Bug has been fixed, EX Raid changes have been made
The Pokémon GO team has now commented on this issue.

The MMO shooter Destiny 2 is celebrating an event next week where Bungie will show its generous side. There are not supposed to be any new microtransactions.
In recent years, Bungie has repeatedly held events in Destiny that lasted a week or a few weeks, decorated the Tower festively, and introduced new items.
Originally, the Guardians thought that these events should bring variety to the game and provide new goals. However, it soon became clear that these offered hardly any new reasons to play more, but primarily created new opportunities to pay more.
Especially in the fall of 2016, the mood changed when the Festival of the Lost degraded into “Festival of Microtransactions”. Bungie released a promotional trailer for real-money use in advance, which was not well received in the community at all. They advertised that you could buy cool stuff in the Eververse – that was all there was to the trailer:

In Destiny 2, the Dawning event took place between the years, during which Guardians also had to reach into their wallets if they wanted to obtain all the new Dawning items. A winter wonderland of microtransactions!
A major point of criticism about the Dawning was that you couldn’t even get to the Dawning Engrams with experience points. You only received the standard gloss engrams through XP, which did not yield new items.
In short: The time-limited events no longer create a festive atmosphere, as they revolve solely around microtransactions. The criticism is significant. If Bungie wants to lure players back to the game with such events, they need to change something. And they are doing that now.
The Crimson Week introduces several new – and better – things
Recently, the developers announced the Crimson Week that will take place in Destiny 2 starting February 13. And during this event, Bungie is acting unusually generous: All new items can only be obtained through gameplay. No Crimson Engrams can be bought with real money!
What makes the Crimson Week different from the previous “Festivals of Microtransactions”?
The majority of Crimson items are contained in Crimson Engrams. These engravings can not be acquired via microtransactions in the Eververse. The top post in the Destiny reddit is currently highlighting this with praise.
You can obtain the Crimson Engrams through the new 2v2 PvP playlist or by collecting enough XP. Bungie was thus able to respond to this point of criticism from the Dawning event.
The engravings are not limited. You can earn as many Crimson Engrams as you want.
The rewards from the Crimson Engrams have a “Knock-Out List” mechanic. This means the engravings will only provide duplicates once you possess all the new gear. If you play enough, you are guaranteed to obtain all the new items from the engravings.
Additionally, you can earn 5 more exclusive rewards by achieving specific goals.
In the Eververse, you can only buy available Crimson items directly for glimmer.
The Guardians are responding to the Crimson Week in Destiny 2 with mixed feelings. It is definitely a step in the right direction that everything can be earned and players are not being aggressively asked to pay. Many are also glad that a new mode is finally being introduced in the Crucible with 2v2.
However, there is also criticism regarding what can be earned. The rewards are said to be boring, everything is just cosmetic stuff with a new coat of paint. Additionally, some accuse Bungie of recycling old content again – as they are introducing a new version of the old Destiny 1 map “The Burning Shrine”.

Snail Games has announced the release date of the multiplayer VR game Ark Park (PSVR, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift), in which you visit an amusement park full of dinos.
On March 22, the gates of Ark Park will open. This is an amusement park inspired by the survival game Ark: Survival Evolved, where dinosaurs live. With a virtual reality headset like HTC Vive, PSVR or Oculus Rift, you will experience the creatures up close. However, just like in Jurassic Park, something is bound to go wrong..
Story or Exploration?
Ark Park offers you several game modes. Among them is a story mode where you also fight against the dinosaurs. Or you can simply explore the park as you like.
Exploration Mode
Either alone or with friends, you explore tropical rainforests, icy mountains, and vast plains where you encounter dinosaurs.
You collect “gene cubes”, which you obtain by exploring the area and solving puzzles. With the cubes, you unlock blueprints that you need to craft tools, items, and weapons.
You can hatch dinosaur eggs. Afterwards, you take care of the dinosaurs, nurture them, and ensure they grow. Later, it is possible to ride them.
Story Mode
The “Brainwave Device”, which keeps the dinosaurs under control, has malfunctioned. Consequently, the dinosaurs run amok.
You need to defend the base together with your friends by crafting your own weapons.

Release Date Set

In Anthem, there are indications and evidence that you will not only play in third-person, but also in first-person.
Anthem is a third-person shooter. This was clearly communicated during the reveal at E3 2017 and underscored with gameplay footage. Third-person means that the camera is positioned behind the playable character, allowing you to see them from behind and look over their shoulder. Another well-known shared-world shooter played in third-person is The Division.

