In Conan Exiles, you can climb on rock walls in the upcoming update and enjoy a bit of parkour in the wasteland. Furthermore, Conan chief Joel Bylos answered questions from the community.
A Swabian proverb says, “When monkeys climb, the weather becomes nice!” However, in the wasteland of Conan Exiles, soon there won’t be monkeys climbing but wild barbarians who will be able to climb with the upcoming newest build of the game. So far, this has not affected the weather.
Conan Exiles – Climbing Barbarians – Always watch your stamina!
Until now, smooth rock walls in Conan Exiles have been a reliable protection against grumpy barbarian players. You could mock the opponent from above while they were just standing stupidly below. But in the upcoming newest build of Conan Exiles, walls are no longer an obstacle for brave barbarians.
When you jump towards a wall, your character will cling to it and can climb freestyle upwards. But beware! If you run out of stamina, you will fall into the depths and, in the worst case, to your death! So think twice before climbing a sufficiently high rock wall. You can already admire the new feature in a developer video. The climbing begins around the 35th minute.

The story of Anthem seems to be in good hands, as the lead writer of the first “Mass Effect” games is working on the cooperative shooter.
The unveiling of Anthem, the new game from BioWare, which was previously known only as “Project Dylan,” has caused a lot of excitement at this year’s E3. In a scripted gameplay trailer, viewers got to see quite a bit of the world. Humanity has retreated behind walls, and only a few chosen ones with their exo-suits dare to venture into the wilderness.
However, alongside stunning graphics and cool effects, Anthem left many questions unanswered. What about the story of the game? Are all missions just randomly thrown together?
Story chief of the first “Mass Effect” games is taking care of Anthem
While there is still no clear answer to the question of the game’s scope, the story seems to be in the best hands. On Twitter, Drew Karpyshyn has now stated that he is working on Anthem.

If the name doesn’t ring a bell: Karpyshyn was the lead writer for Mass Effect 1 and 2, as well as being heavily involved in the development of Star Wars: The Old Republic, Knights of the Old Republic, and Jade Empire. Additionally, he has published several books that have been well-received by fans.
However, more than a confirmation that Karpyshyn is working on Anthem has not yet been heard from him. Most details about the game will likely still be classified, and BioWare is not exactly known for spoiling the story of a game in full beforehand.
In any case, concerned fans will likely feel somewhat reassured that Anthem offers more than just visuals and lacks a story. When looking at Karpyshyn’s past, a thrilling story for Anthem seems very likely.
In Destiny 2 there will be Flashpoints – a new “Weekly Activity.”
In a podcast with Kotaku, the Game Director Luke Smith spoke about the worlds in Destiny 2. He discussed what Guardians can expect in these worlds and what activities will come to keep players engaged in the European Dead Zone, on Nessus, Io, and Titan.
These activities that you can stumble upon in the worlds are already known:
Adventures: These are short missions in which players can get to know the “Destiny 2” universe and the characters living in it better.
Lost Sectors: These are enemy dungeons that contain unique bosses guarding treasures.
Public Events: Similar to previous events: these are optional and can be completed “on the side” solo or with other players. They are intended to be unique and dynamic combat activities.
Luke Smith has now revealed another activity that should enhance the worlds and which has not been discussed until now: Flashpoints.
What are Flashpoints in Destiny 2?
Flashpoints will be a new weekly activity. According to Smith, they are “featured locations” – specific places in the various worlds where there will be plenty to do. Smith mentions treasure maps and special monsters that will appear there.
The rewards for Flashpoints are said to be similar to those from Nightfalls. That is, an unknown, random reward that helps in progressing through the endgame.
What you concretely need to do at Flashpoints to collect the rewards is still unknown. You may need to complete a checklist of activities each week to receive the sweet loot. Smith emphasizes that solo players can also participate in Flashpoints – matchmaking is not necessary.
No more information about the Flashpoints is currently available. It remains to be seen how many Flashpoints there will be and for how long they can keep Guardians occupied. However, they sound promising: They likely provide regular additional reasons to immerse oneself in the worlds of Destiny 2.
By the way: Smith also talked about other events in the worlds called “Silent.” There, enemy factions fight against each other. However, there are no further details on this.
No mercy for cheaters. Those offering boosting services in games must go to jail – at least that’s what a new law in South Korea aims for.
South Korea is currently taking things quite seriously when it comes to protecting video games and the associated eSports. After recently passing a law that makes hacks and private servers illegal, the next step follows.
