This tournament was probably not an advertisement for For Honor.
Tomorrow, on August 15th, Season 3 of For Honor begins. To get into the spirit of this new content update, Ubisoft held a tournament with ESL over the weekend – as Season 3 will introduce a tournament mode in For Honor for the first time.
The “For Honor Hero Series” were, according to the official Twitter account of For Honor, a complete success: thrilling matches were played, three winners were crowned (one on each platform), and they were extensively congratulated for being the first champions of the “Hero Series”.
However, this tournament apparently did not go as smoothly as Reddit user ColdBlackCage reveals. He describes the tournament as embarrassing. Because the winner on PC used a well-known exploit, and there were various balance issues during the tournament.

“You need to change your playstyle,” says Ubisoft to the winner
The Pole Alernakin managed to defeat the American Bandanaa in the PC final and seize the title. He himself admitted to using the long-known “Unlock tech” exploit. With this technique, one can bypass the opponent’s block with certain attacks or execute attacks more quickly. With the right timing, it is possible to perform a “phantom strike” (i.e., an invisible strike that deals damage) before the actual strike, as seen in this video:

Ubisoft also noticed this exploit during the tournament, which is why the Creative Director of For Honor told the winner at the trophy presentation that he might soon have to change his playstyle:

However, this was not the only “embarrassing” situation for Ubisoft. Throughout the tournament, balance issues and bugs were evident. For example, a certain tactic with the Raider is so effective that there is almost nothing to counter it, causing many matches to unfold as follows:

The Reddit user also reports several bugs during the tournament, such as this one: The opponent falls to the ground after an attempt to grab because the ground is somewhat uneven. This shouldn’t happen. The opponent is incredulous:

12,000 upvotes currently agree with the user that the tournament was embarrassing. Especially since this “Unlock tech” exploit is not a new discovery, but has long been plaguing For Honor. However, Ubisoft has not managed to eliminate it so far.
A user in the comments concludes that it is quite ironic that the first tournament winner of a game called “For Honor” used exploits.
The group stage of this year’s Overwatch World Cup 2017 has ended as of last night, and the winners are now known. The German team will not compete for the title at Blizzcon despite tough matches.
32 teams from 32 countries qualified for the group stage of the World Cup. In eight groups of four teams each, they fought over the past weekends for one of the last eight spots, to compete for the title of world champion at Blizzcon this coming November.

The teams were assembled by committees previously elected through a vote of the Overwatch community in their respective countries. For Germany, these were the two pro-gamers Dennis “INTERNETHULK” Hawelka and Nicholas “skipjack” Rosada, as well as the streamer and caster “Cirouss”.
Ultimately, the committee selected the following players for the team:
Joshua “cRNKz” Santana as an offensive player
Dennis “INTERNETHULK” Hawelka as support
Herman “Nesh” Kobrin as a flex player
Nicholas “skipjack” Rosada as tank
Arthur “Eissfeldt” Marx as a flex player
Marcel “Veinless” Lehmann as support
Skipjack’s profile as seen in an overlay during the live broadcast.
The Group Stage Process
Each team played against all three other teams in their group. The matches consisted of 4 rounds. In each round, a map from a different category was played:
Hybrid: King’s Row, Numbani, and Hollywood
Control: Ilios, Lijang Tower, and Nepal
Assault: Horizon Lunar Colony and Volskaya Industries
Escort: Dorado and Route 66
Moderator iOllek and caster KamiKatze analyzing a match. The analyses often helped in understanding the matches.
The maps played were selected through mutual vetoes from both teams. In the case of a 2:2 tie, a tiebreaker match was played on the control map Oasis. In the exciting matches, the following teams were able to establish themselves as group winners in their respective groups:
Group A: China and Norway
Group B: France and Thailand
Group C: Sweden and Australia
Group D: Japan and Spain
Group E: South Korea and the Netherlands
Group F: Canada and Russia
Group G: The USA and Chinese Taipei
Group H: The United Kingdom and Germany
Good job, German craftsmanship!
Accordingly, the matches of Group H in Los Angeles from August 11-13 were particularly exciting. Germany narrowly won their first encounter against Israel with a score of 3:2. With the first-ever tie in the group stage for a map (Horizon Lunar Colony, with each team getting one point), the matches were balanced and exciting. The strength of the German Overwatch players became clearer in the match against Belgium.
The German team dominated Belgian and secured the encounter with a score of 4:0.
In the final match against the United Kingdom, the German team was overwhelmed. This was surprising. Although the UK team was considered the favorite, a 4:0 win for the UK was unexpectedly clear.
The German team after some matches against the Belgians.
No victory in the Round of 16, but exciting matches
Germany finished second in the group and faced the USA in the Round of 16, which was contested in a best-of-five format. The German team held its own against the significantly stronger USA.
Nevertheless, Germany lost 0:3 and will not participate in the title race at Blizzcon.
The individual results of the Round of 16 are:
China : Thailand
3 : 0
Sweden : Spain
3 : 0
South Korea : Russia
3 : 0
USA : Germany
3 : 0
France : Norway
3 : 0
Japan : Australia
2 : 3
Canada : Netherlands
3 : 0
United Kingdom : Chinese Taipei
3 : 0
In the quarter-finals in November, we will thus see the following encounters:
China vs Sweden
South Korea vs USA
France vs Australia
Canada vs the UK
Thus, eight very strong teams will compete against each other. Who will ultimately take home the trophy remains to be seen – and for Germany, we hope for another chance next year!
