Lineage 2 Revolution (iOS and Android) already had plenty of content at release. A major patch now brings more of everything and kicks off the 50vs50 siege season
Lineage 2 Revolution has enough content for players to spend several hours in the game every day. But eventually, you’ll reach the maximum level, and after running through all the dungeons and other instances so many times, they start to feel stale.
Fortunately, the developers have already prepared a large update pack that brings tons of new content to the mobile MMO.
More of Everything!
The big update ensures that there are new activities to engage in. Those who have experienced everything in the game can enjoy new challenges again. The update includes, among other things:
A new maximum level of 180
New quests (Daily, Scroll, and Main) for high-level players
A new region called “Giran Empire”
Expansions of the areas Deadly Misty Coast, Devil’s Island, Restless City of the Dead
as well as Ivory Tower Catacombs 1, 2, and 3.

Regular Season for 50vs.50 Fortress Sieges
PvP fans can also look forward to the start of the regular season of fortress sieges. This involves epic battles between two clans. Each clan can deploy 50 players to battle and conquer a fortress in a region.
The battles take place every Friday from 20:30 to 21:00. The winning clan gets to hold the fortress for a week and reap the bonuses.
The little brother of the fortress siege is the “open siege”. In these 30vs30 battles, players can participate as early as level 11 and then get boosted to maximum level. Clan membership is not required. These battles take place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 20:30 to 21:00. Plus, participants receive a “Steam Beetle” as a reward.
Events until February
Until February 7th, there are two new in-game events in Lineage 2: Revolution:
In the “New Region Dice Event“, you earn dice points by completing dungeons and quests. You use the points to roll for valuable rewards like “Maphr’s Protection” and “Enhancement Scrolls”.
In the “Log-in/Attendance Event“, you receive daily rewards when you log into the game. Those who log in for seven consecutive days will receive a “R” grade lacquer box.
The big League of Legends Patch 8.2 removes support items from the game, brings a new Gragas skin, and distributes buffs and nerfs to Ornn, Jinx, and other champions. We show you what changes.
In the new Patch 8.2, a lot will change in League of Legends. Minions will decide more reliably whom to attack. Additionally, some champions who were too strong will be adjusted. Others will receive the necessary power boost to keep up with the rest.

Item Changes
The developers removed the Eye items “Sightstone” and “Ruby Sightstone” in Patch 8.2.
In addition, the support items Frostfang, Nomad’s Medallion, and Targon’s Brace were reworked so that they upgrade to the Eye item upon quest completion, which effectively serves as a replacement for the removed Sightstones.
A few changes to the minions now ensure they have improved threat detection. In the patch notes, the developers explain that targeted damage spells will now attract the minions’ attention toward champions.
As an example, they mention Pantheon’s Q spell or Cassiopeia’s E spell. These spells previously did not interest the minions and did not induce any aggro increase. However, this will change with Patch 8.2.

