In many games, a vibrant world is important. Therefore, the environment in Squadron 42, the single-player campaign of the MMO Star Citizen, is designed to offer a lively game world.
The single-player campaign Squadron 42 places a strong emphasis on telling a thrilling and dense story. And you experience this in an environment that is intended to be as believable as possible. This also includes daily life aboard the Idris-class warship where you are stationed.
Life on a gigantic ship
The game offers you not only missions where you engage in intense space battles in your fighter or explore abandoned space stations or planets. In between, you also “live” on the large warship. And here you encounter many NPCs that make the environment feel “alive”:
NPCs follow a daily routine
If an NPC gets hungry, they go to the mess hall to eat
Each NPC has their own job that they perform on board
If crew members are tired, they lay down in their beds
NPCs react to events: If there is, for example, an explosion and a fire, then NPCs will rush to help with fire extinguishers
AI recognizes what interests you
The game’s AI reacts to the player. It is programmed to always check what you are currently looking at. Then a timer counts down. If you are still looking at the object or NPC once the time is up, something interesting will happen. The NPC might speak to you, a door might open, etc. This is designed to make it always interesting for the player to walk through the spaceship, making you feel as if you are truly aboard a “living” ship.
These details have now been presented in a new video by Star Citizen:

Do you know how high the chance for a Skin Shard and how low the chance for Emotes from Hextech Chests in League of Legends (LoL) are?
The developers at Riot Games are now revealing what the drop rates for loot box content in League of Legends look like. In a post from the League of Legends support, the chances for the various rewards of Hextech Crafting have now been disclosed.
Hextech Crafting – The Chances
The reward system of League of Legends, Hextech Crafting, rewards players for good matches with chests. These must be opened with keys, which can also be earned. Randomly, key fragments are distributed at the end of a won game – playing in groups increases the chance of getting a fragment. Three fragments combined yield a key to open a chest.
Through sportsmanship and good behavior, you can also earn fragments.
In the chests, there are various rewards: from Skin Shards, which can be transformed into permanent skins with in-game currency, to Gemstones, which can be crafted into additional chests. The Gemstones can also be saved for particularly rare skins.
According to Riot’s explanation, the value of a skin has nothing to do with how often it drops. A legendary and thus particularly valuable skin could drop as frequently as a “normal” skin.
There are about 800 skins in League of Legends that can drop from chests. This means there is a 1:8 drop chance (0.125%) for each individual skin. Exceptions are skins like Hextech-Annie, which are exclusive to the Hextech system. The chance for such a skin to drop is 1:2500.
Chances of Hextech Chests – How high are the chances for the contents?
Skin Shard – 50%
Champion Shard – 25%
Permanent Emote – 10%
Ward Skin + 150 Orange Essence – 11.5%
Summoner Icon + 150 Orange Essence – 3.5%
BONUS
Gemstone – 3.6%
Bonus Chest + Key – 10%
In Patch 8.7 of League of Legends, Masterwork Chests are released. These are exclusively for cosmetic items. The chests can only be purchased in the in-game shop.
Chances of Masterwork Chests – How high are the chances for the contents?
Skin Shard – 70%
525 Orange Essence – 10%
Permanent Emote – 10%
Ward Skin + 150 Orange Essence – 10%
BONUS
Gemstone – 3.6%
Bonus Chest + Key – 10%

Season 13 in Diablo 3 starts today and invites players to once again test their strength against others.
On Friday, many players will dive into a new chapter of Diablo 3. The 13th Season begins, where all participants start under the same conditions and create a fresh character.
We summarize the key information about Season 13 here.
Season 13 – Start and End in Diablo 3
Season 13 of Diablo 3 begins on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 5:00 PM German time.
In the past, seasons often started on Thursdays to address any issues with new patches before the weekend.
When does Season 13 end? A season in Diablo 3 usually lasts about three months. So expect the end of this season around May 23.
Season 13 – Best Builds and Classes
Do you want to really make a mark in Season 13 of Diablo 3 and compete with others on the leaderboards? We have looked closely and put together a tier list for Season 13.
