The selective multiplayer RPG Shroud of the Avatar is currently nearing its release. The developers are now focusing on aspects like the user interface, set to launch later this year.
Graphically, Shroud of the Avatar has made significant progress in recent months. The areas now look beautiful, and the NPC design also shows improvements. With the release of Episode 1 likely coming in the second half of the year, the team is working on enhancing the UI visually. The first step comes with the upcoming Release 38, which will adjust the dialogue window for conversations with NPCs.
NPC conversations in a chat window?
Until now, it was a standard chat window, similar to what you see in guild chats of other MMOs. The texts were presented like in a chat log. Many players also had trouble entering texts and finding the right keywords to advance conversations.
The developer studio Portalarium responded to the criticism and has now presented a new dialogue window, which will be introduced into the game on January 26 with Release 38. However, some fans are not satisfied with it.
Not much has changed
Visually, the window still resembles the previous chat. It is now centered to focus on the conversation.
In addition to the option to manually type texts and keywords, there is now an area below this input field with keywords that can be clicked. This is intended to make conversations easier and faster, as players can always see the most important keywords without having to search long for them.
Fans express criticism
However, some in the community are bothered by the fact that the window still looks like before. The same frame, the same log-style presented text, and the same semi-transparent background. This is feedback currently being given to the developers.
The developers defend themselves, explaining that many of the requested changes are either difficult or impossible to implement. They are trying to incorporate some of the feedback, such as adding spaces between the texts of the NPCs and the players and changing the color of the names of the conversation participants. However, one should not expect truly significant changes.
The Overwatch heroes as cute cats. A YouTuber gives the heroes a new face.
The fan creations around Blizzard’s hero shooter Overwatch occasionally take very strange turns. After the internet overflowed with pornographic content related to the game, there are now a whole lot of other variations and portrayals of the characters.
The YouTuber Dillongoo has taken all the offensive heroes from Overwatch and transformed their highlight intros into a new light. The corresponding heroes have been transformed into cute – and sometimes quite chubby – cats. Check out “KatsuWatch” here:

Interestingly, Dillongoo has managed to maintain the original “flair” of the characters. Reapurr (Reaper) is still an edgelord who brings darkness and gloom to the world – and what could be more fitting than the bones of fish? Clawmbra still has her way of playing games and therefore chases a red laser pointer. Overall, the implementation seems quite successful, although some of the “boring” highlight intros do not match the quality of the more dynamic footage.
In the future, Dillongoo wants to transform the rest of the Cats cast of the Overwatch hero roster into cute cats. So we can expect a lot of purring, fish, yarn balls, and plenty of scratch marks.
In Destiny, we show you how to reach the very top of the Felwinter Peak.
Since “Rise of Iron”, the Felwinter Peak is a new social space in Bungie’s MMO shooter. In the first story mission of “The Rise of Iron”, you reclaim it from the Fallen. Important NPCs like Lord Saladin or Tyra Karn move in afterward, providing quests for you.
This brave Guardian is already high up – but there is still much higher to go!
Many Guardians assume that this place is the highest point that can be reached in the Plaguelands. But it isn’t! With a trick, you can even reach the summit of Felwinter Peak. You really can’t go any higher than that.
Not for Guardians with a fear of heights
The Youtuber Juma Plays shows you in the video how to get to the very top. This is only possible through the first story mission of RoI, where you encounter Sepiks Perfected. This way you have all your jumping abilities at your disposal. Additionally, you need a sword.
Starting at 0:52, Juma Plays shows you the way from the location of the inactive SIVA bundle:

What is at the top? The answer to this question is rather disappointing: there is nothing up there, except for a great view. You will search in vain for a secret, a collectible, or even an exotic weapon.
All the secrets introduced since “The Rise of Iron” in the game are presented along with tips and tricks, reviews, and informational articles in our guide collection on “Rise of Iron”.

