for me. Going tank hunting for an hour is really fun. Also, a fair free-to-play system.
Marvel Heroes is an interesting game that I have come back to several times. I’m curious if it will break through with the “simplifications” and a PS4 port. They are overdoing it with events and bonus stuff to such an extent that I feel it’s not worth playing if there’s no “super-duper event” active.
Blade and Soul left me cold. I found the Asian approach and different aesthetics interesting at first, but the appeal faded already in the mid-levels. However, I can understand that people are happy with it.
With Final Fantasy XIV , I often plan to play it intensively, and when I feel like it, I realize that the subscription has expired. I think you really need a guild and social bonds for that.
Guild Wars 2 with Heart of Thorns – I’m in the group that criticizes the “linear” gameplay with the expansion. I have always had the most fun with Guild Wars 2 when I could level freely and without direction. The whole thing with “Now comes the event and here is this jumping passage” always feels too gimmicky to me. GW2 seems to demand of me, I feel, to engage with the game in a different way than I actually want.
The game I have spent a lot of time on: Hearthstone
I used to wonder how my friends could play League of Legends for several hours every day for years without ever getting beyond the average. Today, I understand that because I play Hearthstone every day and don’t even have a spark of ambition to become “really better” than “just okay”.
Hearthstone is the ultimate “casual game” for me. Fun for five or six games a day. You complete your quests. Every two days you can open a pack, and every day there are matches that are really fun. When I feel: Now I’m losing every match in 3 rounds because Pirate Warriors are going crazy, then I just stop, and that’s it. It doesn’t stress me at all.
I also don’t buy card packs for real money, but I am disciplined and content with myself and the game.
However, Cortyn cannot understand how I can “get decks from others.” She builds all hers herself… this snob. I’m probably too much of a casual for that now.
But… I have the Overwatch review copy and I’m her boss… being a casual also has its advantages.
In the new year … I’m looking forward to these games:
Our YouTuber Refaser reveals to you which 10 classes have the coolest mechanics and playstyles. Is yours one of them?
Over the years and decades, MMORPGs have developed new gameplay mechanics and especially classes. Where in the beginning there were only the basic principles of warriors, mages, and rogues, which were simply copied 1:1 from pen & paper rulebooks, increasingly complex classes have been developed over the years. Strange creations like bards, mesmerizers, or ninjas are now present in more and more games.
Our YouTuber partner Refaser has created a Top 10 and presents to you his 10 favorite classes. Most major games like World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, or Blade & Soul are represented in the list. Just take a look at his video:

Cortyn says: I agree with a large part of his list. Especially the mesmerizer really impressed me at the time and led to many PvP nights in Guild Wars 2 (which my PC at the time couldn’t handle at all – but hey, it was fun). However, I would disagree with his number 1, the Paladin from World of Warcraft. I don’t like the tank spec at all, as I find it quite boring – but tastes vary.
Was your favorite class also included? Which classes would you agree with – and which would you rather disagree with? Let us know in the comments!
Otherwise, we are currently also looking back into the past and hunting for the best news that interests you:
Because Blizzard does not create the right cards for the Rogue in Hearthstone, a disappointed fan is taking over.
Although the last expansion “Gadgetzan Streets” shook up the Hearthstone meta quite nicely, not everyone is satisfied with the new cards. Although Rogues have a fairly solid repertoire of abilities, some Rogue players are upset because Blizzard did not give this class a new weapon. Actually, Blizzard wanted to focus on weapons to particularly distinguish the Rogue from the Shaman.
The player Max has now set himself a goal to get Blizzard to develop new cards: day by day, he is creating his own weapon card for the Rogue. So far, over 28 cards have appeared, and Max shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Among his suggestions are some good ones, but also a few overpowered cards. Most of his ideas, however, are one thing: quite creative.
For example, he has created the powerful Rogue spell Lethal Conspiracy, which is quite expensive at 10 mana but also brings with it a powerful effect: “Equip a 3/4 weapon and summon two 3/2 Assassins. Combo: Destroy all undamaged enemy minions.”
A fitting card for the current set would also be the Gadgetzan Arms Dealer, who could discover a weapon with his Battlecry – from any class in the game.
However, Max does not live under the illusion that Blizzard will soon comply with his demands. He simply hopes for the best.
“I believe I can keep this up for a very long time. I know the design process of Hearthstone and know that they are already testing the next two expansions. They have already created all the cards and set the course. But who knows what it will bring?”