There we show you the top 3 builds for each class in the game that will dominate the Greater Rifts. This time, the Crusader is at the forefront. Find out with which set he competes against the Pestilence Necromancer and Firebird Wizard in our Diablo 3 Season 13 Tier List
Quick to Level 70 – Speed Leveling
Now that you might have an idea of which class you want to play through the tier list, leveling in Diablo 3 can take a long time and demand a lot of time. Some players already face their first challenge here: getting to Level 70 as quickly as possible.
For this purpose, we have a speed leveling guide for you. We show you why massacre bonuses are important and why challenge rifts can be beneficial. Diablo 3 Speed Leveling Guide for Season 13
Haedrig’s Gift in Season 13 – What Demon Hunters and Co. Receive
For a good start in the new season, Blizzard, as usual, gifts you starter sets. Depending on which class you open Haedrig’s gifts with, you will receive parts of the following sets:
So if you’re still unsure which class to start with in the new season, you can use these gift sets as guidance.
Cosmetic rewards like special portrait frames can also be found in Season 13. This includes a cute, bloodied teddy bear that wants to become your friend.
Season Journey in Season 13 of Diablo 3
If you play the season journey in Diablo 3 and achieve the “Conqueror” title, you earn additional loot chest slots. In total, there are four loot chest slots that you can unlock this way. In Season 13, you must complete the following tasks to activate another slot:
Complete a Nephalem Rift on Torment 13 in less than 5 minutes
Complete a Greater Nephalem Rift level 60, but in solo play, without help from other players
Kill the “Greed” enemy on Torment 13
Kill the “Cydaea” enemy in less than 15 seconds on Torment 13
Transmute a legendary or set item
Upgrade an ancient item with a legendary gem level 50 or higher
In Warframe the “Beam Weapons” are getting updated soon. They will be returned to the way they were originally intended.
Warframe is currently undergoing some significant changes. A number of notoriously overpowered or underpowered Warframe classes have been adjusted. Additionally, dozens of firearms have been thoroughly reworked and reclassified into ranks.
However, the beam weapons were lacking until now. That is about to change.
Beam Weapons are getting nostalgic
Beam weapons were once true killers in Warframe. On one hand, they were hitscan weapons. This means that the shooter only needs to have the target in the crosshairs. As soon as he pulls the trigger, the target is hit as long as it is aimed at. There is no recoil or deviation.
In addition, there was an extraordinarily high chance of triggering status effects such as “Burn” or “Radiation Damage”. This was calculated based on the fire frequency. So if a weapon had a frequency of 12, it would check if an effect occurs 12 times per second.
However, this cost a lot of system resources, and so the developers changed the weapons so that, among other things, they only checked for a chance of a status effect once per second.
New power for Amprex, Ignis, and Co.
Since the beginnings of Warframe, a lot has changed in terms of performance. Therefore, the developers feel ready to bring the beam weapons back into the game as they were originally planned.
Since a weapon that can trigger a status effect several times per second and always hits is quite powerful, some limitations have been implemented:
The range is generally low. This is especially a significant disadvantage in the expansive Plains of Eidolon.
The weapon starts with only 10 percent of its damage and only reaches the full 100 percent damage output after 0.8 seconds of firing
After a second of firing pause, the damage falls back to 10 percent.
To avoid wasting ammunition, beam weapons only consume 0.5 ammunition units per hitscan check. This corresponds to the fire rate. A weapon with a rate of 12 will therefore use 6 ammunition units per second.
More adjustments in the next patch
To adapt the beam weapons to the new weapon system in Warframe, they will also be reclassified and possibly modified. Overall, they will be significantly stronger and feel different than before. This pleases the community!
Additionally, there are other new features, including:
More Endo rewards for daily Simaris tasks
Charged skills no longer trigger automatically when fully charged, but when you release the button
No more Kavat buffs for the Operator
You can find the complete patch notes of the update in the Warframe forum.
The patch is initially set to be released for PC and ideally go online later this week.
Trainers, get ready. For a short time, you can battle Kyogre and Groudon again in Pokémon GO. They join Rayquaza.
In the coming days, you are supposed to prove in Pokémon GO that you can take on three legendary Pokémon. Groudon and Kyogre are now returning to the game alongside Rayquaza, completing the legendary trio. Additionally, there will be a special egg event depending on the defeated raid bosses. To ensure you can participate in enough battles, the developers are also bringing special offers to the Pokémon GO shop.
Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza simultaneously in Pokémon GO
If you couldn’t take advantage of the last chances to catch Groudon or Kyogre, you will again have the opportunity in the coming days. They are now distributed with Rayquaza to the arenas of the world and form legendary raids.
You have until March 5th to defeat these Pokémon. All three will appear in Pokémon GO until then. It is not quite clear whether Kyogre and Groudon are already back or if they will return to the game later in the day (possibly around 10 PM). We are currently reviewing community feedback. Since they all have different strengths and weaknesses, you should take a look at our guides before entering the battles.
The developers will keep an eye on which bosses are defeated the most.
If Rayquaza is defeated more often than Groudon and Kyogre combined, Pokémon that prefer windy weather will hatch from eggs more frequently between March 5th and March 16th. For example, Swablu.
If Rayquaza is not defeated as often as Groudon and Kyogre combined, Pokémon that prefer sunny or rainy weather will hatch more frequently in the mentioned period. For example, Seedot or Lotad.

New Boxes in the Pokémon GO Shop
Starting February 24th, new special boxes will be available in the Pokémon GO shop. These are supposed to include, for example, raid passes. Niantic has not yet revealed more details about the boxes.
Well, that was surprising. Without announcement, Crytek has launched the early access phase of the online shooter Hunt: Showdown.
Do you want to know what Crytek has to add to the online shooter genre? Then Hunt: Showdown is now available as an early access game on Steam. For 29.99 euros, you can purchase access and start playing right away. In Hunt, you go hunting monsters – and other players.
In 1889, somewhere in Louisiana, dark creatures are roaming. In teams, you set out to hunt these beings, and you may also get into conflicts with each other.
Improve your Hunter
Played in groups of a total of ten players in a “campaign” that guides you through four missions. Hunt can also be played as a single-player title. You can even upgrade your character:
You can improve your “Hunter” through a regular level-up, which gives you more health points and new skills. However, these are lost if the character dies.
Through the “Bloodline” progression system, you will gain new abilities, equipment and you can unlock new characters, as well as obtain in-game currency.
Based on Bloodline Prestige, it is possible to reset your Bloodline after rank 100.
Your progress is recorded based on a leaderboard, through which you compete with other players.
There is still a lot to do
The developers explain that they want to gradually expand the game with new monsters, new weapons, more hunters, more game modes, crafting, and additional maps. In addition, the team responds to player feedback to fix bugs, make optimizations, and implement new features that players want. All of this will take time.
The reviews on Steam are currently mixed. Often, the long loading times are criticized, and the developers still need to significantly improve performance. Furthermore, there are still issues with the servers. Many players praise the gameplay, however.
Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4 & Xbox One) doesn’t take itself very seriously and features increasingly silly and outrageous skins and outfits. Are the developers starting to go overboard? We want to hear your opinion!
When Fortnite: Battle Royale launched in mid-2017, it had the colorful comic graphics of the PvE version, but the playable avatars were all quite subtle. There were various types of soldiers and looters. They looked like they came out of a Pixar film, but otherwise were still grounded.
But then Battle Royale became extremely successful and the developers at Epic pulled out the paint cans!
Epic Goes Colorful! Borderlands Meets WildStar and Pixar!
Especially during special events, the developers released outrageous, colorful skins that stood out from the usual “soldier in X-variations” pattern. It all started with zombie and skeleton skins for Halloween.
For Christmas, there were avatars with reindeer antlers, as Christmas elves, gingerbread men, or nutcrackers. From the last Battle Pass, you could unlock various knight skins. The new Battle Pass for Season 3 is even more colorful: Featuring astronauts, unicorns, and colorful flame trails during free fall!
One of the highlights of absurdity was reached with the Valentine’s Day offer of skins. The “Chief Cuddle Officer” is a ragged pink teddy bear and the “Love Ranger” a living statue with purple pants. There’s also a pickaxe with hearts and an oversized teddy bear as a glider “Bear-Force-One”.
In the Battle Pass of Season 3, among other things, there was also a pickaxe in the form of a unicorn, even crazier dances, and emojis in the shape of unicorns and poop.
All of this now looks as if Pixar had developed its own version of Borderlands or WildStar.
“This is a bit too colorful for me!”
For some players, this is slowly becoming too colorful. In forums and also here at Mein-MMO, some fans complain that Epic is slowly overdoing it with the crazy designs. One can no longer take the game seriously when killed by a Christmas elf or a goofy plush teddy bear with a shotgun.