The YouTuber MoreConsole reports additional information from the Edge magazine. Accordingly, a “Magician” will play a role in Destiny 2.
Note: Possible spoilers ahead!
Information about the magician, clan rewards, and exotics
The Edge magazine writes that there is a lot of stuff that they are not allowed to talk about yet. But one day we will encounter a magician in Destiny 2. Currently, one can only speculate who or what that will be. Or why Edge is allowed to tease this magician but not say more about them. One thing is certain: some secrets will only be revealed when Destiny 2 is released in September.
However, Edge was allowed to report on a few details.
In Destiny 2, clans play an important role. If you are a member of a clan, you will receive additional rewards. What these will look like specifically is still unknown. Luke Smith mentioned months ago that the rewards will be similar to the Super Bowl: every staff member, from the coach to the groundskeeper, receives a reward (a ring) when they win. And in Destiny 2, every clan member will also be rewarded – whether they participated actively in an activity or not.
The new information from the Edge article confirms this Super Bowl comparison: If members of your clan master the Nightfall Strike, but you were not present, you still receive reward packages. So there are advantages to being in a clan.
Additionally, it is said that you will be able to obtain an exotic quite early in the campaign. Possibly, you can use exotics in Destiny 2 before reaching the maximum level.
The article talks about a “brand new Warlock chest piece”. This allows the player to hover in the air while aiming with a weapon (reminds of the Titan helmet Celestial nighthawk). Kills while hovering are said to recharge the grenade faster.

The “Crowd-Pleaser” perk from the new Gunslinger Hunter leads to precision kills generating Orbs of Light with the Golden Gun. According to the article, this perk can generate up to 8 Orbs – allowing your teammates to quickly get to their super.
Patrols and strikes will only be unlocked when you reach the last third of the campaign.
The conclusion to Edge’s story: “It’s an exciting experience with an extensive and gripping storyline.” The campaign has an epic scope.
The final boss of the campaign is said to be a kind of “shapeshifter”. He is not a boss that simply takes a lot of damage. Instead, you will require “skill”.
The MMO Fortnite struggles with the complexity issue. The target audience is unfamiliar with certain upgrade mechanics as they originate from the mobile gaming sector. Tutorials are lacking.
In a longer interview, the Creative Director of Fortnite discussed the problems of the game.
Fortnite made a relatively last-minute decision to become an online game and appear on PS4 and Xbox One. After this decision, the interface was restructured.
For this reason, several tutorials are still lacking in the game. This should improve in the next six months.
Fortnite too complex – it feels intimidating
Currently, many players find Fortnite intimidatingly complex. According to the Creative Director, it depends on whether players have experience with “evolution-based RPGs”; especially the leveling up of items and characters with certain ingredients overwhelms many players at first, who are unfamiliar with it.
Those who are familiar with this system from other games have no problems and adapt quickly.
In the coming months, they intend to continue working on this weakness and simplify the interface so that information is locked at the beginning and then becomes available later when the player is ready for it.
Cultural shock: Update system “Evolution” comes from mobile games, which is why many are unfamiliar with it
Mein-MMO says: What the Creative Director does not reveal: The “Evolution system” he refers to is prevalent in Asian Free2Play mobile RPGs and is part of monetization. Similar systems are included in games like Marvel Future Fight or War of Crown . These Free2Play games face constant accusations of being either too grindy or “Pay2Win”.
The ingredients needed to elevate a hero to the next quality level must be grinded, and many players then resort to using their credit cards. This monetization model, which includes “extremely rare rarity levels and upgrading”, is a factor behind the incredibly high revenues from mobile games in Asia right now.
Difference between Asia and the West
The difference in the model is roughly:
In the games we know, one gains experience points by playing and using a character themselves
In Fortnite, one has to “feed it with other characters and items”: with experience points earned when “deconstructing” other items, or those gained in missions into a “large pool”
Such systems are not common in full-price games and on PC here. Therefore, most core gamers are not familiar with these mechanics, and an understanding of them must first develop: Fortnite seems incredibly complex to them. Also because tutorials are missing to explain the model in detail.
But only with an understanding of this model can related concepts of Fortnite such as leveling, endgame, and progression be comprehended. The monetization and the cash shop are also understood only when one has grasped the evolution concept.
Fans of Asian mobile RPGs would likely have fewer problems settling into Fortnite than PS4 players who are accustomed to a very different type of game.
How much money one can spend in Fortnite can be seen here:
DC Universe Online has been working for a relatively long time on a major skill update. It came last month, in July 2017: Power Points have been removed, new skill trees have been introduced, powers have been changed, it was really something.
The feedback from players is quite mixed. Generally, all players find DC Universe Online now significantly more difficult and tedious than before.
Superheroes now find DC Universe Online super difficult
In a producer letter, they now address the feedback. They summarize the feedback as follows:
Experienced players complained that it now takes a long time to complete endgame content
Most players say: Game content that they have out-leveled and could previously breeze through now takes longer
New players or players in mid-game find that the content is too difficult for their level
And those who have not dealt with the changes find everything generally too difficult
However, there is also positive feedback. Players said the power sets are now well balanced. There is a great variance in which equipment and abilities are used – and players now feel that game mechanics and values are important and must be considered.