Last night, a long-awaited battle took place in EVE Online. However, it turned out to be a disappointment. But it wasn’t due to cowardly players, as previously suspected.
Yesterday, we reported on the supposed “1 million dollar” battle that was brewing in EVE Online. The conflict had been building over years, and a war had broken out. People thought: Two massive fleets would face off as the Imperium tried to destroy a Keepstar. That’s a huge space citadel, kind of like a Death Star.
In the lead-up, players thought: Well, with so much at stake for both sides, no one would go all in, and the battle would turn out to be a flop. They were partially right.
Because there was indeed an attack from the Imperium on the citadel. However, it wasn’t the gigantic battle that some had hoped for. Such a battle seems to be hardly possible in EVE at the moment.
A player on reddit explains the problem.
Time Dilation Prevents Epic Battle
The battle took place last night and lasted into the night. In the endover 6000 ships participated in the battle.
The problem is: When so many ships are in one area, a game mechanic in EVE activates called “Time Dilation.” It’s a sort of “intentional lag” – the time slows down for pilots in EVE, and everything takes much longer. 1 second of gameplay turns into 20 seconds of real time. This is meant to give the server a chance to handle all the input.
Death Star Almost Invulnerable Under These Conditions
This has a catch in this specific case: While for players the game speed drops to one-twentieth of the original time, the citadel itself follows different rules. The game mechanics continue in real time for it. It gets repaired again if not enough damage was dealt within a certain timeframe.
To destroy a citadel with the extreme time delay would practically require perfect gameplay under incredibly difficult conditions. This seems almost theoretically possible.
The attackers therefore abandoned the attack after about 6 hours and withdrew. Both sides incurred only relatively minor losses.
Players Struggle with Developer CCP
Currently, a big discussion has erupted that the changes to EVE in recent years have made fantastic space battles impossible. Many players are somewhat disappointed. It is said: We told CCP that all these safety nets are ruining our game, but they haven’t listened to us.
The general consensus is: Defenders of citadels are so favored in the current situation in EVE Online that a battle is pointless.
The English-speaking site PcGamesN learned from CCP that the mechanics actually operate as described here. Whether this will be changed is still unknown in Iceland.
SOS is an upcoming survival battle royale game where players play together and against each other. The famous rapper Snoop Dogg participated, streaming SOS on Twitch and causing quite a stir as he apparently smoked weed. But will he get in trouble with Twitch for that?
In SOS, 16 players must retrieve an artifact from an island overrun by monsters within 30 minutes. In the end, only 3 players can find a place in the rescue helicopter. Therefore, players need to eliminate enough competitors early on while still completing the mission.
An exciting mix of coop and PvP. Furthermore, the game is designed for streaming. Viewers are supposed to have a say in where goodies or traps are placed for the players.
To promote the game further, the developers managed to get the legendary rapper Snoop Dogg for a live stream, alongside well-known streamers. However, he had his own ideas about “gaming”.
Snoop Dogg Smoking on Twitch – Is That Allowed?
During the stream, which had over 80,000 viewers on Twitch, Snoop repeatedly lit a fat joint and casually smoked weed in front of the camera. Smoking is nothing new for Snoop; he is rarely seen without a blunt.

However, some users on Reddit were immediately concerned and wondered if Snoop would get in trouble for it. After all, the streaming platform Twitch is known for banning users for drug use and excessive alcohol consumption in front of the camera.
Legal is Legal
However, the consumption and sale of marijuana has been legal in Snoop’s hometown California since January 1, 2018. And according to Twitch rules, it is okay to consume legal drugs live in the respective location.

This did not sit well with every viewer. On Reddit, some users complained that Snoop seemed to have been bought to promote a game. Furthermore, he did not even try to hide his “fake play”.

For a limited time, every egg you hatch in the game will yield a Pokémon from Generation 3. This change was announced by the Pokémon GO team on Twitter and resulted in positive reactions from trainers. They are excited about the many new Ground and Rock-type Pokémon.

“Hatch now, trainers. For a limited time, every egg you hatch will yield a Pokémon that was originally discovered in the Hoenn region,” the tweet says.
However, consider that only the eggs you receive after the start of this event (i.e., the Twitter announcement) are eligible. Eggs that were already in your inventory or incubator prior do not count. The contents of the eggs are already determined when you get an egg into your inventory.
How long this event lasts is still unclear. Trainers speculate it might end on February 1, since the date aligns well with the special item offering currently in the shop.