Other players, however, celebrate this colorful variety and can’t get enough of the new skins. The outrageous style of Fortnite would be one of the main advantages along with the fluid arcade-fun gameplay.
Me, Jürgen, have loved the wacky comic look since Borderlands and WildStar. Therefore, Fortnite has opened doors for me. I also regularly find myself investing large sums into the wildest skins. My colleagues in the editorial team think similarly:
Robert: “I think the colorful skins and the graphic style are what make the charm of the game. It doesn’t take itself too seriously. This is a delightful contrast to PUBG, which comes across as a serious military simulation.”
Leya: “I think it’s great that Fortnite stands out from other battle royale games and isn’t so serious. The flashy graphic style is also a nice, strong contrast.”
Echo Mirage: “I think it’s cool when developers dare to put quirky clothes in their games. There are more than enough gray-brown (often military) shooters or realistically styled games on the market that all take themselves very seriously. The crazier outfits may seem out of place at first glance, but I think they still fit with the fundamental character design of Fortnite.”
What do you think about the style of Fortnite: Battle Royale?
But enough about us. What do you think about the graphics and style of Fortnite? Has it always been too colorful? Have the developers slowly gone overboard? Do you like it just as it is now? Or should it be even more colorful and crazier? Let us know in our survey.
In The Division, a new event is now live that offers double rewards.
This weekend, you have the opportunity to receive double supply performance containers in a new “special event”. These have a low chance of dropping Exotics and Classified gear, so take advantage of it.
When and how long does the event run?
Start: The event started on February 23 at 1 AM
End: The event ends on February 26 at 1 AM
So you have the entire weekend to grab double containers.
What are supply performance containers?
After reaching the maximum level 30, you will continue to earn experience points. Instead of a level, you will receive a supply performance container as a reward.
The event will now grant you an additional container each time.
What’s inside a container? Each one contains two gear pieces, such as weapons, mods, high-end gear, regular gear sets, and Phoenix Credits. You also have a low chance of obtaining key fragments and a bonus in the form of a third gear piece. This can be an Exotic or a Classified item as well.
Where can you get supply performance containers?
You need to collect experience points for supply performance containers, which you can earn by
defeating enemies in the open world,
playing missions,
eliminating high-value targets,
mastering incursions
or playing the resistance mode.
The Dark Zone, the Underground, Survival, and PvP modes do not benefit from the event.
Tip: You can increase the experience points you earn. Gear pieces like knee pads or purple mods with bonuses for kill XP will give you a significant boost if you want to farm containers.
Surprisingly, the Sea of Thieves team has now announced another stress test. This is how you can participate in this beta.
This weekend, you can once again set sail in Sea of Thieves. Whether alone or with friends – a cheerful pirate adventure with gold coins and cannons is possible again in the coming days.
Please remember that this is once again a stress test. Such tests serve to push servers to their limits and collect important data. Therefore, there will be connectivity issues and disconnections.
Sea of Thieves: Beta Registration
Last weekend, starting February 16, the first scale test of Sea of Thieves already took place. Surprisingly, the developers have now stated that the second scale test is playable this weekend. And that basically starts right now.
From now on, you can participate in the Sea of Thieves stress test until Sunday, February 25, at 11:00 AM.
The good thing is: Anyone can participate. You just need to register in the Xbox Insider Hub. This software can be found by Windows 10 users and Xbox One users in the store.
Once you’ve downloaded the software on the respective platform, you can register there for the stress test and then download the game. Additionally, pre-orderers have access to the stress test.
During the last scale test, there were delays after registration in the Insider Hub. We hope it goes smoothly this time.
During such a stress test, problems sometimes occur. This is intentional, as the developers need to collect important data from the servers. Sometimes all players’ connections are interrupted to simulate what happens during a failure and how the login servers respond to that.
Sessions may be interrupted
At certain times, Sea of Thieves may not start
Issues with shops in the game
The stress test also only offers a small preview of what will be found in the full release of Sea of Thieves later. Some features may be intentionally not tested yet.
What is Sea of Thieves About?
In Sea of Thieves, you can expect fun and exciting pirate adventures. You are with other players in a session. As pirates, you try to find treasures. There are treasure maps or puzzles that lead you to the various islands found in the vast sea of the game.