In The Division, update 1.6 introduces a new gear set: SEEKR.
So far, every update from Ubisoft’s MMO shooter brought new gear sets: With 1.1, four sets were introduced for the first time, four new ones were added with 1.2, and 1.3 and Underground even saw the addition of five more sets. Then Massive realized that it does not benefit the enjoyment of the game if agents are overwhelmed with sets. Because the sets were not balanced: Only a few were useful in the endgame, others had no benefit at all.
Therefore, with update 1.4, all gear sets were revised. One set, the B.L.I.N.D. set, was even completely removed and replaced by Banshee. The update 1.5 subsequently brought only one new set, the D3-FNC set. And with update 1.6, this “slowed down” supply of new sets will continue.
This set, which will be available for all agents for free with 1.6, is called SEEKR. The specialty of this set is body shots. Not all bonuses are known yet, but we do know the talent that activates with four equipped pieces:
4-set bonus: You will receive a guaranteed critical hit when you land two body shots in a row. This guaranteed critical hit can be dealt to any enemy. It does not have to be the one who received the body shots.
Update: Meanwhile, the other bonuses are also known:
2-set bonus: +10% damage from body shots
3-set bonus: +30% critical hit damage
Massive assumes that you will use this set creatively and test which weapon class it is particularly suitable for.
Gear set changes with 1.6
As part of the general balance changes of 1.6, some gear sets will also be revised. However, these can still change until the launch of 1.6, as they will soon be tested on the PTS. So far, we know of changes to four sets:
AlphaBridge: This currently outstanding set will be nerfed. Not all weapon talents will be transferred anymore, but only those talents that are activated without attribute requirements (i.e., the respective third talent). Exotic talents are excluded.
Frontline (D3-FNC): The critical hit chance will no longer be removed. Instead, every activated mod on your ballistic shield becomes ineffective.
Recycler: The talent now activates all mods from the assist post at the same time. The 2-set and 3-set bonuses are also supposed to be aimed at the assist post (range and duration will be increased). It no longer has effects on consumables with 1.6.
Tactician’s Authority: The buff from the talent does not expire after 10 seconds, but disappears as soon as you use a skill.
Do you think the AlphaBridge nerf is too severe? And what do you think of the SEEKR set?
The Taipei Game Show is currently taking place from January 19 to 24 in Taiwan. Chinese publishers are showcasing their games there. Snail Games has announced 15 new games for 2017. Nine of these are mobile games, six are client-based games, including Dark and Light or Age of Wushu 2.
It is particularly noteworthy that Snail Games has three games licensed from the western dinosaur hit Ark: Survival Evolved in their lineup. This includes “ARK: Survival Evolved” itself as a free-to-play MMO for the Asian market and PixelArk , a sandbox game with a Minecraft aesthetic, intended primarily for younger gamers.
Besides Minecraft with dinosaurs, Snail Games is also developing a Pokémon Go spin-off
However, Snail Games has another Ark game in the works. A mobile game that is set to utilize augmented reality – the technology that made Pokémon Go popular. The game does not yet have an official English title. Speculations point towards “My Dinosaur Go” or “ARK Go.”
According to initial, still very early information, which is only available in Chinese, the game is expected to feature a cartoon style. Players will be able to catch and train dinosaurs. The catching is likely to take place outside of their homes.
There appear to be survival elements in the game. Players are expected to gather resources and form tribes. However, the language barrier may hinder our understanding of the details.
In China, the popular Pokémon Go is not allowed because the government fears it might be too dangerous.
February is the month in FIFA when the winter upgrades are released. Some players who have consistently performed well in real football over the past months will receive upgraded standard cards that remain permanent.
Now the question arises: Which players will receive an upgrade? This is often speculated and discussed in advance. There are already some “predictions” online, i.e., forecasts of players who deserve an upgrade.
Will Kimmich receive an upgrade?
Possible Bundesliga Players for the Winter Upgrades – List
The site fifauteam has created a list of Bundesliga players who are in line for an upgrade. The basis is the list of players who have already been upgraded in “Head to Head” seasons:
The studio Wildcard, the creators behind the dino-MMO Ark Survival Evolved, has now granted Snail Games a license for Pixark. This is a sandbox survival game that is inspired by Minecraft and Ark Survival Evolved. It is set to be released worldwide in the first half of 2017.
Players can explore the world in this free-to-play game, gather resources, build houses and items, and also tame dinosaurs. It is described as a pixel version of Ark.
According to Snail Games, PixelArk will reflect the world and core elements of Ark: Survival Evolved. The target audience includes all survival fans and also younger players who enjoy pixel aesthetics.
Another project from Snail Games is a sort of “Pokémon Go” with dinosaurs; this mobile game is also expected to run with the Ark license.
The Chinese publisher Snail Games is also working on a free-to-play version of Ark for the Chinese market:
Mercy can only heal? Our “Play of the Game” moments from Overwatch prove you wrong.
Every week, absurd, exciting or simply funny moments happen in Overwatch , often captured in a “Play of the Game”. We have searched social media and picked three special highlights for you. Enjoy our 3 “Play of the Game” moments of the week in Overwatch!
If Mercy is the last survivor in a 3vs3 match and still has 3 opponents, then the match is usually over. However, the player Firebelle impressively shows that pride often comes before a fall. As the opposing Roadhog and Sombra go on the offensive, Mercy quickly deals with both of them. However, she doesn’t take on the subsequent duel against Ana – she simply revives her team to leave the “dirty work” to them.