If the Game Industry Promotion Act comes into effect, boosting will also be illegal in South Korea. This includes all services that play someone’s account for a fee to give them an advantage.
An example would be a leveling service for World of Warcraft, which promises to level a new character to the maximum level for a certain fee.
But there are also such boosting services in games like Overwatch that provide buyers with a higher skill rating, resulting in better rewards at the end of the season.
If caught, one can face a penalty of up to two years in prison or pay up to $20,000. To recoup the fine through leveling services, many customers would have to resort to such a service.
One of the lawmakers, Lee Dong Sub, stated: “To give an example of why boosting is so bad: It’s like taking a test, but you are not answering the questions, rather someone you paid for it does. There are three diseases plaguing the gaming industry and eSports: illegal hacks, illegal private servers, and professional boosters.”
What do you think about South Korea’s approach? Would you like to see such laws in Germany as well? Or do you even use boosting services yourself because you find leveling too time-consuming?
Today, on June 15th, the servers of The Division are down. Massive is fixing more bugs in the game.
If you wanted to spend the entire holiday in The Division, you need another activity in the morning. Because the servers are down. Massive is carrying out regular maintenance:
At 9:30 AM the servers will be shut down. The expected downtime is three hours, so you can start again around 12:30 PM.
What is changing today? Changelog on June 15th.
Two problems will be fixed today.
The first problem is related to the Revival Link. The automatic revival worked here even when another individual skill was on cooldown. That will be fixed.
The landmark “Midtown Music” in the Dark Zone caused frustration in the past, as some players could glitch outside the playable area. This will be temporarily prevented today with a fix. Massive is adding an “Out of Bounds” area that prevents players from being there. A permanent fix will come with the next client patch.
However, the MMO shooter was not mentioned at all, which is why the eyes are now on the weekly “State of the Game” to receive news about the future. Hamish Bode, a community developer, already announced that they would talk about a new feature of 1.7 today – the Commendations.
With State of Decay 2, not everything is different, but it is bigger and more realistic.
Anyone who has played the zombie survival game State of Decay will find himself immediately at home in the second part. Because in principle, the sequel plays very similarly. Again, you build a stronghold and venture out into the zombie-infested environment to search for food, weapons, and resources to survive. But this time the world is three times larger than in the predecessor, which also brings a new tactical component.
More Tactics Thanks to a Larger Game World
A significantly larger world means you need to plan your missions better. How far can you get before darkness falls and you need to get back to the stronghold? What equipment do you need to take with you? How do you get gathered resources back to the base? You utilize cars, in which you can store items in the trunk. Expanding your stronghold plays a big role again, and this time you have even more options.
Snores Distract from Sleeping
In the vast game world, you will also encounter new types of zombies that you must defeat using your skills. Each of the characters you can choose from has special skills that you need to improve throughout the game. New skills can also be learned. This should further highlight the role-playing aspect.
However, each character has advantages and disadvantages. For example, Matt is a very good fighter but snores at night, which can lead to sleep deprivation for the others, making them less fit the next day.
State of Decay 2 can be played solo or in co-op and is set to be released in early 2018 for PC and Xbox One.

The Elder Scrolls Online will receive two new DLC packs this year. More details were revealed at E3 2017. The PvP mode may get a ball game mechanic and the Clockwork City DLC will be similar to Orsinium.
The details of what is included have now been revealed at E3.
The Elder Scrolls Online – DLCs – Dungeons, Battlegrounds and “HuttenChaos Ball”
The first DLC pack is “Horns of the Reach” and is expected to be released in August 2017. It features two new dungeons named “Bloodroot Forge” and “Falkreath Hold” as highlights.
PvP enthusiasts will get a new battleground called “Arcane University”. The special feature is: There is a new battleground game mode called “Chaos Ball”.
While we don’t know exactly what it’s all about, the similarity to the legendary “Huttball” from SWTOR is unmistakable.
In Huttball, the objective is to carry a ball into the opposing goal, similar to rugby. The ball carrier is slowed down but can pass the ball at any time.
If the Chaos Ball game mode is something similar, it would surely be a great fun. However, to play the battleground, you need to own Morrowind. The dungeons can also be played without the new chapter.
The Elder Scrolls Online – Clockwork City is supposed to be like Orsinium
At the end of 2017, the second ESO DLC called “Clockwork City” is set to be released. It will include not only a few new instances but also an entire region that you can explore freely.
This is a replica of Tamriel created by the Dark Elf god Sotha Sil, the brother of the Tribunal deities Vivec and Almalexia.