In Destiny 2 you can now buy the winning weapon of the faction rally: Loquitor IV. But is it worth it?
The first faction rally in Season 2 has a winner: The New Monarch.
Executor Hideo is now offering all Guardians in the Tower Bazaar his winning weapon, the auto rifle Loquitor IV. Faction members receive the weapon for 1000 Glimmer, while others have to reach deeper into their pockets and pay 50,000 Glimmer.
By the way: The winning weapons from the Future War Cult and from the Dead Orbit remain under wraps until the next team battle.
Many a Guardian may now be wondering: “Is it worth buying Loquitor IV? Is the time well invested if I farm 50,000 Glimmer for it now?”
Loquitor IV – Auto Rifle of the New Monarch
The answer to this question is short: No. Loquitor IV is far from being a top weapon that belongs in every Guardian’s inventory. Why is that?
Loquitor IV is a legendary auto rifle with the perk “Impact Casing.” It has a slow rate of fire and high impact. The weapon belongs to the auto rifle archetype with the lowest rate of fire.
The weapon’s range is excellent, but stability is poor. Here are the stats:
The additional perks:
Impact Reserves:The last rounds of a magazine deal increased damage.
You have a choice between:
Ricochet Rounds:Rounds ricochet off hard surfaces. Increases stability, slightly increases range
Extended Mag:Increases magazine size
Alloy Magazine:Increased reload speed when the magazine is empty.
The sights:
GA Linear: Short zoom, Significantly increases weapon readiness speed, slightly increases range
SD Thermal: Medium zoom, Marks enemy targets, increases range
Loquitor IV has a major disadvantage: the poor stability coupled with a jerky recoil behavior. This makes it nearly impossible to land many hits in a row at medium range. The weapon sways terribly.
Stability is an important stat for auto rifles to bring the hail of bullets on target. However, with Loquitor IV, the bullets just wildly fly around.
Due to the high range, you don’t have to worry much about damage drop-off – the difficulty lies in landing the shots. With Kinetic Stability Mods, you can mitigate this somewhat. Nevertheless, Loquitor IV remains a weapon that is hard to control and certainly not competitive in PvP.
An auto rifle with the same archetype and a 360 rate of fire is the Halfdan-D. This weapon has a greater range and better stability than Loquitor IV, which is why you should prefer the Halfdan-D if you want to try this archetype.
Otherwise, auto rifles with a 450 rate of fire, like Uriel’s Gift, are significantly more popular – and better. While Loquitor IV does good damage if you land multiple shots in a row, this is virtually impossible.
Therefore, the conclusion: If you supported the New Monarch, then you can expand your weapon collection for 1000 Glimmer. But 50,000 Glimmer is way too much for Loquitor IV. It can be purchased until January 30th at 6 PM.
In The Darwin Project (PC, Xbox One) you fight against nature, your fellow players, and a sadistic game master. This makes the battle royale game similar to the bestseller “The Hunger Games.” We played The Darwin Project during the first beta weekends on Steam.
Are you tired of the same old 100-player battle royale deathmatches like PUBG and would you prefer a game that is more oriented towards “The Hunger Games”? Then The Darwin Project might be for you!
Here, 10 players fight in a cruel experiment, which is partly also a TV show, for survival in the icy wasteland. An 11th player can intervene as a game master at any time for even more action!
The big difference to PUBG becomes apparent right from the start. Instead of 100 or more players, only 10 people are on the move. Additionally, we do not all start from an airplane but begin our survival fight at 10 separate locations on a map. The map consists of 7 hexagonal sub-regions.
In The Darwin Project, it starts off calmly.
There is also no epic slaughter immediately after the game starts. No player is initially within reach of another. Instead, in the first few minutes, it’s all about gearing up for the fight and protecting yourself from the cold.
Battle Royale meets Survival
Your avatar starts only with an axe, a bow with four arrows, and prisoner clothing in the wilderness. There are no other weapons. You have to aim carefully with the bow or brutally smash your fellow players in close combat with the axe. Wild shooting with pistols and rifles, like in Fortnite or PUBG, is not found in The Darwin Project.
Nevertheless, you have a variety of equipment in The Darwin Project. However, you mostly have to craft them yourself. Everywhere in the game world, there are small trees or old sofas. From these, you can obtain wood or leather, and then craft various goodies from them.
Crafting is vital for survival!
Among other things, you can craft the following from sufficient wood and/or leather:
New arrows (there are also variants like incendiary arrows)
Campfires to warm up
Warm clothing against the cold
Shoes for more speed
Whetstones for the axe (more damage)
Armor against attacks
Traps like bear traps or tripwires
Regularly, stationary electronic storage locations are activated in the game world. This is somewhat like an air drop from PUBG. The first to arrive on site can obtain an electronic component.
From these, high-tech goodies are created, such as a camouflage field, a teleporter, or a protective shield. Such gadgets are particularly useful in the endgame! Therefore, the electronic storage locations are often fiercely contested death zones!
The icy death!
While you fight for survival in the icy world of The Darwin Project, your avatar is freezing. A display indicates how cold you are. Over time, it steadily decreases. If the display reaches zero, you are dead.
To escape the cold death, you must start a fire and thus refill the cold meter. However, the fires are highly visible. They reveal your position to enemies …
Crafting is vital for survival!
You can protect yourself against the cold with (expensively craftable) warm clothing and slow down the decrease of the cold meter, but eventually, you must warm up. Therefore, it does not help to hide somewhere for a long time and camp. The game clearly rewards daring players who actively explore the world.