Change is never easy, but more changes are to come
Daybreak’s response is as mixed as the feedback. Generally, they say: Change is never easy, but necessary.
Some feedback is seen as positive. They appreciate that the game is a bit more challenging and encourages players to adapt. Especially the advanced content should indeed be more difficult.
But the fact that new players are now struggling is not seen as good.
Therefore, they want to make adjustments in the short term to make DC Universe Online a bit easier, especially in the early game. In the medium term, they want to enhance rewards and change the entire item and progression system to fit the new standard. In the long term, the feat system should be revised and made more rewarding. Players should have easier and different ways to earn skill points.
It seems Daybreak has a lot on their hands.
Long-term issues seem to plague the studio behind DCUO:
The LFR in World of Warcraft is getting tougher. Blizzard no longer wants to know anything about an easy “tourist mode” – is that good or bad?
The Raid Finder in World of Warcraft has always had a peculiar special status. It was intended to allow players, even without a coordinated raid group, to experience the toughest content of WoW.
But in reality, things usually look different: The tank charges ahead, the group follows. There are flashes and blinks everywhere as the boss uses its various abilities. But that doesn’t really scratch the players’ health bars, and even the healers happily DPS the boss because there is nothing else to do.
This means that all players can see the boss, but a true sense of achievement does not materialize.
Kil’Jaeden is the first step away from the tourist mode
With this, Blizzard wanted to make a change and has taken the first step in this direction with Kil’Jaeden, the final boss from the Tomb of Sargeras.
Kil’Jaeden (LFR) uses significantly fewer mechanics than his twins in normal, heroic, or even mythic mode, but they are still deadly – even for well-equipped players.
And this is also the general path Blizzard wants to take in the future: Reducing the number of boss mechanics in LFR but keeping them relevant, threatening, and interesting. Because only then would LFR players feel a real sense of challenge.
“In the past, we used the term tourist mode to describe the raid finder, but that is no longer our design philosophy. We want to ensure that players still have an interesting gameplay experience in LFR (even if it is not as intense as in higher difficulties).
Ornyx (Community Manager of Blizzard) added at the end: “It is important to note that we believe that the boss fight should be challenging and dramatic, regardless of the difficulty.”
And we can only wholeheartedly agree. It greatly enhances the LFR if there is at least a minimum level of communication and tactics present. Because if we are honest, almost nothing was more boring than the “forced” LFR brain-off visits to get loot, artifact power, or quest items.
However, the new plan is also not well received by all players. In the official forum, there were numerous outcries that Kil’Jaeden in LFR is far too difficult to defeat with an average group of the “idiot lottery”.
What do you think about it? Should LFR be more difficult than in the past? Or would you rather grab loot without problems and just get away quickly?
Third-party programs can enhance the gaming experience on PC – but can also be a breeding ground for cheaters and hackers. Bungie is trying to balance providing players with all possibilities while leaving no backdoor for hackers and cheaters. Can this succeed?
The foundation of many third-party programs is to add features to the game client located on the hard drive. This often involves direct code entry. This is also the basis for many hacking tools.
Therefore, Bungie will restrict certain tools and their functions in Destiny 2.
How Bungie plans to make life difficult for hackers and cheaters
No interventions in the game client will be allowed in Destiny 2. No matter from which external source they occur.
This makes it difficult for cheaters to intervene in the program code, but also useful software like streaming programs or FPS displays will be affected.
Bungie has now announced which software will be affected by the restrictions of the game client.
Streaming and Game Recording
The game capture mode of apps like OBS and XSplit will not be available.
The following methods will be supported for Destiny 2 on PC:
Recording while playing in exclusive fullscreen mode (fullscreen, but not windowed mode):
Hardware recordings like Elgato, AVerMedia, or a PC intended for streaming will be supported.
Nvidia Shadow and AMD ReLive will be supported.
Recordings in windowed mode will be supported as follows:
OBS and XSplit Screen / Window – Capture Mode
Bungie also points out that other programs like Dxtory, Razer Cortex, and Fraps will be subject to similar restrictions as those mentioned above. Issues may also arise with unmentioned apps or programs.
Overlays for Voice Communication and FPS Display
Some features that rely on screen overlays will not function. With regard to voice communication, Discord or Mumble will not be supported. Notification functionalities should work normally. Only the overlays in the game itself will not function.
Frame rate and statistic overlays like those from EVGA Precision Xoc, MSI Afterburner, and Fraps will not be compatible with Destiny 2.
If you want to monitor the FPS performance, Bungie directly provides a method in-game. You can also set a cap for the frame rate.
Bungie also points out that the list is not exhaustive, and other programs may cause problems.
Mein MMO thinks: Whether Bungie will succeed in keeping cheaters and hackers out with these measures is cautiously doubtful. The community shows a creativity that has already made life difficult for some game developers. Bungie will have to prove that they can react swiftly to unauthorized interventions in the game and ban the offenders.
What do you think of Bungie’s policy to exclude external programs that intervene in the game client? Let us know in the comments!

Conan Exiles is expected to run on Xbox with “relatively stable” 30 FPS and 900p native resolution. The detail level is supposed to correspond roughly to the “Medium” setting on PC. The framerate (is still) not fully stable, as there may be drops in some areas. The team is working on fixing these.
The Comparison: Xbox and PC
In response to our question about whether there are significant differences between the PC and console versions, Erik replied: “They will have the same updates and mechanics.”