The Clockwork City will feature as a walkable quest area in the DLC and offer numerous new adventures. And although it is closely intertwined with the background of Morrowind, you definitely do not need the new chapter to play Clockwork City.
Both DLCs can be purchased permanently for real money or can be played for free as part of an existing ESO subscription as long as the subscription is active.
In the upcoming MMORPG Chronicles of Elyria, you will be able to create your hero from one of several tribes. The developers have revealed a bit more about these tribes.
The tribes essentially represent the races in Chronicles of Elyria. Depending on which tribe you choose during character creation, it will affect your hero. Not in terms of talents, but for example, how resilient a character is.
Some tribes are simply more resilient than others. However, it also depends on what biome you are currently in. A desert tribe can endure warm areas longer, while a tribe living in a snowy landscape handles the cold better.
The right choice of tribe
Tribes in the game differ based on specific aspects. These include biology, environment, history and culture, sociology, religion, and their relationship with the world. Depending on which tribe you choose, you will start in a different location and receive bonuses on certain skills.
However, you will not be restricted to specific talents. Every tribe can essentially learn everything. Your tribe will determine, however, who your enemies and friends are and which languages you master. This can change, though. You will decide after character creation how your hero develops.
Diversity and conflict
The concept of the tribes was developed to ensure a certain balance in the game. Because survival and weather conditions in different biomes play an important role. Additionally, the team wanted to provide diversity so that each region of the world feels different. Moreover, the tribes create a constant conflict in the world as some are hostile towards one another.
To learn more about the tribes in the MMORPG Chronicles of Elyria, check out the new video about the game.

The Angel of Death Malthael has entered the Nexus of Heroes of the Storm. A worthwhile quest awaits again!
The cross-promotions between Heroes of the Storm and other Blizzard titles seem to have no end in sight at the moment. Hardly has the Nexus Challenge 2.0 and the birthday of Heroes of the Storm passed, the next bonus event follows.
To celebrate the release of the new hero Malthael, Blizzard is offering a new quest with special rewards both in Heroes of the Storm and Diablo III. The quest “Deal with Malthael” requires you to complete a total of 15 games with a friend (from your friends list) in a group while playing heroes from the Diablo universe. The games can be played against AI, in quick match, or ranked mode.
Deal with Malthael brings cool rewards
The rewards include the following:
Heroes of the Storm: Leoric’s Phantom Steed (mount) and an epic loot chest (at least 1 epic item guaranteed)
Diablo III: The Wings of “Ghost Kerrigan”
You shouldn’t take too long for the mission, as the quest is only active until June 26, 2017 – afterwards, all rewards are (temporarily) lost. Whether the items will be available again is still unknown.
Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood offers a cool new feature of swimming and diving along with underwater landscapes. At E3, lead developer Naoki Yoshida revealed a bit more about it and explained the fate of the lost skills.
Stormblood, the new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, brings in addition to the Red Mage, the Samurai and the beautiful new Asian areas in the East, a completely new feature to the game: You can swim and even dive! How everything works has been explained by FF14 chief Naoki Yoshida at E3.
Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood – Swimming becomes complex
Before you dive into the waves, you must first learn to swim, and that should only be possible when you are playing the main scenario and acquire the new ability during your progress there.
Additionally, the controls are supposed to change while swimming. Yoshida therefore recommends all players to keep UI tips turned on.

Anyone who can’t get enough of swimming can also explore the Costa del Sol region underwater. The region will be enhanced with swimming and diving with Stormblood. If you want to see the underwater regions and swimming, you can admire it in an embedded video here. Have fun splashing around!
Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood – Fashion Show and New Emotes
With Stormblood, the quite complex and overloaded skill system of FF14 will be significantly streamlined. Therefore, some skills will be removed.
However, those who have grown fond of their animations can be happy. Some of the lost skills will return as emotes. According to Yoshida, a certain dragon skill might become a kind of “Poledance” emote.

What is Anthem? We have gathered all the known information about the new game from BioWare – release, trailer, PS4, Xbox One, PC. This article will be continuously updated.
At E3 2017, EA revealed the mystery: The elusive game that had been circulating in the media as “Project Dylan” is called Anthem and is a new IP from BioWare – the development studio behind the “Mass Effect” franchise.
There were rumors beforehand that Anthem would be a “semi-MMO” similar to Destiny. Therefore, many predicted: This will be a mix of Mass Effect and Destiny!