The trips to the islands are especially fun as a group. Assign your crew, as someone has to adjust the sail while other members read the map in the captain’s cabin or stand at the helm on deck, steering the ship in the right direction.
On the way there, you might encounter other pirates who want to steal your treasures. Fortunately, the ships are equipped with cannons so you can defend yourself against other players. Once you recover the treasure and bring it back to your home port, a reward awaits you.

Before the update along with the changes can be deployed, two maintenance sessions are necessary. Here are the preliminary time indications:
Maintenance on Monday, February 26
This is a backend maintenance. Bungie is working behind the scenes on the servers to prepare for 1.1.3. There is no downtime planned.
However, between 7 PM and 9 PM, there may be server issues. Maintenance will take place during this time. Disconnections are possible.
Maintenance on Tuesday, February 27
During the maintenance on Tuesday, the servers will go offline. Additionally, update 1.1.3 will be deployed.
At 5 PM our time, preparations will begin. You will not be able to log in.
At 6 PM the servers will shut down. If you are still in the game now, you will be roughly kicked. From now on, update 1.1.3 should be available for download.
At 7 PM the servers should be back online. The maintenance is therefore relatively short. However, bear in mind that Bungie never strictly adheres to these time indications.
What changes with update 1.1.3?
The main new features of update 1.1.3 are already known. Additionally, Bungie has now shared a few bug fixes that will be addressed simultaneously.
They are inevitable and always come at the most inconvenient moment: maintenance work for online games. Today, we want to know from you what you do during that time.
It’s known: Joyfully, you click on your favorite game, mentally diving into the next quest and are about to log in when – ZONK! Maintenance work with a grim face blocks your virtual door. What to do?
Unexpectedly Often
Most maintenance work is announced in advance and some are even carried out regularly, so you really shouldn’t be surprised. But Christmas always comes out of nowhere! Who could have guessed that!? Right: No one.
But the freed time is there. The question now is, what do you do with it? Do you just shrug it off and log into another game? Do you contact the next community manager or a phone counseling service with foam at the mouth? Do you leisurely read the patch notes if an update is the reason for the maintenance?
Guddy says: For me, maintenance work always comes, fundamentally and exclusively, at the most inconvenient moments.
I finally managed to carve out time for questing together with friends? Maintenance work.
I’m lying sick in bed and finally mustered the strength to trudge to the PC: Maintenance work.
After weeks, I finally feel like playing game XY again? Maintenance work.
Yes, we are good friends, maintenance work and I.
But the question doesn’t concern me, it concerns you: What do you do during that time? Do you check the clock every minute, cursor already on the login button, making sure not to miss anything? Do you not care and just continue with life? Type away and let us know!

With a new update for version 2.6.1, Blizzard targets programs like TurboHUD and bots in Diablo 3.
A short time before the start of Season 13 in Diablo 3, the developers released an update. The update does not affect the balance of the various classes. Instead, it addresses a larger problem with third-party programs. Blizzard made surprising changes in this area.
Diablo 3 Patch 2.6.1 – The end for bots and TurboHUD?
The new patch was released about two days ago for Diablo 3. As no patch notes were published, players asked in the forum what had changed in the game. Community manager Nevalistis explained that hotfixes for permanent fixes were made in the update, and background functions were changed. There were no gameplay changes through the update to Diablo 3.
However, with the changes to background functions, Blizzard has evidently struck gold. Now programs like TurboHUD and various bots no longer work.
What is TurboHUD? TurboHUD is a third-party program that displays additional information on your Diablo 3 screen. The functions of this software can be used to gain better vision on the minimap. This can create advantages in Diablo 3 that other users without this program do not have. Therefore, its use is controversial in the community.
TurboHUD in Action Source: Imgur
How do HUDs and bots work? Game information such as health points, mana, position of enemies and your character, map patterns are stored in the RAM of your PC. Third-party programs read this information directly from the RAM and display it on your screen (HUD) or let bots react to it.
With the new update for version 2.6.1, Blizzard made it more difficult to read this information. They encrypted the memory locations with the important information in the RAM. Additionally, the location where this information is stored changes. Each time you restart Diablo 3, this information will be stored in a different location.
These changes have made reading this information much more difficult. However, this does not mean that it will become impossible, and bots or HUDs will never work again.