The Xbox version will also get official PvE and PvP servers, offered in “fast” and “normal” variants. Private servers can also be rented.
No option for Xbox One: The penis slider.
Meet Friends from Distant Platforms!
Players who want to play with friends on PC can also rejoice: There is consideration to enable cross-platform play. However, when exactly this feature is planned is still unknown. It will likely come at the earliest with the release of the game and the exit from Early Access status in early 2018.
It should be noted that it will still take several months before the game leaves its pre-release phase. During this time, a lot can and will change.
We can take on this grim character starting August 16.
“The Frozen North” will be released on August 16, 2017, the same day Conan Exiles will be released on Xbox.
The former soccer professional Edgar Davids says that he was the template for a LoL skin. A court has now agreed with this claim.
In the MOBA League of Legends, there are many different champions that can be unlocked with in-game currency. All of these champions also have at least one additional skin that visually changes the heroes. So the nasty gangster “Graves” with his shotgun becomes a guy in swim trunks and a water gun.
For the champion “Lucian”, there is a skin that transforms the nasty AD carry into a striker in a soccer outfit. However, this cosmetic change has now caused problems, as it seems that a former professional was used as the template.
Striker Lucian looks like soccer player Edgar Davids
The skin in question is “Striker Lucian”, which was released in League of Legends back in June 2014. In the LoL shop, this skin can be purchased for real money.
Now, about three years after the release of Striker Lucian, there are problems with this skin. The former soccer professional (now coach) Edgar Davids claims that the skin looks very similar to him and that Riot is making a lot of money from it.
Riot Games is said to have exploited and profited from his celebrity status. Davids is world-renowned, having played for the Dutch national team and, among others, for Juventus Turi.
In its defense, Riot Games stated that players would recognize the character Lucian more from the skin. The Dutch court saw it differently and ruled in favor of Davids in the legal dispute.
Davids is now entitled to earnings generated from the sale of Striker Lucian. In the following image, you can see a comparison between Davids and Striker Lucian.
Source: Reddit
At first he was happy about the skin, now the turnaround
Many players in the community are wondering where this completely different attitude from Davids suddenly comes from. When the skin was introduced in June 2014, the former soccer professional was anything but upset about it.
On Instagram, Davids shared a picture of the Lucian skin with his fans on June 5, 2014, and wrote “My son says his father was used as a template for this LoL character hahahah”
https://www.instagram.com/p/o3wMpPCo-E/
The next day, it didn’t seem like he had any problems with this skin on Twitter either.

Overwatch is getting a “Free-for-All” mode. But does this even fit Blizzard’s hero shooter? We tried it out!
A few days ago, the PTR of Overwatch version 1.14 went live and introduced two game modes that no one expected: Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch.
But do these modes really fit Overwatch and are they fun? We jumped onto the PTR and played a few rounds. We reveal the results here.
Mindless Shooting is also Fun in Overwatch
Although Overwatch is quite a colorful and fast-paced game, strategy and teamwork are usually in the foreground. If someone just wants to “shoot a bit”, they rarely get their money’s worth in Overwatch. However, the Deathmatch mode could change that.
The new map, Château Guillard, is the perfect playground. There are numerous corridors, multiple levels, jump pads for quick movement, and plenty of pits that can quickly become death traps. Particularly less popular heroes (like Junkrat and Roadhog) excel on this map. A well-placed mine or the right hook can swiftly send opponents off the map.
Shooter veterans might positively reminisce about Unreal Tournament on this map. Though with slightly less blood, but better graphics.
Few moments are as satisfying as jumping into a skirmish of four players and wiping them all out with your ultimate.
No matter how you look at it: Deathmatch is quick and it’s really fun to carelessly throw yourself into a group of enemies who are all also hostile.
Is it tactically challenging? Definitely not. Is it fun? Absolutely!
Mercy can Steal Kills from Enemies!
For those who don’t want to completely abandon tactics and teamwork, there’s Team Deathmatch, where 6vs6 is played. It’s still chaotic, but communication is important, as each death brings the opposing team closer to victory.
Particularly interesting are the small details in this mode. Typically, a match lasts until one side accumulates 30 kills. However, it can take longer, as a resurrection by Mercy takes kills away from the opposing team! So if Mercy resurrects 5 players, 5 victory points are deducted from the opponents.
But is this really a smart idea? At first glance, it seemed that having a Mercy was almost mandatory – stealing up to one-sixth of the victory points sounds like it could be the most powerful ability in this mode.
In summary, the Deathmatch modes are probably not something that will keep players glued to Overwatch for weeks. But when you’re not feeling up for the effort of a competitive match, this is the perfect way to let off some steam – and that’s exactly what these modes were designed for.
Did you know that one in 6,000 players gets a Chicken Dinner in their first PUBG game? Interesting statistics about the game can be found here.
Since the start of Early Access in March 2017, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has attracted millions of players.
In total, over ten million matches have been played, providing interesting statistics on the battle royale shooter.
The most popular weapons, distances traveled on foot and in vehicles, and total playtime are just a few of the stats that game developer Bluehole shared with IGN. Here you can learn some cool facts about the game.
PUBG Stats – Fun Facts about the Shooter
The statistics for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds were collected between March 23 and July 19 and are therefore not completely up to date. Still, they give you a good overview of what’s happening in PUBG and how often and intensely the game is played.