In the meantime, some information about Anthem has come to light that supports this assumption. Time to organize the information.
Anthem – What kind of game is this?
BioWare Edmonton has been working on Anthem for over four years. According to the official EA website, it will be a “shared-world action RPG” – so indeed a semi-MMO that follows the same vein as Destiny or The Division. You can explore a strange world with friends, face dangers together, and upgrade and strengthen your character with loot.
In terms of setting, BioWare is creating an entirely new world. In Anthem, civilization is protected by a massive wall. Inside the wall lies Fort Tarsus, where humanity survives. Beyond the wall is a primitive world filled with gigantic monsters and nasty raiders.
In the world of Anthem, you are freelancers. These are the daring heroes who leave the safety of the wall to explore “a landscape of prehistoric beauty” and face the dangers that lurk out there. In Anthem, there are forces that want to conquer humanity.
Anthem is meant to be a game that will be expanded with updates and DLCs over months and years. There are talks of a journey over 10 years. It will be played in the third-person perspective.
What features does Anthem have?
These features have been mentioned by EA and discovered in the shown material:
You can team up with your friends: Squads of up to four players are possible.
Javelin Exosuits: The freelancers use combat suits called Javelins that are equipped with weapons and special abilities. On your journey, you can find and craft equipment to customize your “Javelin Exosuits.” The Javelins help you navigate the world of Anthem. You can fly, jump, climb, and even dive.
There are several classes of Javelins: So far, the Ranger (balanced class) and the Colossus (a tank) are known. These likely have different elements.
Open World: Anthem features a vast open world to explore. It is designed in a prehistoric style, which starkly contrasts with the highly advanced Javelins. It is described as a dynamic, interconnected world that will continue to change over the next few years. According to a statement by EA Vice President Patrick Soderlund, the open world will set new standards with its level of detail.
Your base is Fort Tarsus – a kind of social hub from where you prepare for your adventures, customize your Javelins, and obtain quests.
There are loot and EXP: A weapon has already been seen – a “legendary Volt Rifle” at level 35. The stats include damage, precision, range, fire rate, and ammunition. There are supposed to be “a lot of weapons” in the game.
Extreme, world-changing events: “Shaper Storms” are mentioned as an example.
With each step into the unknown, you will grow stronger. There is supposed to be a “great BioWare story” – but your choices should also change your character as well as the world around you, so that everyone experiences their own story.
Information on Co-op, Multiplayer, and Singleplayer – Will Anthem have PvP?
Anthem has been presented as a co-op game: In a squad with your friends, you can explore the world together. It aims at the same target audience as Destiny or The Division.
You can also play Anthem completely solo. It is suitable for solo players. Single and multiplayer are supposed to be seamless.
It is not yet known if Anthem will have PvP. The developers have so far evaded this question.
Release – When does Anthem come out?
Anthem will be released in Q1 2019. A specific release date is still pending.
PS4, Xbox One, PC – On which platforms will Anthem be released?
Anthem will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The lead platform is the Xbox, particularly the Xbox One X.
Since it was prominently showcased during Microsoft’s E3 press conference, many players worried that Anthem might be exclusive to Xbox. However, EA has since clarified that it will also be released on PC and Sony’s PlayStation.

By the way: The name “Anthem” was chosen because an anthem unites a group of people. This is what they also want to achieve with the game. It should foster a sense of camaraderie among players.

With an interesting justification, Sony explains why they do not offer cross-play for Rocket League and Minecraft. It’s about younger players.
In recent days, Sony has faced a lot of criticism from the gaming community for deciding against cross-platform play. Cross-play means: Players on PC, Xbox One, PS4, or other platforms can play together or against each other in the same world.
Now the responsible parties have provided a justification for why cross-play for Minecraft and Rocket League on the PS4 is out of the question.
As a reason, they mentioned the responsibility towards younger players.
Rocket League and Minecraft – No Cross-Play with PS4
During Microsoft’s E3 press conference, the developers announced that the popular survival game “Minecraft” will receive a cross-play feature between Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, Mobile, and VR devices. PlayStation 4 was not mentioned.
Yesterday, Nintendo explained at the E3 press conference that the car football game “Rocket League” will be released for Nintendo Switch. Cross-play between Xbox One, Switch, and Steam was confirmed simultaneously. Again, there was no mention of the PS4 console. What’s going on?
Sony Wants to Protect Kids
In response to a question from Eurogamer.net, Sony explained how this decision came about. Jim Ryan is the Global Sales and Marketing Head of Sony and stated that there will likely be no cross-play for now.