The developer of TurboHUD stated that fixing these issues is difficult and the chance of TurboHUD ever running again is slim.

This change could mean that at least at the start of Season 13, we will see significantly fewer bots in the leaderboards that take the fun away from fair players.
Instead of daily challenges, there are now weekly challenges in Fortnite: Battle Royale since the new Season 3. With our guide, you can complete them all! You will find the secret treasure of Dusty Depot and visit Fox, Llama, and Crab.
In Season 2, challenges had to be completed daily to make progress in the Battle Pass. Epic promises more flexibility for Season 3. You no longer have to log in daily to ensure the Battle Pass is completed.
Every week there is a new set of weekly challenges consisting of seven tasks. If you manage to complete four out of the seven tasks, you get an additional EXP bonus.
We will show you how to complete all seven tasks – every week!
Attention: For the weekly challenges, you must have purchased the Battle Pass for 950 V-Bucks. There are also challenges for those who have not purchased the Battle Pass, but these are self-explanatory.
Task 1: Deal damage to opponents with pistols
You can find pistols frequently in the game. In many cases, this may even be your starting weapon. To complete the task, you must inflict a total of 500 damage points to opponents. You can complete the challenge with regular pistols as well as with the suppressed variant.
Both weapon types inflict immense damage at short range. If you force yourself to play with the pistols, especially at the beginning of a round, you should have this challenge completed quickly.
Task 2: Search chests at Pleasant Park
Land at the beginning of a round in Pleasant Park and loot 7 chests to complete this challenge. You will likely regularly encounter other players trying to snatch the treasure chests right in front of you.
In Pleasant Park, it’s all about looting treasure chests!
So make sure to land in Pleasant Park every now and then to complete this challenge. The area is large, and there are plenty of treasure chests hidden in the numerous houses.
Task 3: Revive players
You logically cannot complete this task in solo mode. Play with friends or random players in duo or team mode, and the task will complete itself. If you revive a friend five times, the challenge is complete!
Task 4: Visit a Llama, a Fox, and a Crab
This task is interesting. The task description sounds abstract, but it’s easy to accomplish. Epic has placed structures in three locations on the Fortnite map that are intended to depict exactly these animals.
The structures are located at the outer edges of the map. To avoid being caught in the storm, you should land directly at these structures to complete the task. The following image, which was posted on the Fortnite Reddit, shows you the locations of the animals:
Fortnite goes treasure hunting – In Dusty Depot, you can find a map that leads you to a treasure! The map can be found in the fenced areas between the warehouses in Dusty Depot (there are two, which you find doesn’t matter).
This is what the treasure map looks like:

But where does the map lead to exactly? Some may notice the large chair – it is located north of Flush Factory and south of Shifty Shafts. The large tree is also hard to miss.
If you find the right tree, a golden star will appear that you can collect. Task completed!
In this video, “Der Kurze” shows you the way:

You need to eliminate two opponents with sniper rifles. Whether you use the bolt-action or semi-automatic sniper is up to you. Try to hit opponents who are currently relieving a fallen enemy of his loot or consuming potions.
Task 7: Eliminate opponents at Fatal Fields
Land at the beginning of a round in Fatal Fields and grab a weapon immediately to catch stragglers right away. Make sure you land faster than your enemies. You need to eliminate three opponents around the barns of Fatal Fields to complete this task.
This shouldn’t be too challenging – usually, several players land in this area depending on the game mode.
Congratulations – you have completed all weekly tasks of the Battle Pass!
Have you already completed all tasks for this week?

A controversial revision of the cards in Paladins is making waves. Not only do fans believe the system is “Pay2Win,” but developers are also not fond of it. However, the studio bosses seem to be pushing the system through. Developers complained about this to the gaming site IGN. Now the system is being retracted, while the head defends it.
For a long time, Paladins was considered a good alternative to Overwatch with a fair Free2Play system. Harsh criticism erupted when Hi-Rez introduced the Open Beta 64 with the new system “Cards Unbound”. Fans hated it and found it clearly “Pay2Win.”
Apparently, there was an internal rebellion at Hi-Rez regarding this system. After a series of very strange maneuvers, “Cards Unbound” is now disappearing from Paladins.
Developers of Paladins revolt, complain to gaming press
The criticism in the forum regarding “Cards Unbound” was publicly audible at the end of 2017.