By the way, we are very interested in how the long-distance kill occurred. Hopefully, everything was done fairly.
The following graphics are from IGN
More than 25,000 years of playtime
25,815 years is the total playtime of all players who played until July 19. How many hours have you invested?
Total games until July 19
Over 10 million games at the time of measurement on July 19.
How many tons of chicken were won?
A lot of chicken is being awarded as a prize. Over 10,000 tons!
The most deaths caused by?
It’s not surprising that weapons are the most common cause of death in PUBG. Then come vehicles, followed by grenades, close combat attacks, and finally the deadly zones.
Vehicle kills – Run over or exploded?
You can run over opponents with vehicles to get kills. This method leads to death much more frequently than exploding vehicles.
Grenades – Frag or Molotov?
Over 70 million kills have already been achieved with frag grenades. The fiery cocktails are less frequently used for killing.
Which zone is deadlier?
The explosions in the red zone are engaged in a close contest with kills caused by the circle of death.
Farthest kill distance
Wow! Over six thousand meters? How?
How many meters were covered?
In PUBG, there is a lot of movement! 2,307,042,079,214 meters (Please read aloud: Two trillion – three hundred seven billion – forty-two million – seventy-nine thousand two hundred fourteen)
On foot or by car? Which distance is greater?
A close “race” (sorry).
Are you one of the 6,000 lucky players?
Do you count among the one in 6,000 players who won a Chicken Dinner in their first PUBG round?
The deadliest type of weapon
For most of you, it’s probably no big surprise that assault rifles come in first place. In second and third place, there’s a close race between shotguns and submachine guns.
Most popular assault rifles
The most kills with assault rifles were achieved with the AKM and the M16A4.
Most popular shotguns
In first place is the S1897, with more than double the kills compared to the S12K and the S686.
Most popular SMGs
The UMP9 is well received by many players. It is in first place among SMGs with 62.2 million kills.
Most popular sniper rifles
Among snipers, the SKS is very popular. With 27.2 million kills, it ranks first, ahead of the KAR98K with 20.7 million kills.
Most popular pistols
Among pistols, there’s a close race for first place. The P1911 leads with 15.8 million kills – closely followed by the P92 with 15.6 million kills.
Popular “Other” Weapons
Besides the main weapons, other models are also popular. The M249 has already achieved 2.27 million kills and the crossbow has over 1.3 million kills.
The story of Destiny 1 was ridiculed for its flat dialogue and poorly explained plot twists. The lack of variety was also criticized. With Destiny 2, Bungie aims to do everything better.
The magazine Edge was allowed to look behind the scenes at Bungie and share some information with the gaming community. It is said that there will be more than 80 missions and PvE activities in Destiny 2.
The PvE – Over 80 Missions
Destiny 2 will feature over 80 missions and PvE activities. The report states that each of the activities has sufficient length, story, and reward.
You should be rewarded for what you do and have fun while doing it.
The developers have included so much content that it was discovered during the development process that there was too much content for the scope of gameplay progression. This was then addressed.
Nightfalls with Time Limits and Shield Explosions
Another innovation in Destiny 2 will be the introduction of time limits for Nightfall Strikes. This is intended to encourage Guardians to proceed in a coordinated and efficient manner to complete the Nightfall Strikes. In the past, these Strikes became too easy through exploits – and sometimes took forever. Bungie wants to put a stop to this.
In the beta, we couldn’t also admire how the shields of enemies explode after being shot by energy weapons. Bungie has fixed this for the main game as well. It should be worthwhile to shoot enemy shields with energy weapons since the explosion damages nearby enemies.
Bungie Doesn’t Reveal Everything – Secrecy with the Hunter
Edge has also discovered more exciting things, but they are not allowed to report on them. Only some topics have been vaguely mentioned.
The Hunter is said to feel very good now, but Edge does not go into detail here. They simply state that they were very pleased with the Hunter.
Guardians should also get opportunities to speed up the recharge time for grenades and Super abilities. This should reward a special, aggressive playstyle. A new exotic armor for the Warlock was mentioned as an example, which allows it to hover in the air and greatly speed up grenade recharge when getting kills in the air.
What do you think of the many PvE activities? Just right or too much? Let us know in the comments!
We show you in this guide how to defeat Lord Marrowgar, Deathbringer Saurfang, and Lady Deathwhisper in Hearthstone on the Frozen Throne!
The new expansion Knights of the Frozen Throne is live in Hearthstone . With it came not only 135 fresh cards but also a handful of story missions (like in the adventures back then). For the prologue, no help is needed. While you lose against the Lich King, this is intentional and part of the “story” that Blizzard wants to tell with Knights of the Frozen Throne.
However, the next 3 bosses of Wing 1 are significantly more difficult.
We will tell you which decks you can use to reliably defeat the bosses.
Guide for Lord Marrowgar (on this page)
Guide for Deathbringer Saurfang
Guide for Lady Deathwhisper
How to defeat Lord Marrowgar (Lord Mark’gar) in Hearthstone
The first boss is Lord Marrowgar and has mainly two mechanics that make life difficult for players.
Bone Spike: A minion with 0/8 that deals 15 damage to the player at the beginning of the next turn of the boss.
Bone Reconstruction: Mark’gar’s hero power heals all damage he has taken and brings him back to 30 health at the end of his turn.