Generally, Sony is open to discussions with other developers and publishers, explains Jim Ryan.
“The player group of Minecraft is represented across all age groups and can be very young. We have the responsibility to care for the players who go online through us. Exposing players, some of whom are children, to external influences is something we need to think very carefully about. Because we cannot control these influences.”
This decision does not mean that cross-play with PlayStation will never happen. However, Jim Ryan adds that, to his knowledge, there are currently no active discussions within Sony on this topic.
So those of you playing Minecraft, Rocket League, or other games on PS4 should not count on playing with Nintendo Switch or Xbox One players for now.
One of the winners of E3 2017 is already clear: Microsoft and the new console Xbox One X. This interests gamers. In the battle for Google’s attention, Microsoft strikes back.
The battle of consoles is a battle for the living room – but also a battle for the interest of the search engine Google. How often is Xbox One googled? How often is the PlayStation 4? Google Trends reflect the public interest in both consoles.
So far, Sony has been able to clearly win both battles in this console generation. But that doesn’t have to remain the case.
Normally, the PlayStation 4 is five times more interesting than the Xbox One – that is now in jeopardy
Normally, the Google interest in the PlayStation 4 here in Germany is about 5 times higher than the interest in the Xbox One. However, after E3, the huge lead of the PlayStation 4 has come under pressure.
Since the unveiling of the “Xbox One X”, the console that was long known as Project Scorpio, interest in the Xbox One has skyrocketed.
Particularly in comparison to its direct competitor, the PlayStation 4 Pro, the new console shines. Xbox One X is now generating significantly more interest than the “PlayStation 4 Pro” in the last 12 months.
With the presentation, Microsoft has likely achieved a PR coup, as the impressive technical specifications and the videos shown went hand in hand with a flood of “exclusive titles.”
Xbox One X interests a lot of gamers
This flood of exclusives was to a certain extent PR puffery. Not everything is “truly” exclusive, as there were a lot of tricks. Games like Black Desert and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will appear as “Console Launch Exclusive” for the Xbox One, meaning that PS4 players just have to wait a bit.
Xbox head Phil Spencer isn’t quite sure how much of an edge the Xbox One will really have with these titles over the PlayStation 4.
During the presentation, the price of the Xbox One X was long kept secret. In the end, it was nearly $500. That doesn’t seem to deter fans, however. Interest in the Xbox One has suddenly returned – the search interest for the console is rising.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will not have a multiplayer mode. However, there are online features.
The game director of Assassin’s Creed Origins, Ashraf Ismail, announced during the “E3 Coliseum” that the game will not have multiplayer. This follows a similar path as the previously released Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, which also forgoes multiplayer modes.
The last “true” multiplayer in the AC franchise was in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. There, you could eliminate each other with hidden blades and various weapons. In Assassin’s Creed Unity, only coop was available as an online component.
However, Assassin’s Creed Origins will not be completely “offline”. Ismail spoke of online features that would enhance the single-player experience. What he means by this – he does not elaborate. Perhaps there will only be Uplay rewards. The future will tell.
In short: Assassin’s Creed Origins will have neither competitive PvP nor coop.
Assassin’s Creed Origins as “Game as a Service”
Ttime states: Already in May, there was a statement from Ubisoft that Origins would have a strong live component . This means that it follows the “Game as a Service” approach – that the game will continue to receive updates and possibly additional content after the release.
Therefore, I would have bet quite a bit that Origins will also have a multiplayer aspect. After all, Ubisoft is currently fully focused on this strategy: Players should play with their friends, and when new DLC content arrives, the game will be played more intensively again. Examples include The Division, For Honor, Ghost Recon Wildlands, or the upcoming Far Cry 5. Assassin’s Creed is now the drastic exception.
However, I also think that not every game “needs” multiplayer to be good and successful. If Assassin’s Creed Origins manages to captivate me, I will gladly spend hundreds of hours alone in ancient Egypt.
What do you think? Are you disappointed that Assassin’s Creed Origins will not have multiplayer?
Boomer is your four-legged companion in Far Cry 5. His love for you is proven by him catching bullets for you and bringing weapons.
Far Cry 5 was presented during the E3 fair with a new trailer that shows a lot of information about the gameplay. We know, for example, that you can crush your enemies there with weapons like revolvers or assault rifles. If you prefer it a bit more brutally, you can request explosive support from the air.