“360-NO SCOPE!” is often said when you perform a quick turn – usually out of surprise or reflex – and land a headshot on an opponent from behind, sending them straight to the virtual afterlife. Which character would be better suited to parody this in Overwatch than Hanzo? Calmly, BWEEE spins in circles on Hanamura and then fires his dragon, which thanks to Zarya’s help finds 5 targets. This is rounded off by a spray logo featuring perhaps the coolest eyes in the world and an emote.

The last highlight comes again from the “Unusual” category and from the player BFM_305. As Hanzo tries to locate the opposing Sombra on the map Numbani by firing his sonar arrow, the first shot misses, but the second one sends Sombra straight to the virtual grave. But that’s not all – Sombra runs a few more meters only to directly run into the next wall. You should see it for yourself:

In the fantasy MMORPG Black Desert , work on a port for PS4 and Xbox One seems to be progressing.
It would be quite something if such a complex and visually stunning MMORPG like Black Desert were to come to the PS4 and Xbox One. And it certainly looks like it could happen.
Black Desert is planning an open beta for Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. They intend to release the game there. At the Taipei Game Show, two of the leading figures from Pearl Abyss commented on the game, and there were some details that we didn’t know about before.
In an exclusive interview at the Taipei Game Show, the producer and game director reportedly said that work on Black Desert for PS4 and Xbox One is progressing. However, they have not yet decided whether the console version will offer crossplay with the PC. Both versions are expected to deliver gameplay content “similar to the PC version.”
There is currently no more information available on the port for PS4 and Xbox One. Until now, Pearl Abyss has kept the option open to port Black Desert to consoles. However, we didn’t know that they were actually already working on it.