Basically, there are two tried and tested strategies. Either you go for a “One Turn Kill” combo with a priest by buffing your own minion and then sending it in with over 30 damage, or you opt for a fatigue deck. Here, the match is played until the boss has no cards left and dies from the fatigue damage incurred.
We chose Zelgraz’s paladin deck, which simply outlasts the opponent. Especially many taunt minions and powerful heals like Forbidden Healing or Ragnaros the Lightlord ensure the necessary endurance to survive the fight. It is important to deal with the bone spikes quickly, while in doubt the good old “Equality+Consecration combo” can help. You can watch how the deck is played in this video:

The action MMO Lineage Eternal is and is not finished. Allegedly, it is now supposed to receive a new engine. This takes time. Will the changed gaming market be the downfall of the PC/mobile hybrid?
Lineage Eternal has so far been a tale of sorrow. The hope bearer from NCSoft has proven to be a trouble child from the very beginning.
Actually, the action MMORPG, developed for PC and mobile, should be slowly finished by now:
but that’s not really working out. It has been a long time since anything has been heard from Lineage Eternal. And what we are hearing now sounds dire.
NCSoft dissatisfied with Lineage Eternal – No word from the beta
The developer and publisher NCSoft is dissatisfied with how Lineage Eternal has developed so far. They have replaced the leadership of the development team. They were not satisfied with the closed beta – we reported on it in May. Allegedly, the beta of Lineage Eternal was too grindy and not innovative enough for the Koreans.
Now a Korean site reports that the changes to Lineage Eternal are even more profound. Allegedly, NCSoft has replaced the engine of Lineage Eternal.
Lineage Eternal – maybe only mobile?
NCSoft has switched from the “in-house engine,” which is also used in Guild Wars 2, to the Unreal Engine 4. But this is not official yet. The information comes from “industry sources,” a Korean site reports on it.
Allegedly, these sources said that the engine switch is primarily about a graphics upgrade. However, it is also necessary to consider publishing Lineage Eternal as a mobile game if the market or development course changes accordingly.
The Korean source also stated that allegedly a new “release plan” for Lineage Eternal was supposed to be announced during the investor call. However, nothing came of it. Lineage Eternal was not mentioned much during the investor call.
These are thus only “rumors” from sources who wish to remain anonymous. However, they do seem plausible. Should they prove true, it seems NCSoft still does not know where it wants to go with Lineage Eternal.
However, one can probably expect that the “worldwide beta” planned for 2017 is on hold for now. We in the West will likely have to wait longer for it. If NCSoft has really swapped the engine, the release is considerably delayed.
Lineage Eternal: The landscape has changed: Is the mobile boom causing problems?
Lineage Eternal was actually supposed to lead the illustrious Lineage franchise into the future. The game was supposed to be a action MMO that bridges PC and mobile. This is symbolic for NCSoft. The Korean giant has its roots in the PC MMORPGs Lineage, Aion, and Blade & Soul.
But NCSoft recognizes the signs of the times and increasingly relies on mobile: By now, they have a mobile game on the market or in development for each MMORPG franchise.
Lineage Eternal was supposed to be the compromise between PC and mobile, between old and new. That was the plan a few years ago when they conceived Lineage Eternal. But the times in Korea are changing faster than apparently planned.
The second game “Lineage M” is the glimmer of hope in summer 2017 for NCSoft, after the PC games declined. It is a hit in Korea and has made 100 billion won in 12 days – about 74 million euros.
Lineage Eternal, which two years ago was seen as the game on which NCSoft’s future depends, seems to be less critical in this new climate.
The Hearthstone streamer Kripparrian just can’t get rid of Arthas. The Lich King is back again, as he wanted to get a golden card through clever disenchantment.
Even Batman knew, “on some days, you just can’t get rid of a bomb” – and the same obviously applies to Lich Kings in Hearthstone.
While most players are just opening their first packs of the new expansion “Knights of the Frozen Throne”, the pros have already completed their collection. This was also the case for Arena pro Kripparrian, who is currently streaming more frequently and enjoying the new Hearthstone expansion.
During his stream, a funny incident occurred. He disenchanting the card “Lich King” to increase his chance of getting a golden Arthas.

But there are simply days when you just can’t get rid of a Lich King. See for yourself what happens just a few seconds after the disenchantment:
Kripparrian has a special goal with the disenchantment. He wants to pull the golden Lich King from a card pack and not have to craft it himself. Therefore, he has previously received or crafted all other legendary cards with Arcane Dust – only the Lich King was missing. Now, whenever he gets a legendary card, it is guaranteed to be the Lich King, which also means there’s a chance that this card is directly golden. So Kripp hoped to save a bit of Arcane Dust.
Kripparrian can only afford this approach because he has more than 264,000 Arcane Dust after disenchanting what is probably the largest Hearthstone collection in the world some time ago.
And what do we learn from this clip? The same thing Bolvar taught us in World of Warcraft: There must always be a Lich King.
What legendary cards have you already received from the new expansion?
Since August 8, Cliff Bleszinski’s hero shooter LawBreakers has been in the virtual game shelves, and our guest author Dennis has treated himself to a trip into the action-packed world. He says: The game runs surprisingly dynamically and smoothly.
Some of you have surely heard of “Cliff Bleszinski”. For those who don’t know him: He is the mind behind the popular “Gears of War” series.