Loyal by your side fights the spirited dog companion “Boomer“. Apparently, he can often save your life without himself going to dog heaven.
Boomer, the Immortal
You can expect many adventures in Far Cry 5 as you fight against the fanatical cult “Project at Eden’s Gate”. It is your task to help the city and the completely frightened residents. As a companion for the campaign, you can invite a friend for the co-op mode.
Another companion impresses with a good nose and retrieving abilities.
Boomer is a dog introduced to us in the trailer. He attacks enemies and forces them to the ground, traverses difficult terrain with us and can retrieve enemy weapons when we might run out of ammunition. But what happens when enemies attack him?
The website PCGamesN conducted an interview with the creative director of Far Cry 5, Dan Hay. It was revealed that we don’t have to worry about the loyal four-legged friend “Boomer”:
“He can take shots, fall to the ground, or disappear for a short time. But he will always return.”
Positive news for all animal lovers who have been concerned about the well-being of the loyal dog. He gladly takes a bullet for you and then returns to the field shortly after with full energy, biting enemies in the butt.
Research on artifact knowledge is now significantly faster with Patch 7.2.5 in WoW. However, not everyone finds it so great…
Patch 7.2.5 of World of Warcraft is full of changes. Most of them are listed in the patch notes, but some new features are currently being rolled out via hotfixes to improve gameplay comfort – such as these changes to artifact knowledge.
Researching new levels of artifact knowledge in World of Warcraft usually takes several days per level. Those who have been playing diligently over the past few weeks and renewed their research every few days have now reached level 40 and equipped their twinks with it.
Blizzard seems to want to better accommodate potential returnees who turned their backs on Legion a while ago, which is why a hotfix is currently being implemented.
Patch 7.2.5 in WoW reduces artifact knowledge research time
The research time for artifact knowledge levels between 26 and 40 is drastically reduced. Whereas researching a previous level took 3 to 4 days, it is now reduced to a mere 4 hours!
In the official forums and on Reddit, this change is met with mixed opinions. Many players are happy that they can now catch up quickly and rejoin the game. Other players feel “screwed over,” wondering why they played regularly for the last two months when the entire research can now be completed in just under 3 days.
However, the costs for research – 500 Order resources each time – are not reduced. Order resources can only be obtained through world quests and exchanging Blood of Sargeras, so it still doesn’t come easily.
What do you think of the change? A good thing for returnees or are you angry? Or do you not understand the displeasure at all because no one had anything taken away?
The marathon of press conferences for E3 2017 is over. Our editors and authors have rubbed their eyes and present you with their highlights.
It’s pretty crazy. We at Mein-MMO.de cover only a few games compared to other sites, those with a strong focus on online multiplayer.
Often, this means that in one week there are only a few “really exciting news” – a patch here, a new champion there, a rumor about an expansion here. You know the drill.
During E3, it’s different: New games, sequels, and expansions are presented at the E3 press conferences at lightning speed. One trailer follows another. News that would dominate the headlines for days in other weeks become a footnote.
Normally big headlines. During the E3 week, when the blockbusters and flagship titles like Anthem, Destiny 2, or Beyond Good and Evil 2 come to the forefront, they sometimes just become footnotes.
Time to organize the info.
These are our highlights from the E3 2017 press conferences
After 3 days of news flood, the press conferences are now over. We have digested the information and want to present you our highlights from the E3 press conferences.
Jürgen sets sail
I love sailing ships, pirates, and beautiful landscapes! Therefore, Skull & Bones grabbed me immediately when I saw the first announcements about it. I really enjoyed the naval battles in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, so I am very pleased that in Skull & Bones everything comes to life even more and I get my beloved World of Warships with pirate ships.

Especially the different tactics of the ship classes, the sophisticated weather engine, and the customization options of the own ship fascinated me. I just hope that Ubisoft dares a bit more with Skull & Bones and that the gameplay doesn’t focus ONLY on naval battles. The cool setting of the golden age of piracy is actually too good just to sink ships again and again. Hopefully, the story mode will remedy that.
Cortyn’s life gets even weirder
My favorite at E3 was definitely the successor to Life is Strange. Although, actually it’s the predecessor, as “Before the Storm” follows Chloe’s story during the time she meets Rachel Amber. Only a few games have emotionally taken me along like Life is Strange, which is why I have high expectations for the second season.

Even then, when the game no longer features the original voice actress of Chloe. The bar is set high for Dontnod. Whether it will also deal with time travel and alternative timelines is still unclear – maybe there will also be a completely new superpower. I am definitely excited for the first of three episodes to release in August – because “Life is Strange: Before the Storm” will again come as a season.