However, it remained hidden that there was also such controversy within the studio that some developers rebelled against the system. They contacted the US site IGN and bitterly complained about the system: It would be Pay2Win.
Cards Unbound was the worst thing that could have happened to the game. The developers who spoke with IGN said they did not want to support it. However, the bosses pushed it through against the will of most of the developers.
IGN did not publish this statement, but went through the proper channels and spoke with their superiors.
Head of Paladins thinks: Well, people are slowly getting used to it
The head of Paladins, Todd Harris, admits in a conversation with IGN that there were indeed significant problems with the change. This was mainly due to the timing.
The new card system came about in November, precisely when there was so much trouble regarding loot boxes in Destiny 2 or Star Wars Battlefront 2. That turned out to be unfortunate.
However, Harris thinks that the excitement is slowly dying down and new players are getting used to the system.
The article containing the anonymous criticism of Paladins’ developers and the statements from Harris was published yesterday on IGN.
Paladins retracts Pay2Win cards after all
However, these statements from Harris were probably already outdated shortly thereafter. The Paladins team announced just a few hours after Harris’s statements that they would indeed retract the “Cards Unbound” system in the upcoming updates.
In the producer letter, it states that “Cards Unbound” were indeed successful and brought in more users and money, but they are hearing the extremely negative feedback.
It seems that Hi-Rez made several decisions yesterday:
New items in WoW suggest that players will soon be able to craft their own Keystone. We reveal how this could go down.
A new version of the Alpha for Battle for Azeroth was deployed to the test server last night. In this game version of World of Warcraft, a number of items were extracted, allowing for better configuration of the “Mythic+” dungeon keys.
With these items, it is possible to freely set the various parameters of a “Mythic+” Keystone:
The “+” level of the dungeon can be freely set up to “Mythic+30”.
The exact dungeon can be selected. Each (current) Legion dungeon has a scroll to customize the Keystone.
The affixes can be freely selected. Each affix has its own scroll.
“Mythic+” settings only for tournaments?
However, there is still no indication that these items will actually make it into the live version of World of Warcraft; rather, the opposite seems to be the case. No sources can be identified from which these items might originate.
It is certainly possible that these items are used solely for testing purposes on test servers. Alternatively, they could also be used on special tournament servers, such as during the Dungeon Invitational. Here, different teams compete against each other and must prove that they can complete the dungeon in the shortest possible time. It would be practical to quickly make the corresponding settings by simply visiting a special vendor with these items.
Most players see the “Mythic+” system as successful, although the high RNG factor, especially regarding the choice of dungeon and the weekly affixes, causes frustration. Having more freedom there could help – however, it would also make the system more susceptible to targeted exploitation.
What do you think about this change? Would it be cool if you could customize the Mythic keystones?
With a declassified mission report on Operation “White Dome,” Blizzard could announce the new Overwatch hero “Emre Sarioglu.”
A cryptic tweet was sent out from the official Overwatch Twitter account, causing excitement within the community. The tweet shows a mission report mentioning some already released heroes from Overwatch and a new name. Is this the next champion?
Emre Sarioglu – the new Overwatch Champion?
The announcement is not entirely clear, although fans are assuming a new hero is coming.

The declassified mission report discusses Operation “White Dome.” A task force led by Captain Ana Amari, an existing Overwatch character, was sent to Istanbul. The team included:
Lieutenant Reinhard Wilhelm
Chief Engineer Torbjörn Lindholm
and Private First Class Emre Sarioglu
The first names are familiar to fans of Blizzard’s hero shooter, as these are Ana, Reinhardt, and Torbjörn. The fourth name in the group, Emre Sarioglu, is new and could be a teaser for the next hero in Overwatch. Unfortunately, the “Full Report” of the teaser, which could tell us more interesting information and details about the deployment of this team, is missing.
However, it may also be that Blizzard intentionally wants to mislead us, and Emre Sarioglu is not the new hero. We are curious when new information about the hero will arrive. Until then, we will keep ourselves busy with the existing ones. When will the Hanzo rework finally come to Overwatch?

This might not be what they had in mind at Paladins. After just a few hours in a public alpha, the Battlegrounds mode of Paladins is no longer playable. Hi-Rez wants to rework the game and still release it independently. The revision is under the motto “YOLO.”