More information about the development of Black Desert:
Additionally, a second round of “Awakenings” on PC is planned. This could happen in Korea later this year. During the first round, all classes in Black Desert received new weapons. In the second awakening, they likely want to strengthen the starting weapons so they don’t fall too far behind. But this has not been officially confirmed yet.
They are also looking into additional tiers for life skills such as fishing.
The World of Black Desert is Set to Expand Upwards and Downwards
Besides new map sections, Pearl Abyss is looking to expand the existing map both upwards and downwards, introducing underground dungeons and new mountain regions.
A mobile version of Black Desert is also in development. The gameplay will differ from the familiar Black Desert.
Pearl Abyss has two offers for further games, but the main focus remains on Black Desert.
Furthermore, the Pearl Abyss executives discussed how the Taiwanese version differs from others. An open beta starts there on January 25. However, this is probably not as fascinating for western readers as the other information.
Disclaimer: The interview is in Chinese – so it’s not easy to verify it precisely. The summary of the interview comes from English MMO sites specializing in Asia, which one can usually trust for such things, and the powerful Google Translator, which one should never trust. Therefore, it might be wise for PS4 or Xbox One players to wait a bit before booking their vacation for Black Desert.
For those who still want to learn about Black Desert:
Men are driven by the urge to destroy, and women tend to disappear into fantasy worlds – a study reveals what men and women play and why. Surprisingly, although WoW is a fantasy MMORPG, statistically fewer women play it than other games in the genre.
It is one of the universal truths on the web. One of them: There are no women on the internet. Or are there?
A few days ago, Nick Yee, co-founder of Quantic Foundry, published a new report. Quantic Foundry analyzes video games. The report details which games are preferred by women and how the gender distribution looks across different genres.
For the study, a total of 270,000 players were surveyed about their gaming habits to obtain a representative picture. Unsurprisingly, women mostly play mobile games such as Family/Farm simulations and “Match 3” games – the classic browser or Facebook games.
Here, 69% of the players are female. Puzzle games reach 42% and “Atmospheric Exploration Games” have a female proportion of 41%. For interactive dramas like “Beyond: Two Souls” or visual novels, the share is 37%.
The statistics may also have been influenced by the fact that the 270,000 players mostly completed the survey via Facebook.
World of Warcraft pulls the average down, SWTOR brings it up
But what about MMORPGs? The genders seem to diverge on the setting and background of the games. Women apparently prefer fantasy over science fiction.
World of Warcraft is an exception. Although it belongs to the genre of High Fantasy MMORPGs, only about 23% of the players are female – in other similar MMOs, the percentage is 36%. Azeroth has a shortage of women.
The percentage of women in WoW is significantly lower than in games with similar settings.
Also surprising is Star Wars: The Old Republic. 29% of the player base here is female, while the percentage in the SciFi MMO genre is a mere 16%. If one were to completely exclude SWTOR from the calculation, the percentage would only be 11.3%. Science fiction is a male-dominated field.
MOBAs need a female quota – in sports games, women are even considered exotic
In MOBAs like League of Legends, SMITE, or Heroes of the Storm, the female ratio is even lower – only one in ten players is female.
Lastly, a (not entirely unexpected) shock for all FIFA fans. In sports games, only 2% of players are women. This corresponds to the stereotype that “women don’t know anything about soccer” – but it could simply mean that they are simply not interested.
SWTOR boasts a high number of female players – which is surely due to the strong story sequences.
Women build and dream, men prefer to destroy
Yee explains in his study the differing motivations between the genders, meaning what players expect from the gaming experience.
While women tend to value completion (achievements, gear) and fantasy (immersive game worlds) (“Completion and Fantasy”), men focus more on competition (PvP, performance comparisons) and destruction (weapons, chaos) (“Competition and Destruction”).
You can find the complete report in our sources.
Cortyn says: Exciting results that reflect at least the broad masses. Especially with World of Warcraft, however, I was surprised by the numbers. I somehow still remember that a few years ago it was said that the genders were “roughly equal” represented. This has either changed massively in recent years, or the information was incorrect.
In general, the study aligns – broadly speaking – with my own experiences. The more fantasy and atmosphere there is, the more women you meet. The more blood, explosions, and competition, the more men feel attracted to the game.