For Ttime, Destiny 2 was surprisingly overtaken
My highlight of E3 2017? Actually, I was most looking forward to the trailer for Destiny 2. Bungie can create breathtaking trailers – they have shown that many times in the past – and so I expected a breathtaking and highly emotional video at E3 that would really boost the hype.
But with what Ubisoft showed, many fans had to rub their eyes: A huge open world in ancient Egypt, impressive graphics, RPG elements, and an overhauled combat system – Assassin’s Creed doesn’t reinvent itself this year, but makes a lot bigger and – presumably – better.

I am a huge fan of the AC franchise from the beginning and I have played every game in the main series since Altair up and down. And I am already looking forward to continuing the journey as an assassin this fall. Oh yeah, and Anthem was also really awesome!
Alone or in co-op mode, you go brutally against a fanatic cult in Far Cry 5 and show the members that they have no place in Hope County. Support comes from the loyal four-legged friend “Boomer”, who catches bullets for you but does not die. For me, as a dog lover, that’s a selling point! BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
Schuhmann loves popcorn
My highlight was Anthem. I just love popcorn. Four people meet after work, jump into Iron Man suits, fly around, shoot monsters in the face, and talk about their day and loot: I’m in!

I don’t expect a story milestone. I expect a co-op blockbuster to play with outstanding gameplay and great visuals.
I hope BioWare take inspiration not only from the aesthetics of Pacific Rim or Iron Man but also from their atmosphere. And after the trailer, it seems like they’re pulling it off.
If they combine a relaxed co-op atmosphere with fascination for this huge, alien world, then I will have a lot of fun with Anthem.
These were the highlights of the Mein-MMO.de editorial team from the press conferences at E3. What were your highlights?

For a long time, speculation has been rife, and the appearance of mysterious aliens in Elite: Dangerous hinted that the Thargoids are returning with Patch 2.4!
This has now been officially confirmed by the developer studio Frontier Developments. With Update 2.4, the great conflict begins. While the aliens have not yet conducted any attacks, this will soon change. Until now, the gigantic ships have only appeared sporadically in space, scanning ships or interacting with alien artifacts on some planets. Players cannot intervene yet.
The aliens are back
But Update 2.4 will bring the first battles between humans and Thargoids. The developers announce that humanity must prepare for war.
Their territories are slowly being taken over by the Thargoids. New technologies and tactics are needed to contend with this seemingly overpowering enemy. Humanity has already dealt with the aliens before. But how that conflict turned out is today a silent secret. The existence of the aliens has been obscured and all evidence destroyed. But now they are returning.
A new dynamic enters the game
At this time, it is unclear what intentions the Thargoids have, but during the first encounter, they revealed themselves as superior fighters. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare for a conflict. With the appearance of the Thargoids, the dynamics of Elite Dangerous are changing, as you must also expect to encounter hostile aliens everywhere.
Update 2.4 is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2017 for the space online game Elite Dangerous.

The global events in The Division 1.7 are supposed to be linked with stories. Additionally, they offer extra group mechanics.
A new feature of update 1.7 will be the global events. Ubisoft recently published an article about these events, containing some interesting information.
The global events were designed to bring fresh air into the open world of The Division. They will only take place in the PvE area in the endgame. The plan is to hold an event once a month, which will then be active for a week. In the meantime, there will be more frequent smaller events in a “double rewards weekend style.”
Global modifiers bring story elements
Once a global event goes live, all PvE activities will get a global modifier. This modifier is supposed to be linked to stories taking place in post-apocalyptic New York, providing more information about the background story and lore. How this will look exactly is still unknown.
What modifiers are available for the events?
Ubisoft introduces three types of modifiers:
The Global Modifiers are always “positive” modifiers. This means they support you in the fight against NPCs. For example, they can enhance your agent or provide a new gameplay experience. The goal: The global modifiers make activities easier and more interesting as they motivate new play styles. An example of such a modifier: Headshot kills lead to explosions that apply the bleeding status effect to nearby enemies.
Activity Modifiers: Optional modifiers that allow you to make the content more challenging. These are only available for specific missions in a “Global Event Playlist”. These missions are marked in violet on the map. Not only story missions, but also incursions can be adjusted here. An example of such a modifier: Enemies become “toxic”. If you get too close to them, they deal damage over time. Additionally, headshot kills cause bleeding.