Now he is trying his hand at a new genre, the increasingly popular hero shooter. I am currently playing many representatives of this genre like Paladins or Overwatch. Eagerly, I welcomed LawBreakers to my Steam library and promptly started my first rounds.
In my first minutes of gameplay, I had to realize, how dynamic and smooth the gameplay feels. Everything runs smoothly and seamlessly. The wild jumping in the “Low Gravity” zones is also fun.
LawBreakers Classes – A lot of Variety
In LawBreakers, you have a lot of variety with classes. There are two factions: On one side, the Law’s – the law enforcers. And on the other side, the Breakers. Those who break the law.
Each faction has 9 different classes that bring their own playstyle.
For beginners, I would recommend the Veteran. He plays solidly and mows down enemies with the assault rifle.
If you want to quickly take out opponents from ambush, you should check out the Assassin, who is equipped with swords and moves around with his electric whip. However, this class is a bit tricky and requires a lot of time to master this playstyle.
Tanks are a must; here you can take a closer look at the Executor, who is a valuable addition to any team with his shotgun and extra armor.
For the extra dose of healing, there’s the Medic, who supports your teammates but can also deal a lot of damage.
Also cool: Each class has its own tutorial for learning about the characters and their abilities. My favorite among the classes at the moment is the Titan. He is equipped with a rocket launcher and annihilates enemy soldiers. If you want to compare Lawbreakers with Overwatch, the Titan would be roughly analogous to Pharah from Blizzard’s hero shooter.
You can personalize your characters over time and customize them with skins for weapons and armor. You can also adjust the impressions of your feet as desired. You receive skins and stickers from the depot crates, which you get after each level-up and can open. This way, you design your own characters with different designs and stand out from the crowd.
LawBreakers Gameplay
LawBreakers plays comfortably and precisely. You have to react quite quickly, as the game feels really fast. In addition, there are the “Low-Gravity” zones that make you feel sluggish, but also bring you to unexpected places on the maps.
How often has it happened to me that in these areas I quickly bit the dust because I was usually the ideal target for enemies. For a hero shooter, everything goes much faster in LawBreakers and you have to keep a close eye on the environment, as opponents can come from anywhere and suddenly stand right in front of your nose or ambush you from behind.
What I notice: Amid the stormy battles, it’s often hard to tell which enemy is running around with which class right in front of you. However, I find this point very important, especially for a hero shooter, so you can react to the respective class and ideally counter it. Competitor Overwatch does this much better, as you can immediately recognize which opponent you are dealing with.
Game Modes in LawBreakers
Currently, there are 5 different modes available. It’s not yet clear if more will come, but it takes quite some time to internalize these.
First up is the Capture mode, where you must take and hold a specific point on the map to score points. After 45 seconds, the area shifts to another spot on the map, and the game ends when you reach 200 points.
The second mode is Transfer, in which you and your team fight for control of a transmitter and bring it to your base. Then a transfer begins, and you must protect it. After three successful data transfers, you secure the victory.
The third mode is called Blitzball, where you transport a ball and bring it to the target to score points.
Fourth is Territory Control, which plays similarly to the Capture mode. Here you have not one but three zones to capture.
Last but not least is Overcharge, where you need to bring a battery to your base and charge it. Again, the game ends after three full charges.
At this point, I can say again: There is no shortage of options and variety in the game; there’s something suitable for every taste.
LawBreakers First Impression: Not an Overwatch Clone, Unique Gameplay Feel
I have spent some time with the hero shooter LawBreakers and must say that it is definitely not a clone or spin-off of Overwatch or other genre representatives. It plays very uniquely and provides a whole new gameplay feel with its gravity zones. In my opinion, LawBreakers is a bit harder to master than other games.
So, if you bring a little endurance for learning the game mechanics and want to experience refreshing gameplay, you should give LawBreakers a chance. I will certainly continue training and soon chase down enemies like a contract killer with my Titan.

A new incubator for Pokémon GO has now been found in the code. You can use it to hatch Eggs faster.
In Pokémon GO, there are three different types of Eggs classified into kilometer categories. The categories are 2km, 5km, and 10km. To hatch the Eggs, they are placed in an incubator. Then, the corresponding distance must be covered for Pokémon to hatch from the Eggs.
A new type of incubator has now appeared in the game’s code that can accelerate hatching.
Super Incubator found in Pokémon GO
As reported by PokémonGOHub, a new incubator is likely on its way to you trainers. In the app’s data traffic, hints about the new item, the Super Incubator, have been found.
The code reveals that the incubator has more power than the other incubators, allowing Eggs to hatch quickly. However, the item apparently has only one charge; after that, it breaks. The following text lines were found:
“incubatorsuper.1_title” “Super Incubator” “incubatorsuper.1_description” “A more powerful Egg Incubator helps Eggs hatch quickly. Breaks after one use.” “item_incubator_super_name” “Super Incubator” “item_incubator_super_desc” “A more powerful Egg Incubator helps Eggs hatch quickly. Breaks after one use.”
So far, there are no icons or other graphics for the new item. The item apparently uses the distance multiplier that every other incubator has. Previously, this multiplier was not used and was set to “1x” for the regular incubators.
Perhaps we will get more detailed information about the Super Incubator and when it will be available in the game in the coming weeks or with the next update.