Trion’s online role-playing game Rift receives a hotfix with a new game mode called “Fortress Sieges”. These are dynamic events where solo players, small groups, and entire raids can participate. To ensure you have enough players ready, a convenient LFR tool has been implemented.
Rift recently received the Starfall Prophecy expansion. However, there was significant criticism regarding Starfall Prophecy: Many players were frustrated that it was not finished at launch. Fans criticized that the add-on was released too early. Half of the promised features were disabled at launch. Instead of bringing them quickly, Trion Worlds first had to fix all the new bugs.
The mood around Rift has since been quite poor in the public forums.
Now, Trion Worlds has delivered parts of the expansion with a two-month delay “via hotfix”.
The Fortress Sieges have been added as a new game mode. These are large-scale attacks on castles held by hostile NPCs, starting with the fortress “Xarth’s Skull”.
https://youtu.be/nVx22tlgTlQ
Anyone can join the battle!
“What’s so great about the sieges?” For one, the siege battles are not just ordinary 08/15 assaults. Rather, they are dynamic events that occur approximately every four hours. The special thing about the sieges: You can participate as a solo player, group, or even a raid team. Soloists sneak around the walls during the battle and assassinate isolated enemies who annoy other players from a distance.
Regular groups, meanwhile, penetrate deeper into the stronghold and combat resilient enemy groups along with their sub-bosses. Full raid teams storm the inner walls and face the final boss in an epic battle. This way, the siege is meant to be a grand festival of battle for all participants.
Raiding with Karma
To ensure there are always enough players available, Rift now also offers a full-fledged LFR tool (Looking for Raid). With this, you can quickly and easily find fellow players. Even better: The tool is so “intelligent” that it already knows in advance whether your group is capable. For example, if you do not have enough tanks or healers for certain bosses, the tool will complain beforehand and prevent you from entering the instance.
Also new: Every time you use the LFR tool and complete a raid, you earn “Raid Karma”. Those who diligently fulfill their role and successfully complete instances receive positive points, while those who play infrequently, leave early, or get kicked lose points. High karma guarantees you preferred spots in the queues in the LFR tool.
In the MMO shooter Destiny we ask you: How would you improve the balance in the Crucible?
Bungie plans to conduct a weapon balancing with the next content update. The current shotgun meta has dominated PvP for far too long – Guardians have been complaining for months that a balance patch is needed.
Official information on the upcoming changes is scarce: We know that Bungie wants to better integrate shotguns into the balance. If every Guardian runs around with a Matador 64 and uses it not only as a shotgun but also as a sniper, that’s not the point.
Now we ask you: Besides the shotgun dominance – where do you see the biggest issues? What adjustments must Bungie make for you to say: “They did well this time!”?
How would you act as Destiny sandbox experts?
A Proposal for PvP Balance
Via Facebook we received a suggestion from our reader uTex on how he and his buddy would change the balance. They have spent thousands of hours in PvP. We present their suggestions in adjusted form.
Changes to Weapons
Hand Cannons: Remove the ghost bullets problem and focus only on damage drop-off. Additionally, the maximum range could be increased.
Pulse Rifles: Decrease the range. Currently, for example, a Clever Dragon is able to win a duel against the MIDA even at long distances thanks to flinch.
Auto Rifles: Only minor changes, such as slight range buffs. For the rapid-firing archetype, increase the impact.
Shotguns: Remove the full-auto perk on Matador and Partycrasher.
Sniper Rifles: Lower the flinch.
Fusion Rifles: Increase stability on some archetypes to reduce spread.
No changes are indicated for handcannons and scout rifles. Generally, they would still nerf the high-caliber rounds a bit.
Artifacts:Skorri’s Remembrance – The super should recharge slower, at least in round-based modes.
Warlock: Set the melee damage of the Stormcaller to around 90, slightly reduce the impulse wave bonuses. Also weaken the super so that 4 ticks are required for an opponent. For the Voidwalker, the damage dealt should come with a delay.
Titan: Adjust the range of the lightning grenade and fix the melee of the Sunbreaker.
Hunter: Slightly weaken the jump grenade or nerf the tracking. The void spike grenade should also be downgraded. Adjustments for the blade dancer super.
What do you think of these suggestions? Give uTex your feedback in the comments and let us know how you would approach the weapon balance.
In The Division, update 1.6 brings a new difficulty level: Legendary. This is intended only for the best of you.
Last Stand and update 1.6 not only provide fresh content for PvP fans. Various PvE activities are also on the way, including a new raid. Additionally, some story missions are being enhanced: The “Legendary” difficulty is being introduced.
These are the Legendary missions in The Division
According to Massive, update 1.6 aims to provide a “real challenge” for all the hardcore agents out there. This goal is to be achieved with story missions at the “Legendary” difficulty level. These are intended to become the biggest PvE challenges in the game – even more so than the raids on Heroic.
Legendary is designed for you to test your optimized builds – as well as your tactics and teamwork. These three missions will receive “Legendary” at the launch of 1.6:
Times Square Power Relay
WarrenGate Power Plant
Napalm Production Site
In the future, more story missions are set to receive the highest difficulty level.
By the way: The damage and hit points of enemies scale depending on the number of team members in your squad. It is therefore theoretically possible to complete Legendary solo. However, Massive strongly recommends venturing only in an organized group.
Hunters 2.0? What the enemies can do on Legendary
In the legendary missions, you will not encounter the familiar enemies: All previous opponents have been removed and replaced with “new, powerful, and much smarter LMB enemies” who employ advanced tactics against you and your team.
The behavior of these enemies is supposed to be influenced by how you act. They respond to your skills, your status effects, are hard to hit, and will always try to flank you. Additionally, engaging them in close combat is not advisable. The Hunters in Survival are a taste of what’s to come.
In the missions, you will encounter various enemy types. There are “normal” enemies, veterans, and elite foes. You can also expect new named bosses who come with their own behavior patterns and skills.
According to Massive, the challenge does not lie in defeating enemies with enormous hit points, but in mastering their tactics and strategies.
The developers of the space MMO EVE Online have come up with something very special. They present the game’s history in an extraordinary video.
The MMO EVE Online launched in 2004 and now, around twelve years later, it has evolved and changed significantly. This prompted the developer studio CCP Games to take a look back at the game’s history and create a video from it. But not just one that merely lists the key milestones. That would be boring. CCP Games presents an extraordinary video.
A visually interesting representation
Using the program Gource, CCP employee SnowedIn visualized all logs and directories, showcasing the complete development of the MMO from the beginning to the end of 2016. The video features new branches appearing whenever something new has been added, artistically representing the game’s development. It resembles DNA or a snowflake, continuously evolving and changing – just like the game itself. The video shows not only the dates but also when each update and expansion was developed and how this affects the overall representation.
The video is an interesting and unique insight into the development of one of the most enduring MMORPGs. Additionally, it has a slightly hypnotizing and soothing effect, partly due to the music accompanying the video. Just take a look at it directly here.