The silver box offers you 8x Incense, 8 Lucky Eggs, and 8 Lures. This box costs 980 coins.
From the gold box, you will get 50 Ultra Balls, 25x Incense, 25 Lucky Eggs, and 16 Lures. This box costs 2480 coins.
Lures are now supposed to last 60 minutes instead of 30 minutes. Additionally, some players confirmed on Reddit that you can now attract the new starter Pokémon with Incense. This is probably why there is so much Incense in the silver and gold boxes.
Pokémon GO: Last update in December brings New Year’s loading screen
Since this evening, there is also a new loading screen at Pokémon GO. The Pokémon that just a few days ago were decorating and admiring the Christmas tree are now looking forward to the New Year and watching a fireworks display.
Destiny: Three of Coins at Xur: Sometimes he will have them, sometimes not
In a new statement from Friday evening our time, Bungie now says: “Xur will not sell any coins this weekend.” His behavior may fluctuate from week to week in the foreseeable future. This is due to a limitation in his inventory.
Xûr will not be selling Three of Coins from 12/30–1/1. His Curios may vary weekly for the foreseeable future. See: https://t.co/DSRrMBuE5n
It seems likely that something went wrong with the event “The Dawning” at Xur in Destiny. Perhaps it’s because Guardians can no longer buy ornaments from Xur, which has caused some code to get mixed up, resulting in the “Three of Coins” now missing from the inventory.
Important for players: It is no longer guaranteed that Xur will sell the Three of Coins. If he ever brings them back, it would probably be smart to stock up.
The “Three of Coins” have been used since September 2015 to increase the drop probability of exotic items in Destiny. Some see them as the reason why exotic items are no longer as special as they used to be and thus the appeal of collecting them has diminished.
More about the Three of Coins in Destiny, if they ever return, at least you will be prepared:

With the upcoming update 2.3, the developers of the space online game Elite: Dangerous will introduce a space station dedicated to the late actress Carrie Fisher.
On December 27, actress Carrie Fisher passed away at the age of just 60. A few days earlier, she suffered a heart attack during a flight from London to Los Angeles, was resuscitated, and was admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital. Although her condition reportedly stabilized, she still died on December 27. Carrie Fisher is known to many as Princess Leia from the Star Wars films.
A space station in honor of Carrie Fisher
Not only in the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic is the actress being honored, but Frontier Developments also wants to pay their respects. For this purpose, a new space station will be introduced in the online game Elite: Dangerous with the upcoming update 2.3. “Fisher’s Rest” is a tribute to Carrie Fisher. The idea came from the players of the space game, who approached the developers to ask for a way to honor Carrie Fisher.
The release date is still unknown
Executive Producer Michael Brookes stated that the team liked the idea and that they would introduce the mentioned space station in honor of the actress with “Fisher’s Rest.” However, the release date for update 2.3 is still unknown. It is planned for the year 2017. Then players will be able to gather at the station and pay their respects to Carrie Fisher.

In the MMO shooter Destiny, the Trials of Osiris start today, on December 30th. Which map will be played?
Want to ring in the New Year with a bang? Not just with fireworks and firecrackers, but also with big guns in Destiny? Then starting this evening, you have the chance to do so again, as the Trials of Osiris begin.
Many streamers regularly use this weekly PvP event to showcase their skills in the Crucible to the community. For a few weeks now, it has been possible to do this directly on the Bungie page. There, viewers can also find useful features to learn more about the streamer and their Guardian.
The start of the Trials of Osiris is today at 6 PM. The Trials end next year, on January 3rd, at 10 AM. It will be played on the map Exodus Blue.
What are the Trials of Osiris?
In the Trials, you engage in intense PvP battles in the “Elimination” mode. You compete in teams of three against each other and try to fill your scorecard with victories. If the opposing team is completely defeated, you win a round. Fallen team members can be revived. Here, it’s not only about having strong gear but also about communication among the Guardians. A good knowledge of the map is advantageous.
With 5 and 7 victories, random rewards from Osiris’s loot pool can be obtained. Additionally, you should keep an eye on Brother Vance’s bounties for extra rewards. If you’re in top form, you can reach Mercury with a “flawless” ticket and loot the chest with the fine loot there.