Hunters …
Another argument against campers is The Darwin Project’s “tracking system.” You always leave your traces in the world that other players can follow. This starts with the visible footprints you create in the snow. In deep snow, real trails are left behind, which even the last idiot can follow in their sleep.
Footprints! There goes the enemy!
But there are even more usable traces. Every time you harvest a resource, a clue is left behind. If another player finds such a clue, your position and distance are revealed to them for a short time, and you are no longer safe!
In such situations, The Darwin Project has its strongest moments:
Because when you start to pick up the trail, you feel like an all-powerful hunter stalking your helpless prey: like a wolf chasing a rabbit.
But if you are the rabbit and not the wolf, you feel like a poor victim being hunted through the woods by an axe-wielding psychopath!
… and the hunted
However, things can quickly turn around when an overly ambitious hunter falls into a trap set by the “prey.” Or you might end up like me, the clumsiest hunter of all time!
There was only one player left besides me, and I was well-equipped and had picked up the trail. But I was so overtaken by the hunting instinct that I had eyes only for the prey and crashed on the way to it, falling into a pit of lava.
The last player, who was crowned the winner without any effort, laughed heartily via voice chat.
An opponent felled this tree and left a clue behind. Now I can track him down.
The game master – May the games begin!
Through the successful mix of survival, hunting simulator, and shooter, The Darwin Project is already pleasantly different from the battle royale competition. But there is also a new feature: the game master (GM)! This eleventh player does not run through the bush like the others, trying to survive.
Instead, this player is a camera drone, which as the game master can intervene in the gameplay at any time. However, the game master is also subject to rules. You have a total of 11 actions that you can use only once each.
An arsenal of goodies and nastiness
You can, among other things:
Heal players
Warm players
Seal an area of the map (players freeze faster as long as they are inside)
Drop an atomic bomb on an area, instantly killing everyone within after 40 seconds
Activate an additional electronic storage
Reduce gravity in an area
Make a player temporarily invulnerable
Make a player visible to all other players for a certain time. If he survives, he even gets bonuses!
However, the game master cannot execute all of this immediately or at their whim. Instead, you as the GM must first gain action points. You get one every minute. Simple actions cost 2 to 3 points, but if you want to drop the bomb or declare a large hunt, you must first save up 5 points. Therefore, such extreme actions are common only later in the game.
Occasionally, you will find screens where you see the position of all players.
Also funny: Thanks to voice chat, game masters and players can always communicate. And since the GM sees everything, they can give targeted tips. Or mislead players!
A feast for socializers or trolls!
In fact, the game master is the ideal position for helpful philanthropists or mean trolls. A kind GM can make sure that a player about to freeze doesn’t meet an inglorious end. Or heal an injured player again. Of course, a nice GM doesn’t drop bombs or calls for a manhunt.
It looks completely different when a troll is at the wheel. They lure players into doom or ensure that an area gets bombed and the subsequent escape routes are shortly blocked. Then the wildly fleeing players may freeze to death in the blocked zone, and the troll laughs maliciously!
I pulled a particularly nasty action as a GM: I made a well-equipped player the target of the large manhunt. All players rushed to him and wanted to slaughter him. But as soon as they reached him, I briefly made the “victim” invulnerable, healed it to the maximum, and gave it a speed boost. It followed with an epic slaughter of the confident hunters!
Jürgen’s conclusion – A great idea, but will it succeed?
I fell in love with The Darwin Project shortly after starting it. The game already makes a good impression in open beta and runs smoothly. The mixture of survival and battle royale works wonderfully, and the tension when you have just picked up the trail of your victim or are becoming prey is indescribable!
Additionally, the fun game master mode allows for plenty of freedom. I can imagine that this feature can be used quite excitingly through Twitch and at special events. Possibly with the audience voting on what the GM should do.

However, during the beta, I also experienced players and game masters insulting each other in the most obscene ways nonstop. Therefore, most players are likely to turn off the voice chat soon.
Furthermore, I find it a bit disappointing that there are only bows and axes in the game. This doesn’t create much of a shooter feel, but with rifles and grenades, the survival part would probably be lacking. Perhaps the developers will later incorporate special weapons with very limited ammunition.
In The Division, you can now get three free weapon skins in just about 20 minutes. All you have to do is watch Twitch.
A few hours ago, Massive announced: The Twitch Drops are back!
The Twitch Drops were already available at the beginning of December 2017 with the launch of Update 1.8. You had to link your Twitch account with your Ubisoft Club account, then watch a 24-hour live stream from the developers for 20 minutes, and as a reward, you received weapon skins in The Division.
In celebration of the fourth Global Event, which started on January 23rd, this Twitch Drop event is repeating.
What do I need to know about the Twitch Drops?

Players from World of Warcraft did not have to wait long. Soon they will be able to get insulted by NPCs again. The Poke Lines are back, which are phrases from NPCs that can be coaxed out by clicking on them repeatedly.
Just yesterday we reported that World of Warcraft accidentally patched the fun out of the game.