The site Comicbook.com has now made an interesting discovery, which fuels speculation that you will play in Anthem not only in third-person, but also in first-person perspective: In a job listing, BioWare Austin is looking for a gameplay designer with “experience with gameplay mechanics in first or third-person shooters.”

Leading the development of Anthem is actually BioWare Edmonton. However, BioWare is currently reallocating most of its resources to Anthem, which is why BioWare Austin is also working on the MMO shooter. The job listing from BioWare Austin explicitly seeks a “Principal Gameplay Designer for Anthem”.
Some speculate that the mention of “first-person shooter” in the requirements could indicate that Anthem will feature an alternative first-person mode where you play in the first-person perspective. Perhaps you can switch freely between 1st and 3rd person – or?
However, this is probably just wishful thinking from some fans, even though BioWare has not yet made an official statement on the matter.

Last year, game director Jonathan Warner confirmed via Twitter that Anthem switches to first-person view once the player enters a hub. “Outside” in the open world, where the action takes place, it is played in third-person.
Interestingly: In Destiny 2, it’s exactly the opposite. In combat zones, it is (mostly) played in first-person, while in social spaces, the camera switches to third-person perspective.

The Dark Iron Dwarves joined the Alliance in the aftermath of the Cataclysm and have since been part of the “Council of Three Hammers,” which rules over Ironforge. In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4 & Xbox One) will have the servers offline for a while on February 8, 2018. This is not a disruption. According to Epic’s official Twitter, the server maintenance is due to the deployment of Update 2.4.2. It features a Valentine’s Day event and a special crossbow.
The servers of Fortnite: Battle Royale are currently down. It is time for another update, and nothing works while it is being deployed: the servers are down.
Update 2.4.2 will deactivate matchmaking for Fortnite: Battle Royale starting at 10:25 our time.
The actual downtime will begin at 10:50 our time. From then on, the servers will be offline.
How long the Fortnite servers will be down is currently unknown.

Update 2.4.2 – Valentine’s Skins and Infinite Crossbow
Update 2.4.2 for Fortnite brings a Valentine’s event among other things. It includes unique skins, including a marble Cupid and a shabby pink bear. You can also embody Cupid in typical Fortnite fashion: with a crossbow that has infinite ammunition!
Ready to feel the love? Downtime for Patch V.2.4.2 will begin on February 8 at 4:50AM ET(0950 GMT). Matchmaking for Battle Royale will be disabled at 4:25AM ET(0925 GMT).

The situation around bots in the space MMORPG EVE Online seems to be escalating. The developers have now stated that they will definitely take action against the problem. They are declaring war on the bots with strong words.
Players of EVE Online are slowly losing their enjoyment, as bots are ruining the economy and even influencing the power structures in the galaxy. Those who play honestly and work hard for everything feel cheated. The developers at CCP Games are also aware of this, having previously announced plans to take action against bots.
A threat against the bots
Therefore, developer “CCP Peligro” has now issued a threat against all bots. Whether you take action client-side or otherwise, they will deal with the bots. There was a meeting where this urgent issue was discussed, and they unanimously decided to take strong action against those using bots.
However, players are showing skepticism. Botting has been a significant problem for over a decade that is now spiraling out of control, and only now is it being taken seriously by CCP Games. The developer studio explains that they wanted to make it clear with this statement that they hear the criticism and that they will take action. But players do not have to believe the team; they will see for themselves when the measures go online.
A new update is coming
When this will happen is currently still unclear. However, it is unlikely to be in the next update, which will be released on February 13. This is expected to bring the following:

A few days ago, a leak regarding Red Dead Redemption 2 surfaced. It stated that the western shooter aims to include a battle royale mode. There is also a similar mode in Grand Theft Auto V called Motor Wars, which puts vehicles more in the spotlight than the market leaders.

Derivatives never as successful as the original
In an earnings call, CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, commented on the current battle royale phenomenon. Zelnick made it clear that they acknowledged this success, but they have doubts whether future derivatives of this game concept will be as successful.
Even if variations are well-made, they never work as well as the original because that was an unexpected innovation, the CEO said.
Zelnick returns to Red Dead Redemption. Back in 2010, western video games were generally thought to be dead. Rockstar took a high creative risk in developing such a game. Nevertheless, they achieved significant success with the unusual title.
Ultimately, we do what the players want
Furthermore, it is hard to motivate employees at Rockstar and 2K to simply create a variant of an existing game. After all, they see themselves as a place where highly creative people can work safely.
Nonetheless, Zelnick does not rule out that they will release a battle royale game. Ultimately, it is their job to listen to the players’ wishes and give them what they want.