As a final farewell, the friends of a deceased player host a very special fireworks display in Overwatch .
At just 36 years old, Willem Den Toom, an avid Overwatch player and employee of the website “Too Much Gaming“, passed away on January 15, 2017. His friends decided to create a video as a final tribute to keep the memory of their much too young departed colleague alive and to pay their last respects.
For this purpose, they gathered with 12 characters each on the Eichenwalde map to aim their weapons at the sun from the bridge and open fire. Together with the music, it not only looks beautiful but is also thought-provoking. Due to the “simple and touching beauty” of the video, it has now received over 200,000 views with many comments expressing their condolences as well.

“This is meant as a tribute to a fallen gamer and friend. We decided to hold a weapon salute in Will’s favorite game with his favorite characters (… and Hanzo).
Wherever you are: May the payload always move, the control point be hotly contested, no one leaves the match early, and may there always be a healer on your team. We miss you, big guy. This “Play of the Game” is for you.”
Cortyn says: Even though some comments under the video say that one shouldn’t laugh during a final tribute, I find the video successful. Because how else should you remember a good friend if not with a positive vibe? A beautiful video for a sad case.
In solo mode of Ghost Recon Wildlands, you will be supported by bots. You can learn what single-player gameplay looks like in the video.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is an open-world shooter that accommodates up to four players in co-op mode. You are in Bolivia and must fight against the “Santa Blanca” drug cartel, which has too much negative influence on the country and its people. While the cooperative mode is an important feature of this game, single players do not face disadvantages.
The video shows us 20 minutes of gameplay as a single player, where your teammates are bots. You can give the bots precise commands to adapt to your plan.

The lead game designer of Wildlands, Dominic Butler, explains various functions and features of the game in the video. In single-player mode, the bots adapt to your play style. You can also issue four direct commands to control the bots even more precisely. These commands are:
Fire – Open fire
Hold – Hold current position
Go to – Send the bots to a specific position
Regroup – Bots regroup with you
Features of Ghost Recon Wildlands also include dynamic weather and a day-night cycle. This results in seamless transitions between day and night during a mission.
To plan the next steps of a mission, it is important to know the enemy positions. In good weather and clear visibility, you can spot them with the binoculars. Using the latest technology, you can also control drones to reveal enemies. To prevent missions from becoming one-sided and to avoid overuse of drones, some enemy camps have jamming devices that make a drone worthless.
As the gameplay video shows, it is also quite possible to fight against the drug cartel alone. Therefore, those without teammates do not have to forgo the game, but can control the bots throughout the campaign.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will be released on March 7, 2017, for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
If you want to play a survival MMO, you can now support the financing of New Dawn through the Kickstarter campaign.
New Dawn places you in the 18th century. You are a native of a Caribbean island trying to survive. The harsh circumstances like wild animals and the constant search for food and shelter fade into the background as pirates arrive on the island. Now you must also defend yourself against these invaders.
Robinson Crusoe with Pirates
Like in other survival games, you start with nothing but a loincloth. You gather initial resources to craft weapons so you can at least defend yourself against the smaller animals.
You also craft your first tools to gather more resources. This way, you build a hut, gather food, and defend yourself against anything that attacks. You will also encounter other players with whom you can join forces to build entire villages. Or you can fight each other.
The idea behind the game envisions a culture clash: on one side are the spiritual natives, on the other the violent pirates. The latter have been inspired by “Black Sails” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.” The stories of the natives have been studied in books.
Kickstarter is supposed to do it
The development team wants to raise at least 70,000 euros to secure the financing of New Dawn. The Kickstarter campaign runs until mid-February. Early birds get the game plus early access for as low as 12 euros.
Those who contribute more money can receive the soundtrack, an art book, and exclusive in-game items. Stretch goals have also been announced in case the funding goal is exceeded. Then boss enemies, dynamic weather events, more animals, and support for Xbox One and Playstation 4 are planned.
But first, the 70,000 euros must be reached. If you are interested in survival MMOs and New Dawn, you can participate in the Kickstarter campaign.
Perfect Worlds colorful MOBA Gigantic receives its first major update. In “Exile in the North,” we get the new hero Pakko, more skins for the old crew, and numerous adjustments and bug fixes.
Gigantic is a colorful MOBA where our team protects a giant beast and is encouraged to take down the giant creature of the other faction. As heroes, we have all kinds of quirky beings to choose from, including a kind of goat with a bow, a Minotaur cow, and a frog! This league of extraordinary creatures is now expanded in the current update “Exile in the North” by the equally bizarre cuddly beard Pakko.