Group Modifiers: A form of the activity modifiers. They are meant to provide extra challenges with additional group mechanics. In the team, you have to devise tactics to master the missions. Coordination and teamwork will be necessary.
A souvenir shop where you can spend the new tokens
Why should I choose the optional modifiers?
If you choose these additional modifiers, there will be more rewards. These rewards are “Global Events Tokens” – a new currency that you can use to purchase prizes from a new vendor at the terminal. This vendor offers sealed crates containing cosmetic items and new objects that will only be discussed in the future. According to info from ETF members, there should also be “stat items” obtainable through the tokens.
The modifiers shown so far may change before the release of 1.7. They will be tested on public test servers (PC, PS4, Xbox One) in the future.
There is still no release date – neither for update 1.7 nor for the test phase of update 1.7.
“The Deaths of Chromie” is the new scenario in World of Warcraft with patch 7.2.5. But how does it work exactly? What do you need to consider? Our WoW Chromie Guide provides a starting point.
With patch 7.2.5 for World of Warcraft, there is a small but exciting piece of content that delights players: the scenario “The Deaths of Chromie“. However, those who have already taken a look into the scenario may have quickly felt overwhelmed. What do you need to consider? How should you proceed? We provide a brief guide with an overview and help on how to tackle the initial hurdles.
Khadgar in Dalaran opens the quest for “The Deaths of Chromie”
Preparation: The necessary quest “Chromie” starts with Khadgar in Dalaran and sends you directly to the Wyrmrest Temple in Northrend. The corresponding portal can be found under Dalaran, so long travel is unnecessary.
In the follow-up quest, you accompany Chromie as she experiences her own death multiple times and learns that the attacks come from various dragon shrines. She then attempts to travel further into the past to determine who is launching the attacks – but this fails.
The maximum time she can buy is 15 minutes. These 15 minutes are also the time limit that the scenario sets for you. Additionally, you will be set to player level 112 and your item level will be raised to 1000 – gear thus plays a minimal role.
What needs to be done for Chromie?
In total, 4 attacks must be repelled for the first step of the scenario. Which shrine you deal with first is ultimately irrelevant.
Black Dragon Shrine: Reach the end of the tunnel and defeat the large skeletal construct. Return with the obtained quest item to the entrance and defeat the terror lord.
Red Dragon Shrine: Defeat the 3 undead bosses and then the final boss of the shrine.
Green Dragon Shrine: Kill enemies (plants and birds) to collect items. Once you have enough, you can switch to the Nightmare to save the three ancients of the shrine. Then go to the “Hand” of the large dragon skeleton and defeat the satyr.
Blue Dragon Shrine: Simply defeat enemies until you have 50 collecting items. Then fly to the marked platform and defeat the Lord of the Void.
The shrines were just the beginning
Each final boss of a shrine leaves a quest item that you must still bring back to the Wyrmrest Temple during the scenario. This then unlocks a “Chronoportal,” which also needs to be cleared. That’s right: you must eliminate not just 4, but a total of 8 threats in time! But there are some aids for this…
Sand of Time – The Helper in Need
Enemies during the scenario occasionally drop “Sand of Time.” This can be used to unlock various bonuses. There is a fixed value of reputation gain, a percentage reputation buff for the rest of the scenario, gold rewards, movement speed buffs, and – most importantly – extra time.
If you can spend Sand of Time for additional seconds, you should do so in most cases. The bonus time adds up and allows you to perhaps take down one or two more bosses and get closer to completing the scenario.
Sand of Time is available as a drop and from chests.
A buff even allows you to clear a dragon shrine immediately – it’s best used on a “fresh” shrine.
Sand of Time can also be found in Chrono Chests that are scattered around the scenario – just keep your eyes open (or choose Chromie’s talent that reveals the chests).
Chromie’s Talents
If at the beginning you can only clear one or two dragon shrines, don’t worry about it. The more time you spend in the scenario, the more talents you unlock, which make future visits easier. Every attempt will go smoother than the previous one. Eventually, you will be able to manage all 4 shrines simultaneously.
At the beginning, most talents are not yet unlocked – this changes with growing reputation!
By killing enemies, you gain reputation. With this, you reach new reputation levels with Chromie and can adjust her talents at the start of the scenario. This allows you to play the scenario as a healer! Besides the direct buffs like new abilities for Chromie, there are also passive bonuses such as increased damage and faster movement speed.
The scenario rewards you with transmog sets, by the way. But for most, the enjoyment of the scenario is reward enough.