It is still unclear whether the Super Incubator will be a shop item or if you might get the new incubator as a reward in Pokémon GO. Many trainers in the community hope for the latter, as that would be good news for trainers who want to “quickly” hatch a few Eggs.
The upcoming Patch 7.3 for World of Warcraft: Legion brings new gear, new sets, and improved relics for the “big characters” as well as an upgrade for the smaller ones. Through a mission in the Order Hall, you can earn a new heirloom for your twinks.
The Man‘ari Training Amulet joins the existing number of neckpieces. However, it does not restore health when used, unlike the other heirlooms of this slot. Instead, it drains 10% of health and increases movement speed by 40% for 10 seconds.
A warlock doing warm-up exercises. Hopefully, the effect from the heirloom looks just as cool.
What is it good for?
Since it has a five-minute cooldown, it isn’t really useful for movement. However, it is likely intended for the same situations where other heirloom neckpieces are used. When entering a fight that turns out to be fatal, this necklace allows you to quickly escape instead of restoring a portion of your health and dying seconds later.
This can be quite disorienting: beer – um, bears.
However, it also has the additional, pleasant advantage that it can make travel easier. When you need to travel from point A to point B, often there’s a forest or something similar in between. It often happens that a pack of wolves finds it amusing to knock the little low-level character off their mount. The Training Amulet should make this a smaller problem.
And where do you get it?
The neckpiece is available by completing the mission “Attack on the Felfire Armory” at the mission table of the Order. The mission costs 100 resources and will take 16 hours (without bonuses). The required item level for the participating champions is 950.
It is not yet known if the necklace is already upgraded to level 110 when you receive it. However, it can definitely be upgraded, like all other heirlooms.
The curator for heirlooms in Ironforge: Krom Strongarm
If you haven’t dealt with this yet: You can buy tokens from Estelle Gendry in Undercity (for the Horde) and Krom Strongarm in Ironforge (for the Alliance) that upgrade heirlooms from level 100 to level 110. For weapons, these cost 7500 gold, while for armor, shields, off-hand weapons, rings, neckpieces, and trinkets, the cost is 5000.
What do you think, does the neckpiece have any use for twinking? Does it perhaps fill a niche? Or is it, like all heirloom neckpieces, “just there”? Let us know in the comments.
After Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno and Lugia, there are likely more legendary raids planned for Pokémon GO. A newsletter provides appropriate hints.
In the past weeks, you could get to know the first legendary Pokémon of the game in Pokémon GO. So far, Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, and Lugia have made their appearances in the augmented reality game. However, this is apparently not the end yet. In the future, more “legendary adventures” will be activated, which will likely provide more entertainment. Hints towards this come from a newsletter from the Pokémon GO team.
New legendary Pokémon in Pokémon GO?
On Friday morning, newsletters for Pokémon GO were sent out, mentioning among other things, the Pikachu outbreak in Japan. During the event, trainers can find many monsters in two different theme parks. Additionally, trainers discovered shiny variants of Pikachu.
Additionally, the Pokémon GO team described the Chester Festival in the UK in the newsletter and reported on legendary adventures of the Pokémon trainers worldwide. In a separate paragraph, the team described the current legendary event and expressed hope for the future.
The following lines can be found in the email:
Lugia, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos have been sighted in Pokémon GO! Have you already fought against one of these Legendary Pokémon? From August 7 to 14, Zapdos, the Legendary Pokémon of Team Instinct, will appear in raid battles. Team up with other trainers and choose your Pokémon wisely when you face this extremely powerful and rare Legendary Pokémon. Good luck, trainers, and get ready for more legendary adventures!
The newsletter was issued after Zapdos had already been released. It probably was not meant to be a reference to the thunderbird. It is unclear whether the team is suggesting that you can still “further” catch the already existing legendary Pokémon or if indeed new raids will be activated in Pokémon GO soon.
In Fortnite (PC, PS4, Xbox One), there is an answer to the question of why it is already available for €40 in stores when the game is still in Early Access. We Europeans are to blame.
We have reported more than once on the somewhat confusing sales model of Fortnite:
Fortnite is technically Free-to-Play, but it is still in a sort of “Closed Beta,” for which access can be purchased through Early Access.
The confusing part: The Early Access version is sold as “Retail,” i.e., in stores. This makes it look like a regular game on the shelf or like this: a boxed game from the online retailer Amazon.
Now there is a statement regarding this. The Creative Director Darren Sugg explains why they are doing this.
European market still prefers boxed versions
He says: They received numbers from Sony that two-thirds of all Europeans still only buy games “physically,” i.e., in stores in a package. They do not buy digital games through the PlayStation or Xbox Store or through Steam.
Suggs states: “If we want these people to be able to participate in our Early Access and if we want to be fair to everyone, then we had to bring Fortnite to stores. Only in this way can we allow these people to participate in our testing.”
Here there are differences between North America and European countries and Russia. Since they want to be fair to everyone and treat everyone like a “first-class citizen,” they decided on this distribution model and brought Early Access to stores. Many observers find this strange, but “Other countries, other customs.”
Nevertheless, most Fortnite players now play digitally. Suggs revealed this in an interview with the US site GameInformer.
Fortnite has about 60 hours of quests in Early Access
The current version of Fortnite includes about 60 hours of narrative quests and most core features. However, it is evident that some tutorials are still missing. Player feedback here is: “That’s not so important, we figured that out ourselves, just bring in more features.”