Pakko is not the only new feature in the game. The existing heroes Wu and Tripp receive special winter skins, and there are also several new majestic hero mastery skins.
Sticking it out is worth it starting from the update: If you bravely finish a match despite being outnumbered, you will be rewarded with more honor points, even if you lose. The fewer players you have, the better your bonus. Additionally, the gain from a “Crown Boost” will be 3.5 times better in the future, and a training arena allows you to try out all heroes.
As befits a good update, Exile in the North also fixes a lot of bugs, errors, and balance issues. The most notable of these are:
The duration of stun effects is reduced, so Tripp is no longer overpowered
Focus skills can now be triggered more comfortably and quickly
Shadow Cerberus and Obelisks are getting buffed
Jump attacks must now really be initiated with a jump. It is no longer enough to just fall somewhere. Additionally, you must expend stamina for a jump attack to count.

In The Division, we take a closer look at the Exotics. Update 1.6 transforms Named into Exotic.
The named weapons in Ubisoft’s MMO shooter have been controversial since launch: they were merely high-end weapons with names restricted to fixed talents. They did not represent anything special. On the contrary: the standard high-end guns were better, as they could come with powerful perk combinations.
In the latest updates, Massive tinkered a bit with the “Named Weapons”, but the changes were not satisfactory. Update 1.6 now provides a overhaul: the named items (weapons and armor parts) will become exotic items.
This is what makes the Exotics in The Division special
If you now think: “I already know Exotics from another MMO shooter?”, you are absolutely right. Exotics also refer to items of the highest quality level in Destiny. And the Exotics in The Division will be similar to those in Destiny.
The named items no longer belong to the high-end quality and will receive their own quality level. Starting with update 1.6, they will be called Exotics. The exotic items will have a new quality color, allowing you to recognize them directly when an enemy drops an Exotic or when you search for them in your inventory. Each Exotic will also receive a flavor text that contains a brief description/lore.
The exotic items come with unique talents. Some of the named objects already have special talents, like all named armor pieces. Weapons that do not have a unique talent will receive one with 1.6. The other two talents of the weapon will be randomly rolled.
Important: The unique talents cannot be transferred with AlphaBridge.
This is part of Massive’s goal to give the named weapons more personality and bring more variety to the game. Additionally, it should be fun to play with these unique weapons.
Talents and exotic weapon sets
Not all exotic weapon talents are known yet, but we already know three examples:
Hungry Hog comes with the talent “Glutton”: When you kill an enemy, damage increases by 20%. This buff lasts as long as you keep the trigger pressed. When you stop shooting, the damage bonus ends.
Tenebrae comes with the talent “Lights Out”: When you destroy an enemy’s weak point, your skill cooldowns and those of nearby allies are reset.
Exotic weapon sets: For “exotic weapon sets”, you must equip two exotic weapons for the talent to activate. The Valkyria is mentioned as an example. It is split into “Hildr” and “Eir”, whose talents become active and provide synergy effects when both are equipped.
Some Exotics also come with new stats. The update 1.6 will adjust the weapon balance. More detailed information will follow in the near future.
All changes are retroactive: this means that even the named weapons in your current inventory will be transformed into Exotics.
Furthermore, update 1.6 introduces “Exotic Caches”, which are exotic containers. They guarantee an exotic item. Exotic containers are weekly rewards from missions on the new difficulty level “Legendary”.

The enjoyment is a bit questionable, as “The Glast Gambit” revolves around so-called body horror. So shock effects that come from physical transformation, disease, mutation, and decay.
The new Warframe Nidus disgusts with abilities like Virulence, Larvae, or Parasitic Connection.
In the quest “Glast Gambit”, you have to stop Nef Anyo, who has kidnapped the children of a colony.