In a producer letter, Hi-Rez announces the decision: The new mode “Battlegrounds” was playable for a few weeks on the test servers and has just been in a larger alpha, but that is now over.
They will remove the alpha version of Battlegrounds from the Paladins game client very soon.
Revision under the code name YOLO
In the coming weeks, Hi-Rez wants to “aggressively revise” the mode. They already have plans in internal tests and believe they can make the mode significantly more fun and exciting. The internal codename for these changes is “YOLO.” It stands for “You Only Live Once” and is a battle cry for teenagers, meaning “What the heck? I’ll just do it. Close your eyes and go for it.”
When the Battlegrounds mode returns, it will have its own game client and its own name. While it will retain some elements of Paladins, it will be marketed as a “new game.” It will likely be Free2Play.
Hi-Rez hopes that they can soon release the new mode for testing. It should be a matter of weeks.
Paladins Battlegrounds is set to become its own game under its own name
The changes are necessary because they believe it is better to decouple Battlegrounds from Paladins to avoid conflicts between the two versions. Additionally, mixing two brands could confuse players.
Paladins players were likely worried about their game
Mein MMO believes: Hi-Rez is certainly reacting here to the concerns of Paladins players that the new trendy battle royale mode could overshadow their favorite game. This is what happened with Fortnite’s PvE mode. However, it also sounds like Hi-Rez is not yet satisfied with the mode if they want to aggressively revise it now.
It’s definitely a tough situation for Hi-Rez.
They are clearly following in Fortnite’s footsteps and want to jump on the battle royale bandwagon as quickly as possible to give their game new momentum.
Hi-Rez sees the risk in such rush jobs. They can easily upset and alienate the existing fanbase.
Moreover, the mode has to be really good if it is to succeed. And Paladins will need to compete against Fortnite: Battle Royale.
The game mode “Paladins Battlegrounds” was introduced in January at the Hi-Rez Expo. It is clearly based on the currently popular battle royale games Fortnite: Battle Royale and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. We have presented the features of the mode here:
This week you have the opportunity to buy a particularly powerful sniper rifle in The Division. You can find out why it is so good and where to get it here. You only have until today, February 23, for that.
It rarely happens that powerful weapons with mighty talents are available from vendors. However, this week there is a particularly good firearm for sale that you should not miss.
What weapon is it?
You can get the M700 sniper rifle in the carbon version with the following base stats:
Rate of fire: 54
Magazine size: 7
Reload speed: 2.63 sec.
Repeater rifle (loads each shot individually)
The M700 is therefore a sniper with high firepower but low rate of fire.
Where can you get the M700?
The weapon is available at the vendor in the Safehouse The Meat Locker for 1,669,320 credits and has a Gear Score of 284, nearly at maximum. This means you will save quite a bit of Division tech for upgrades.
Keep in mind that the price and Gear Score correspond to World Tier 5.
Important: This M700 is only available until today, February 23. Because on the night from Friday to Saturday, the vendor reset will take place, and you won’t be able to buy the weapon with these talents in the “The Meat Locker” safehouse anymore.
What are the talents of the weapon?
Deadly: Critical hit damage is increased by 15%
Prepared: Damage is increased by 15% at a distance of more than 30 meters from the target
Increased: Increases damage by 10% when you are more than 1.2m above your target
The headshot damage bonus is a strong 169%.
Why is this M700 so powerful?
It belongs to the strongest sniper rifles in the game, especially in PvP, the M700 is highly recommended due to its massive firepower. No weapon in the game deals more damage per shot. So, if you want to take on the role of the sniper or simply look for a complement to another weapon, the M700 is a top recommendation.
In contrast to sniper rifles like the SVD, you have to reload each shot with the M700. So you cannot pump enemies full of rapidly consecutive hits.
The talents are ideal for a sniper rifle since you simply have to maintain distance and look for a higher position to deal massive damage. This playstyle is generally advisable for sniper rifles.
There are more strong talents, like Competent or Destructive, which you can roll in the third slot, and are also well suited. It depends on which set you’re playing and whether you prefer PvP or PvE. Therefore, you can buy several copies directly to equip for all possible builds. Even without changes, the talents are strong and make this weapon a must-have.
Additionally: This is the carbon version. This means: All mod slots are available, giving you further customization options for your builds.
